    Three thousand years ago humans were on the verge of extinction due to outright over pillaging of human beings by supernatural beings. This shortage of "food" quickly had Demons, Vampire, and Lycanthrope alike at arms inciting what would later be known as a Holy War.

    Two Celestial entities, brothers named The Collector and Grandmaster, omnipotent observers of Earth, foresaw this war and realized no matter who won, humanity would lose. Caring not the brothers continue their 'game' for millennia and did little as humanity creeped ever closer toward extinction. This unbridled loss of life upsetting the natural infrastructure of the cosmos(as there was nowhere to contain all the souls), it drew the likes of the Phoenix of the White Crown, Jean Grey. Engaging in a, needless to say, battle of EPIC proportions The White Crown nearly was defeated by the combined efforts of the brothers in a last ditch effort to salvage victory she called on the one trait humanity had in spades that allowed the inhabit the cosmos' most beautiful planet, their willpower. Drawing on this seemingly bottomless well she summoned the power to banish the brothers to a special pocket dimension of her own design.

    Its host body(Jean) in shambles, the Phoenix had exhausted it's perpetual life span and would have to "rest" before it was reincarnated even stronger than before. Needing a way to protect humanity from the likes of these horrors ever again, The Phoenix decided what better way to protect, than to let me protect themselves. Knowing full well they couldn't directly intervene in earthly affairs, instead she devised ingenious solution. She would rewrite humanities DNA, so in time a portion would evolve via metagene(an opportunistic genetic marker in certain humans that allows them to endure catastrophic physical trauma by developing new abilities--i.e. superpowers) affording themselves protection. This same event also cursed the creatures that abuse the human... One, unable to dwell around or touch anything sacred, Another, susceptible to sunlight... And last, powers affected by moon phases. This also gave humanity a chance to come into and understand their new found gifts and sometimes curses.

    In the nearer present day Africa, Karai Alkaid was "miraculously" born to a clan of all women clan, by their weather manipulating pride an joy, Ororo Monroe(Storm). The child had the white hair and blue eyes signifying his innate aptitude for the mystic arts. But there was a problem, Karai was a male. The likes of which are forbidden within the tribe. Unable to take to chastising, threats and overall unwelcome environment, Ororo fled with her infant son to the heart of the Serengeti Plains, Kenya. Meeting with a contact from their from an equally wealthy and advanced sister nation she regrettably handed over her son before finding her way to the United States. But it was in Africa off the breasts of the Wakandian people Karai flourished not only academically but in his combat tactics and application as well. But that all changed on his 24 birthday when his mutant ability spawn itself, when his mothers tribe, Karai's native people by birth, attacked his adopted home during his coming of passage ceremony...
