• Biography

  After WWIII, the American government fell and the surviving society is dominated by numerous mafias that fight with each other constantly. They all own most of American businesses and take down every independent store that pops up. They operate a multitude of shady institutions, including brothels and a shitload of assassins to take care of the dirty work.
  Valerie Cook was born the 27th of June 2078. This is approx. 50 years after the end of WWIII. Her mother was a young prostitute who was forced to hide Val and her older brother, Calvin. They lived quite happily, considering. Val and Cal were two silly and lighthearted kids who managed to see the light in every situation. Until one day:
  When Val was 8 and Cal was 12, the mafia boss found out about them and took them away. They were separated and Val has no idea where her brother ended up to this day. Valerie was sent to an assassin training camp for girls. What followed was 12 horrible years of brutal emotional and physical abuse. She started out as a little fragile girl. They were extra hard on them, so that they would either toughen up or die. Val became a wreck, constantly crying and stopping. This made the trainers see her as a target. She was almost constantly abused by them. If trainees disobeyed orders, they were locked inside isolation cells. During her first 3 months, she was constantly thrown in there.
  One day she snapped and decided to stop being weak. She became determined to live in order to see Cal and her mother again. She didn't want to fail them. Her world view changed, she started treating life like a challenge. Giving up wasn't an option. She never truly gave up on her optimism though, she believed that there was a prize waiting for her once this was all over.
  She was very close to another girl at the camp, Julie. She was the only one Val could be herself with. They would talk about
  what they thought life was like before the war and make up stories. Val didn't let anyone know she adored dancing, except Julie. When Val started growing up, she started having confusing feeling towards Julie. Slowly, over the course of two years, they developed a loving relationship.
  Once her 12 year training was over she was forced to kill enemies of the boss. They were specially trained to use seduction as a weapon. Valerie and Julie worked close together, they were usually close by when the other was on a mission to step in when things got hairy.
  Even though they were pretty desensitized to killing, they dreamed of going far, far away together. One day, Julie was sent on a mission to kill a small enemy. He turned out to be Julie's father. Declining a mission wasn't an option so they decided
  it was time to try to escape.
  They were caught by another assassin named Kevin, who was hopelessly in love with Val. He tracked them down and fired a warning shot at them. In his emotional turmoil, his aim was a bit off and he accidentally hit Val in the shoulder. Julie snapped and shot at him without thinking and tended to Val when he was down. She ripped off her sleeve and used it as a bandage. While Julie kept asking Val if she was okay and Val constantly saying she was fine, they heard a bang and less than a second later, Julie fell down dead on val, covering her in a mixture of their blood. She looked at Kevin who had used his final bit of strength to fire his gun at Julie. Val was overcome with rage and launched herself at him. She pulled out her pocketknife and stabbed him relentlessly for a few long minutes. She wandered off covered in blood from Kevin, Julie and herself. She managed to get by on the kindness of other unfortunate souls. After a year of hopelessness and self-pity. She decided to search for greener pastures. But first, she must know what happened to her brother and mother.
