  • Personality: Yuri tends to be anti-social due to her unique mutation and as a result of being bullied as a child. She can be difficult to be around, but with patience and trust, she'll warm up.

• Appearance

  Yuri stands at 5 feet and 7 inches and has a slender frame. Her skin is pale and her hair is cut short so that her bangs often cover one eye and tends to dye it on a regular basis. Despite the weather, she is always seen wearing a Royal branded olive coat which appears to be one or two sizes too large for her that has a detachable hood. During the summer, she usually wears a midriff and shorts or a skirt along with thigh high stockings or knee socks with plain sneakers. During the colder seasons, she'll wear a thin long sleeve shirt and jeans beneath her coat with ankle high boots.

• Background

  Natsumi Yuri's mother left shortly after Yuri was born, leaving her in the care of her father due to Yuri's unique mutation. As Yuri grew older, she experienced rejection and bullying daily in school because her mutation was so odd. While she suffered through it, her father provided as much emotional support as he could offer, despite the lack of similarities he and his daughter shared. Still, Yuri found a haven with her father and she was thankful for that. However, shortly after she had turned eighteen, her father suffered a fatal heart attack. This played heavily into her personality, as she was already distant from others, she had lost her only safety net. Having no idea as to her mother's whereabouts, she found herself in the care of a shady character by the name of Jonas Rook, a ruthless gang leader with a powerful mutation of his own. Finding a use for Yuri, he made her into a scout for his group, using old smoke signal techniques to relay messages. This relationship, however, came with much abuse.

• Mutation

  Compared to others, Yuri's mutation is considered 'unique' meaning she is the only known case to have this mutation. Rather than produce carbon dioxide, her lungs formed in a way that they heat up to intense temperatures, causing her to produce smoke in her breath as she exhales. The genetic make up of this mutation allows her lungs to heat up to an extent without damaging her body, but if she were to over exert herself, she can overheat and cause severe pain to herself.
