  *The journal is a medium sized blue leather cover well worn with age. Across the cover are vegetal motifs, celtic symbols, and oak leaves. In the centre is a tree of life, with "Tadhg" written on the trunk. The clasp is a silver emblem two inches in diameter. The pages within look like rough-hewn vellum. Those who are fae, changelings, or of the Dreaming would know the paper to be goblin parchment*

    Wow, it's a new year! Well, things have been pretty good here in Louisiana. I expected things to go tits up after about a week, but I feel pretty optimistic for the first time in a long time. There is so much free glamour and people of all sorts. All and all, if you can stomach the iron or find the right drugs, this is the best place to live in the good old US of A.
    
    

  • Medicine!! October 7th 2014, 5:50 pm

    Finally, I found medicine to protect me from iron in the city. Unlike changelings, I don't even have a hint of iron in my blue sidhe blood. All this omnipresence of all this bleedin' goddess damned wrought iron has had me hinging on the icy brink of death. Anyway, I stole this medicine from some kids shooting up junk in the park. The street name is Nevermore or Never, and when humans take it they see elements of faerie and apparently get some of our powers. It's named such because of Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven, which I guess is supposed to be goth or some shite, but also because it relates to how humans can endure the dosage. "Nevermore" than twice a day, I forget all the rest, I was more interested in punching this kid in the mouth rather than listening to what he had to say about his drug habit. Anyway, little gobshite wouldn't give up the name of his dealer. I feel justified in my theft because these cunts never should have had this shite to begin with. I need to find meself an alchemist who can brew this for me regularly. I'm flying the fuck high today. So long as I get a supply of Never I will be able to play in the city.

  • Iron, Iron Everywhere October 2nd 2014, 9:30 pm

    I have puked three times today. New Versailles proper is full of iron. It's in the air, it's in the architecture. I breathe it in, I can't get it out. It’s heavy in my lungs, in my face, on my body. I've got bags under my eyes, and my skin looks so papery with a greenish tincture. You'd think I was a Redcap before you'd know I was a sidhe. All this iron is weakening my mortal seeming glamour, too. Luckily most of the mortals think that I'm just a junkie.
    
    "That's why he has so many tattoos, to cover up his heroin bruises" said a daughter to her mother knowingly as they passed me in China Town. Luckily the dumb bitch didn’t notice my big-ass-god-damned-fecking sidhe ears starting to poke out of my glamour. I stuck those long fuckers under a beanie just in time.
    
    I spend all my days and nights in the forest or the bayou, but how the fuck am I ever going to hold down a job if I keep getting this sick all the time? I would just be homeless altogether and go live in the forest, but as an exiled sidhe noble, I've always taken great care to avoid nature in its raw state. I'm used to palaces, castles, manor houses, pageants, and masques, not some hole in the centre of a bleedin’ stone circle. Granted a studio apartment isn't like High Court, but it's not a fucking Hobbit Hole either.
    
    I know there is medicine out there that can help me, but I need to find someone who can make it for me. I sure as shit haven't the foggiest idea how. Fuck.

    Damn, it seems like only a few weeks. Well beloved reader, I've moved out of the snowbox, and into the good ol' US of A, and time marches on. Though its passing seems more spent in reflection of time long gone than in the present. I am a Sidhe though so I’m guessing that’s no surprise to most. My forgetfulness is getting worse… I hadn’t noticed how bad until this past year and a half spent around people again.
    
    I miss the seclusion of the secluded part of rural Antrim sometimes. Nobody there to notice my drifting into memories for hours at a time. I do love New Versailles so far. It's a curious city. I'll see what I can find here. Maybe some other fae or a freehold or court that can stomach me.
    
    I have this little notepad I carry around with me to write down where I am outside the Perdition Park. If end up in the middle of some club or rave for a few hours into hunting and forget otherwise…
    
    Heh…nothing like being in the middle of some fuckin’ hole in the ground and suddenly realizing you don’t know where you are…or the way out…
