• Biography

  Her past is painted in many colors. White, black and red being the boldest colors on the ever scrolling canvas that it could be equated to.
  
  She started off as a simple adventurer as many do wandering the lands, but not nearly as 'ripped' as she is now. Through many victories against lesser creatures and the raiding of many dungeon treasures, she graduated from just 'simple' to profitable. Her aptitude for combat in one on one and group combat earned her the respect of many guilds and companies as a capable fighter. With this respect brought invitations to learn fighting styles and weapons skills that were more difficult to learn or simply more expensive to be learn. If she wasn't adventuring for guilds she was under the tutelage of professionals at their own arts.
  
  Lynora's skills in martial combat won her many votes of confidence and many arena battles, finding her calling at the time with sword and shield. With these she was almost untouchable in single combats. In group battles with other adventurers in the usual guild tasks or defending of smaller towns or properties, she found her place at the front lines defending her fellow man and woman from harm. This went on for some time and life seemed good working for the guild of defenders and treasure hunters she was hired into. Then one day she met Mivari, an axe-wielding feline warrior of crimson pelt that would change her life.
  
  At first it was obvious physical attraction and mutual respect for each other's skills in combat. This of course led to fighting side by side and ending up 'rolling in the hay' more and more often, but despite the growing attachment to each other, there was no worry until Lynora realized just how brutal her new lover could be in battle months after falling in love. She herself was learning the ways of the Paladin, clutching the Light within and growing in power... but she became more aware each day just how dark her other have was becoming. Brutal battles giving no quarter, the passion for killing her enemies. It was obvious Misvari was haunted by the beast within and it was slowly driving her mad.
  
  Eventually Lynora was as skilled at battle as Misvari and they were untouchable, but it would not last. The weak point was the line between them. Misvari knew Lynora was the only thing keeping her from turning into a murdering animal and Lynora knew it too, but Lynora's love was too strong to simply give up on her. As much as Lynora defied what Fate was painting on the tapestry they shared, it was only a matter of time until the Misvari's beast would take over. She was only delaying the inevitable. Misvari kept musing the fact that Lynora was the greatest monster slayer she had known other than herself, but one day she would be one of those monsters, and Lynora would have to make a choice. Fight or die. Every time she brought it up, Lynora had hope it would never occur.
  
  Then the day finally came. It started during a battle in the den of monsters led by a chimera. The battle was difficult but between the two of them and another two adventurers, the den was cleared of evil. Well, almost all of it. After taking one of the heads off the chimera's body, Misvari snapped and became lost in her own rage. The beast within broke free and wanted blood. Another head came off, then she spun around and the mage of the party went down with a throwing axe in his head. Alerted, the cleric tried to cast a repulsing blast to knock Misvari down but the warrior was too strong and cleaved through it... and the cleric's torso.
  
  As the cleric fell into two pieces before the crimson-painted warrior, Lynora yelled and threw her shield, landing a forceful hit and causing Misvari to go tumbling in the dirt. Divine power allowed her to boomerang her shield, but even moments after she had it back on her left arm, Misvari was back up with axe in hand and dashed for Lynora. The nightmare began there. Axe clashed with sword and shield. The Paladin begging the Warrior to lay down her arms. The beast defying their love to taste blood. It wasn't going to end till someone was dead.
  
  The battle went on for easily a half hour before a downward arc by Misvari left an opening for Lynora to counter. By then they had caused one another their fair share of bloody wounds, but this one would end it. Lynora swung her shield into Misvari's guts and stunned her then spun back around and slashed at a downward angle and took the Warrior's head clean from her body. As the body fell over and the head found rest in the chimera's nest, Lynora screamed and cried till she passed out. She was exhausted.. body and spirit.
  
  The next day she awoke and buried her deceased lover, leaving her sword and shield as the headstone within that dungeon's final floor. The axe of her fallen Misvari would become her new weapon. She was good with an axe, having learned from Misvari for many weeks prior to that day, but now she would be a Warrior. Her days as a Paladin ended when she took the life of her beloved.
  
  Many moons have passed and she now wanders again as a monster slayer and mercenary. While proficient with many weapons, her primary is the very same War Axe she took that day long past. Now she is haunted by the guilt and her own inner beast that has grown within. Divinity replaced by rage and passion. She still fights for the good of life and protection but that inner beast gnaws at her Light within.
  
  Will she one day find herself at the same dead end Misvari did?
  Will she win over the beast and live out her days in some wonderful life with or without another?
  Only time will tell. For now, her road leads into the unknown...

• Appearance

  Armored:
  Lynora favors being well protected but retaining as much mobility as possible. For this, she can mainly be found in steel scale mail. Through many battles the once immaculate leather has been well-loved with wear and tear from battles and traveling. Her current chest piece has its leather dyed an ink blue while the blue steel still retains its most of its shine through that same wear and tear. Thick, flat-topped, steel-lined pauldrons offer good shoulder protection while offering full mobility of her arms for fighting and parrying with her axe.
  Her gauntlets are of similar design for high flexibility while retaining reasonable protection.
  Preferring to be bare-footed for, you guessed it, mobility and reflex, she wears greaves that go from ankle up to mid-thigh. Scales, leather and some steel plating renders plenty of protection for her legs.
  All her armor is dyed to match.
  
  Unarmored:
  It's very uncommon she will be wandering around without her armor, plus at this time she has no other clothing due to being on the road so much. Simple undergarments of cloth and leather.

• The Rage mechanic

  During role-play, Lynora's Inner Beast will sometimes become a factor in her actions and reactions, bringing about subtle changes in her demeanor or possibly taking her over temporarily with acts not of her own, ranging from a shorter temper to full blown rage and bloodlust.
  This Rage mechanic will be ever present and at times will be specifically pointed out in parentheses when it rises or lowers at values that will directly affect the RP.

  Short Example:
  Lynora begins to feel bloodlust boiling in her chest as the fight with the darklings rages on. Screams of death sung from her enemies fuel her as her now wicked axe swings cleave flesh and bone. Blood pumps in her veins, her breaths become soft pants and growls, and her usually defensive battle stance becomes more and more offensive somewhat reckless. (Rage 6)

  This example shows that her Rage as a numerical value. Here, we see she's pretty into it and it's at a 6. This scale runs from 1-10, 1 being unaffected by the Beast and 10 being utterly consumed by it for the time being. Obviously, the more Rage there is, the less chance there is of her making wise decisions based on compassion or virtue. Too much Rage will eventually make her 'See Red', viewing companions or even loved ones as possible enemies depending on the circumstance.
  
  Be aware of this mechanic at all times, as it is fuel for the role-play of Lynora. Use it as your character would. Compassionate and/or Good characters would probably try to calm her down while Evil and/or antagonistic characters might try to set her off even more.
  
  Point to be made. Rage will not always go up or down depending on what happens. She could get into a yelling match with someone over something but her Rage won't rise. Sometimes an attempt to subdue her won't work and her Rage may stay at the same value or even rise in reaction. It all depends on her and what is happening around her!
