• Bastinado: A short but no less imposing figure. The donkey was a splattering of coffee on cream, dressed impeccably in the finest suits money could buy. Not a stray hair or fiber was out of place. Oft seen capped with a tall hat and walking with a crystal-topped cane. Bristly muttonchops grace his wide jaw, lending a slight wild look to the otherwise quite cultured man. Even his frame spoke of opulence, thick arms and a barrel chest square the rotund belly neatly tucked behind buttoned tops. The fellow carries himself with an unexpected lightness for someone of his stature and breed. Seen quite often in the company of his brother, William, the two run a funeral parlor overlooking the western shore.
