• Description

  Sol stands at 6' 5" tall, and is rather imposing to most. His eyes are red in color, including the whites, though there is a visible difference between the iris and the 'white' of his eyes.
  
  His pupils are always slit, and for the last year, he's been effectively blind, being able to only tell the difference between light areas and dark areas. Being rather dry and sarcastic to begin with, this predicament can make Sol's company even worse if he feels he is being pittied. Hence he prefers to keep his blindness a secret for as long as he can, and deals with business mostly by conversation, rather than documentation. He does, however, have an impeccable memory- so pulling fast ones on him isn't so easy.
  
  From his back spring two considerably large wings that enable him physical flight. However, in the last year he hasn't flown (due to blindness, and lack of flying partner), and because to the pure mechanical labor- he will likely continue to generally avoid it. He also has a tail, and tufts of feathers. The tufts appear prominently on his shoulders, cheeks (leading to his feathered ears), and a line starting at the base of his neck to just above his tail-bone. Feathers appear on both his ankles and wrists- three on the outside of each joint. He does not like his feathers, and does not like them being mentioned- almost to the extent of becoming violent against such things.
  
  The ends of Sol's hands are discolored, and grow claws, though the condition does not appear on his feet. Because of this, Sol will almost always wear gloves, and do almost anything to keep them on. The only exceptions to this is that when he is alone, or around someone he trusts profusely, he will take them off so he can clip and file his claws.

• History

  The Lost
  Open with a cliche view of a peaceful farming scene. A man with an ox attached to a plow is lost in his work in a lower field. Up a small hill sits a house that one can guess is only one room- maybe two. A woman sits just outside the door on a stool, churning butter. She looks a little tired, despite the lazy afternoon. Panning around, it can be seen that she's watching two boys who are playing 'Knights' with sticks. The elder one is kindly letting his sibling win, falling into the soft grass as he's 'stabbed'. The little one lofts his stick in the air and gives a cry of triumph. It's just the latest in a long line of kind things the elder brother does, as you can tell by the knowing smile that has filtered onto the mother's face.
  
  The farm isn't too far from the local village, but this one is closer to it's neighbors than the town. So when a figure appears walking up the path towards the house, it's a strange happening. The mother doesn't stop churning the butter (as such is the nature of the act), but she does call the boys in from the grass. Obediently they come to her side, the elder standing a bit more forward, and one could guess he was nearing ten, while his sibling looked a couple years younger, still a little rounder in the face, and holding to his brother's hand.
  
  The stranger finally made it to the house. He carried scrolls and wore fine red silk robes, looking impressive. He speaks formally, and the trio at the house can only assume that he was important. Flipping to a view from above, you can see the father starting up from the field, probably curious as to what's going on, though a close-up reveals only a work-hardened face with neutral expression. Also in this close-up, you can begin to notice how gaunt the man is looking, thinner than he should be for the work he puts in. When he arrives at the house, the stranger gives him a good look over, and then makes an offer.
  
  Skip to the boys in the family's sleeping room, the elder helping his brother pack. Just glimpsed beyond the open door the stranger hands the father a sack that is implied to be coins. The mother sits by the hearth without saying anything, she's distant.
  
  Skip again and we see the boys traveling with the stranger. They've gone past town already, and the day has turned into night, the stranger now having a lantern to light their path. The younger sibling has crawled onto his brother's back, and is now asleep. The elder shows slight signs of ware, but the stranger doesn't apparently notice. Or if he does, he doesn't seem to care.
  
  Another clipped shot of the brothers' hands clasped together, smudged with dirt and tattered sleeves. Panning out and they're in some kind of courtyard, and the elder is helping his brother climb up into a low tree. Once they settle on the branches, the elder climbs a little higher to pick a handful of ripe apricots from the top of the tree. He comes back down to share with his sibling, and soon the boys are covered in a sticky sweet mess, looking happy. The stranger comes out, calling for them, and the elder quickly silences his sibling. They're afraid of the stranger these days.
  
  It isn't long, however, when from an angled up perspective, one can see the stranger come under the tree, looking up to see the boys. After a short squabble, the man pulls the children from the tree, dragging them by their hair back inside.
  
  The camera continues to watch the door, but the vines that had been thin little groupings begin to grow swiftly until the wall is thick with ivy leaves, cycling through the seasons to show the passing of many years. Now when the brothers emerge, they have grown into fine young men, probably around their late teens. The younger one is apparently trying to wrestle his elder, but whatever had happened over those many years, only the elder had filled out into an attractively toned body. His brother was still a little scrawny. Though they still looked strikingly similar, and the elder still apparently took care of his brother- helping the other up when the 'attack' failed. They stand under the apricot trees and pick a few from the lower branches, the elder playfully throwing his pits at his sibling.
  
  The stranger, now older, and not as strange, calls them back inside. The boys lose their smiles, but obey. The camera continues to watch the door, but slowly fades to black.
  
  The Foggy
  It begins in the dark. There can be heard scraping sounds, and after a while, growling noises. After a few moments, a shaft of light appears in the room. The light spills over the one on the floor, and sharp, ruby red eyes glare up to the silhouette that stands there. Feathers grew from places all about his form in ruby, ebony, and saffron colors. After another breath, the creature makes a launch towards the one at the door, and the portal is slammed shut with the faint sound of a clicking lock. In the dark, the sounds of scraping claws against wood resume.
  
