Scientist Aaron

Where his trainer is sociable, friendly and charming, Yora is mischievous, detached and cold, and in battle, he is unflappably, creatively sadistic, often spending an agonizingly long time using illusions to attack, confuse, mislead and torment his opponent. Sometimes, bored of the game, he'll finally clean up after himself by finishing with a devastating Flamethrower - more often, he leaves them: incredibly shaken, hopelessly scarred, but very much alive.

Despite this, Yora appears to harbor a soft spot for young trainers, and will refuse battle with any, instead moving to protect them if he is able. To these people, he is demanding, affectionate - and downright adorable.

Selectively bred and personally trained, Yora has preferred to wander outside of his Pokeball, and he and Aaron have been known to be inseparable for years - though as of late and for reasons unknown, they have rarely been seen in the presence of another.

For someone who evidently keeps relationships with his Pokemon at arms length, Yora is an abnormality; potentially an exploitable weakness.

Not that either of them would allow that outcome for an instant.

A slight, lovely specimen of her species, with long, shaggy white fur and nimble magician's hands that firmly reside in the uncanny valley. Half-lidded eyes stare languidly from behind a pair of mirrored goggles, and she moves with a slow, serene grace.

That is, until she feeds.

While she has found regular and plentiful sustenance at Aaron's bedside since the Sea Mauville incidents, she is rarely satisfied devouring the dreams of her trainer, alone...

Privacy is a foreign concept to this Pokemon, and many of Mauville's old business rivals have inadvertently found themselves and their facilities unsecured from the probing assault of her psi phenomena.

He is Chi.

Chi comes with knives, and agony.

Aaron's oldest active Pokemon by far, Jagger was meticulously resurrected from a chunk of Old Amber when Aaron was still on his prematurely-abandoned League adventures, and this instance is largely credited with spurring on the boy's interest in science.

Today, Jagger is still used extensively for aerial transport, but less so for combat, as Aaron has started going easy on the fearsome flier in the Pokemon's advancing age. Unflaggingly loyal and somewhat of an attention-hound outside of battle, Jagger is still very keen on proving himself useful to both his team and his beloved trainer. Whatever that takes.

A strange one in the mix, neither a breeding project nor serious long-term team contender, and indeed this Gorebyss doesn't often see battle, except to ride the coattails of the heavy hitters in Aaron's arsenal.

Caught as a Clamperl on a whim when fishing off of Unova's Route 4; stringent training sessions and one meeting at Mistralton City later, Renfield was molded into on-hand aquatic transportation and serviceable support in the event of a spontaneous battle.

But thoroughly wild, erratic, and prone to turning against humans and Pokemon alike, Renfield is detrimental to any team for the long term, and clearly resents every moment outside of the comfort of his PokeBall.

Release seems an increasingly viable option, though Aaron claims that he keeps the mad creature on-hand so he could observe his feeding habits - and spare the wilds (and the odd plucky young up-and-comer) the pesky Pokemon's trouble.

A glitch. A mistake. A being of energy and fear, herself; rescued from a situation out of trainer or beast's control, and finding new solace and tentative belonging among the team of the new scientist.

Aaron won't starve or frighten her for her power, after all. Aaron knows what is best.

This little Phantump is abnormally small, little more than a wisp and a twig - and if Aaron has anything to say on the matter, and in spite of diligent training 'just in case,' he will never see serious battle. Instead, Ethan seems to be content to roam freely about wherever Aaron happens to be living or staying, offering to help out where he feels he is able (regardless if Aaron agrees).

When not insisting he can help (all by himself), he likes to curl in front of the TV and watch Watchy Watchog. He prefers rainbow PokéBlocks.

Every Ditto in his arsenal over the years is chosen based on the quality of children they produce, ability to imitate - and their lack of humor, and Mercury is his current favored breeder; and like its predecessors, it is exceptionally cared for in this favored position.

A super-sized Gourgeist, Charis' piercing, predatory yellow eyes undermine the otherwise charming and cuddly Halloween appearance.

Already fully evolved when encountered, Charis was neither a breeding project nor an intentional catch; rather he found her terrorizing young trainers along Mélancolie Path on a trip overseas, and the Pokeball was one thrown out of necessity.

But she must have seen something promising in him, for she didn't fight her capture. And he must have likewise in her, for she has not yet been released, languished in his PC, or been tucked away for some other project.

She has no interest in organized battles, and Aaron is hard-pressed to argue with that. Rather, Charis prefers the finer things in life; contests, grooming, Supreme Pokepuffs. Singing sweetly while slowly devouring her provided, hapless prey. Nothing less will do.

DO NOT RELEASE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Considerably more useful off the battlefield than on it, Runciter prefers to assist Ubik in their questionable forms of "information trading."

Far more volatile and unpredictable than Ubik, his psychic 'sister,' the etiquette of battle seems to elude this one, and he often requires special coaxing not to directly warp reality, or to attack, hypnotize or control trainers and bystanders alike in the heat of events. That isn't to say Runciter is entirely dead weight in battle - Topsy-Turvy is a deliciously bizarre move, after all. Perhaps it's for the best that the type has very little resistances.

Ethereal, graceful, a bit off-kilter and utterly weird, Runciter is best suitable as an intelligent assistant rather than a heavy-hitter in battle. Also quite the conversation piece.

Reclusive and mischevous, Zeevi is a glittering little gem of a golem-creature who regards everything with a childlike and nosy fascination.

It's because of Zeevi that visitors have learned to remove their jewelry when calling on the scientist, and the tiny Phantump Ethan is the only being aside from Aaron thus far that will make him cooperate - to him, Zeevi is a strange little puppy, and for him, the little critter doggedly remains outside of his Pokeball.

Not a bad contender for battle, but would rather preoccupy himself with more important matters, Zeevi is nevertheless the first choice as a backup member if Tesla cowers, or Renfield misbehaves.
