• Brief History

  Born in a low class household, Sayid was taken by rebel insurgents who opposed the Ottoman empire in Iraq at the age of 8. His family was killed, except for his sister Tzipporah (see Complications) and the fox was trained as a child soldier for the Black Sheep Guerrillas. 1 of 2 children would die during their training as assassins, spies and religious zealots. His first battle saw him deafened at the age of 13 when a cannon exploded beside him. The Black Sheep left him for dead and he was found by a wandering Fakir named Ibn who nursed the fox back to health and worked to break the near feral teen of the brain washing inflicted upon him by the Black Sheep.
  
  Through mystic practices, Ibn taught Sayid "The System", a power terrible enough to kill a man from an ocean away through channeling the energies of the Earth and seeing all possibilities, past, present and future, at once. The young man was also gifted with firearms, using "The System" to focus on invention. He and Ibn eked out a life of selling firearms to rebel groups and constant training while engaging in a romantic relationship.
  
  Two events happened during this time that changed Sayid. One sale saw a rebel leader abusing a peregrine falcon the group used to deliver messages, the fox took offense and killed the man and rescued the bird which would become his trusted companion named Cutrus. The group then hired an assassin known as Zweihänder to find Sayid and Ibn, and the killer had ambushed them, killing the fakir -- sending Sayid down a bloody path of revenge as he reverted back to his soldier ways to exterminate the rebel group himself and search out the killer they had sent.
  
  At the age of 17, Sayid was known as the "Desert Ghost", a man who killed for money and was never seen. It was when the Department of Paranormal Investigations took notice and sought out the legendary "ghost", finding instead a small fox who could kill someone from anywhere in the world. To keep his powers on the side of good, he was recruited into the Department and has been with them ever since, a deadly secret if the powers of evil ever took hold.

• The System

  The System is the ability to see all events, past, present and future, though in obscure visions. When one enters The System, they go into a trance; heart rate drops, breathing barely noticeable, no requirement for food, water or sleep for days at a time. The ability is only prevalent in twins, with one "navigating" realities and the other making use of the information seen within. Sayid and his twin sister Tzipporah share this unique bond; Tzipporah is the guide, while Sayid is the user.
  
  Lonstrike initiates the trance to go into The System, and upon doing so his sister goes unwillingly into a trance, often seen as seizures. Using his innate ability to draw kinetic energy through Earth, Sayid charges up shots in his custom rifle, using The System to guide the bullet wherever it needs to go. He can be on one side of the planet and kill a man on the other, all because The System shows him how much to charge the bullet and where to direct the shot through Tzipporah's guidance and future sense.
  
  There has been no limit discovered as to how far reaching Lonstrike can make his shots, or how powerful. The Duck, head of the Department of Paranormal Investigations has put Sayid to many tests and fears the little fox may be one of the most powerful beings on the planet, drawing from an infinite power source. Bullets can be charged with enough energy to pass through any objects known (metal, mountains, etc) and yet still hit the target.
  
  Longstrike also uses The System to develop new firearms, locking himself into the trance and working on new concepts. It is thought that through The System he is plucking pure inspiration from a mystical source. Sometimes Sayid will use the plant Khat to aid him, the drug providing psychotropic effects and increasing his awareness.
  
  The System is very taxing on both Longstrike and Tzipporah, though more so for Sayid. Depending on the shot made, Sayid may stay in a trance for upwards of week; coming out of it near dead from dehydration and malnutrition. It is why The Duck only uses him for the most extreme circumstances.

• Complications

  Sayid is broken. The tragic events in his life have warped him in such a way that his morals are skewed at best, frightening at worst. He has a very low tolerance to frustration and a low threshold for discharge of aggression, including violence; incapacity to profit from experience, particularly punishment; and an incapacity to maintain enduring relationships, though having no difficulty in establishing them.
  
  In his time with the Black Sheep, Longstrike was abused mentally, physically and sexually. While The System has helped with the mental abuse, the sexual side is an ongoing battle for the man. It is also because of his religion that he struggles with this side of his personality. Sayid is a closet bisexual, feeling great guilt from this. Members of the Black Sheep abused him sexually often, and it wasn't until he traveled with Ibn did Sayid find love in a homosexual coupling.
  
  Upon joining the Department of Paranormal Investigations, Longstrike met Devina Valikova, becoming smitten with the woman as they both shared terrible pasts. She would be his first female lover. However, when her once thought deceased lover; Joe Hardy, returned -- Devina left Longstrike for the other man. To compound matters further, it was at this time Sayid was reunited with his sister Tzipporah, who was living among the stars with a group of aliens. Through their connection in The System, and being twins, Sayid has found himself lusting for his twin; much to his shame.
  
  It is unclear if Sayid actually believes in the concept of love, or if it is all just lust. He is a pure submissive, never initiating, and any sexual encounter with either sex leaves him guilt-ridden.
  
  Sayid also believes that murder is justified in many circumstances. When faced with physical confrontation, Longstrike will do everything in his power to kill and not feel any guilt over it. He has his own reasons for doing so, being it's art of the job, defending someone, etc. but these reasons often do not hold any weight with people of strong moral values. He takes no pleasure in killing, but it is as easy to him as breathing is to anyone else.