  It remains dark, but the implication is of passing time as the noises die down and finally stop, occasionally replaced by a mournful whine. During this time, the door opens again. The room is filled with splinters of wood, and on closer inspection to the back of the door, it's amazing the creature didn't make it through. The figure leaves, the door left open, and returns without the creature having moved. There is what might be considered a tender moment, when the figure helps the creature to eat and drink a little. It is, however, short lived.
  
  Camera pans around from the two on the floor to the wall, and soon the figure is being slammed against the stone, followed shortly by a clawed, discolored hand around the man's neck. He coughs and sputters a bit, frail human hands clawing at the creature's wrist. "Sol! Project Sol! You will let me down now! Sol! Let me down!" The creature complies, but is quickly gripped by a tufted feather ear, and dragged out of the room.
  
  Scene cuts to that familiar door, and the new creature is thrown out, a second project already in the court yard. The door is closed, and the new creature claws violently at it for a while. At least until ruby red eyes are turned on the second creature who sits beneath the tree. A growl was given, and the second creature scrambled up the tree, holding onto the branches as he put his hand on his chest.
  
  "I-ikarus..."
  The second creature snorts, and comes over to sit under the tree, tail flicking as he watches the first creature.
  "Sol." He responds.
  
  From within the tree, Ikarus picks a few apricots, dropping them into Sol's lap. The larger creature seems to take pity on the one in the tree, and retreats with the apricots to sit against the wall near the door. The rest of the day is spent with the two sitting directly across from one another, watching quietly. As the chill of darkness falls, Ikarus begins to shiver, and for whatever reason, Sol seems compelled. He'd come to sit beside his fellow project, wrapping a huge wing around the other's shoulders to keep him warm.
  
  Smooth transition to a clap of thunder, and Sol looking frightened, Ikarus shifting to kneel so that he could be slightly taller than the other. Cool-colored wings would extend around to create an umbrella over the other, Ikarus taking to coddling the other creature against him through the storm.
  
  Daybreak, and there were no more apricots left on the tree, Ikarus still sopping wet and shivering. Sol was clawing at the door again, pulling off chunks of wood with hard talons, trying to get inside again. This time, it worked. A hole began to form, and Sol continued to attack until he could get a firm enough grip to tear the thing off it's hinges, and go inside. The figure that had thrown them out was soon dragged into the courtyard by Sol, and the larger creature would point and grunt to shivering, sick Ikarus.
  
  "He's sick. That's what happens to you in the rain." The man huffed. He'd move over and try to pull the creature to his feet, though it wasn't working. Eventually Sol would grasp the concept, and come to scoop his fellow project into his arms, carrying them back through the doorway, leaving behind the mess of scattered wood.
  
  The Clear
  Begin again at that familiar door, the broken wood having been replaced by another fixture, and ivy having grown over it. The apricot tree seems like it's dying, probably not getting enough water. As one zooms in through a window, it can be seen that the red-robed figure seems decrepit, and the two projects sit quietly at a table for a meal. Sol uses a fork and knife to cut up the figure's meal, and Ikarus eats quietly with his fingers. There's muted conversation going on, though it is mostly between Sol and the decrepit one. Politics, business, things that the quiet project didn't seem to understand. But it was probably implied that this was because he didn't want to know these things.
  
  When they all leave from eating, Ikarus helping the elder man walk while Sol strides before, the window behind is left in view. A night falls, a day, another night, another day, and by twilight no one has returned to the table. No one has passed the screen, no one has come to clean up the plates that had been left. It's subtle, but you can see that leftover bones and greens have started to rot. A few more days pass by, and dust settles everywhere. No one seems to be coming back.
  
  Instead, as the camera pans around, the scene has become some place else entirely. The two projects can be seen walking in a crowded marketplace, Ikarus following behind Sol with his head down. Sol can be observed talking to vendors, and apparently talking the vendors right out of their coin purses. There's too much noise in the market to be able to hear what he's saying, but when the marketplace ends, the two are walking onto a ship.
  
  Through a porthole window, one can see the room is small, with only one bed. Sol can be seen taking to leaning against the wall, as Ikarus is allowed the bed. Zoom out to that typical shot of a grand sailing ship floating across the high seas, even a storm to try and symbolize the rough journey across the sea until finally the skies clear, and the ship can be seen docking at a foreign port. The two emerged, walking down the dock to the dual set of stairs that rose up on either side of a gated tunnel. Down a candled path, and then into a great hall. Red and gold with all kinds of people. Ikarus looks nervous, but Sol wastes little time acquiring them proper clothes, and trying to settle them into the constantly changing crowd.
  
  Sol begins business. Ikarus sinks into the background. They begin in sharing a room on the island, but it isn't much longer after that where the larger project is renting two rooms, one for himself, and one for the reclused Ikarus. While food was sent, and occasionally entertainment that Sol deemed fit- it slowly became obvious that Ikarus was not fairing well on this isle of danger. One night the smaller project asked to stay again with Sol, and while the other had become accustomed to getting his own space, he still agreed. The next morning, he had his own space again, and his coin purse was missing.
  
  A final cliche leaves us watching Sol as he stands at an empty dock, facing the vastness of the ocean, and beyond the world, an expression of worry stitched onto his face. Brother gone, and a new determination to get him back growing in whatever remained of his human soul.
