Last Name: Gariard (she adopted it after learning another meaning for it).
Name Meaning: Nayara means "Wanderer" in the Basque dialect. Gariard on her native language just means "Forest People" however she learned it's also the uncomprised form of the Germanic/French name Gerard: "Gari" would mean "Spear" while "hard" would mean "Brave".

Attitude: She tends to respect and be polite with everybody until they prove her wrong. While she's friendly, she tends to be aggressive mainly with guys who dares to get her on her bad side.

Quirks: Calls her friends with short-names, while she likes beer she never finishes the mug, she don't have the typical neko accent finishing most sentences with nya. Even when surrounded by friends, she feels lonely. She likes to treat slaves as her equal and while she don't likes to be regarded with titles, she secretly finds 'Lady Nayara' pleasant.

Member of a tribe of cat-folk named Gariard (meaning 'forest' [Ga], 'People' [Riard] on their culture), at 20 years, Nayara's village was assaulted by bandits and her family was killed as they tried to protect her. Later she found out the bandits were slave traders and it didn't took too much for the now orphaned woman, owner of an amazonesque beauty, a rare thing among people of her species, to be sold at the first opportunity. Other than the memory in see her parents killed in front of her, she remembers clearly the group's leader, a wolf known as Lorkan the Silvered (named due to a very rare anomaly where some of his race have silver eyes).

Naya's new "home" unfortunately was a brothel. And as soon as she put her foot in the establishment, she was ordered to please 3 patrons at once as a 'test'. This event (along with others that happened during that day) left some deep scars on her mind.

As weeks passed by, despite the bad things happened to her, Nayara still didn't broked in. She managed to endure this new "job" but she really never accepted it. Until, in a certain night after two months since she joined the house, a client tried to force Nayara to do something she never liked to do. Having enough of this, Naya fought back. The result of that was the lost of his eye and virility as well.

The brothel's master obviously was enraged at that and immediately he ordered his guards to take Nayara in the pits to face a strong fighter. Instead to fight for her dignity, she had to fight for her life now. And she was sure even if she ends up winning, she might get killed anyway.

If it's her fate to die there, she would at least give her opponent a hell of a fight!

Despite the odds, Nayara managed to give the opponent a run for his gold coins. Tired and beaten, Naya still managed to get up for her last stand. When everything seemed hopeless to her, the master ordered to stop the fight at once. Intrigued, Naya wondered why she was spared after almost killing a customer in the brothel.

She was told someone wanted to buy her from the brothel's owner impressed by her fighting skills and endurance against a tough opponent, practically saving her life, and wanted to turn the neko as a fighter. Naya was thankful for that man (even when he said clearly it's just business) and embraced her new life as a gladiatrix. During that time, the feline earned some renown due to her aggressiveness and not hesitating to inflict brutal pain when she needed to do and she was called "The Bronze Feline" by some. The title quickly was associated with the neko.

However, one of his servants betrayed him and with that act, he lost a considerable amount of gold. Without any exit to solve this problem. That master had to sell Nayara to another contractor... This is when she heard about the Golden Tether and the scout who bought her made clear strong women like Nayara would be perfect to act as an arena slave.

Since then Nayara became faced opponents stronger than her. For how long she'll fight there she didn't knew but she knew TGT's gladiators might become freed after showing their valor. She was determined to buy her freedom drawing blood from her opponents inside the arena or die trying. She have nothing to lose anyway.

After all, Nayara still have hopes in kill the one who ruined her life...


Her Career in the Tether

Nayara become quite known in the Tether because of her aggressivity in arena fights and being a respectful and dutiful woman specially during the Fungal Infestation the isle suffered. Those qualities caught Crowling Maewood interest and during a morning she claimed ownership over the neko. As time passed by, between arena fights, the neko considered her and Skeith as her new family (altough she never told it to Crowling), specially during the time her mistress became pregnant and she not only served her in those times but also she simply offered herself to help without even the red haired woman ask for it.

During the end of July, Crowling called her for a private conversation and she offered her a contract to be her employee as a Gladiatrix. When she said the contract she was offering is usually given to free people the neko realized she was giving the freedom she so desired and stated she wasn't only a powerful woman but also strong enough to not allow the shackles of enslavement to destroy her dignity.

But even so, she isn't ready to go after Lorkan (in truth, she wasn't expecting to have the opportunity to become free so soon) and also she need to find another reason for her life other than revengeance. Until then, the Tether is her new home.

Or at least this is what she planned.

Nayara realized to try to find a reason to live in the Tether will lead her to nothing and it'll just make her prisoner of this place. With that, she's planning to leave Guildereim for good and search for something that would give her reason to live for, once she achieve her revenge plan.

Once again, something unexpected happened. As she walked in the attrium, Nayara found another neko, altough not from her homeland, named Riko. Immediately Nayara rented then owned her not wanting for the fellow neko face the same hardships Nayara suffered. As soon she claimed ownership over her, the Bronze Feline decided to postpone her revengeance plan for a bit more so she can give her new friend a life not as a slave but as a free woman not in Guildereim but in Etla Isle and until Riko settles on her new life and home, the neko is willing to wait a bit more on her life goal.

Her Future

Nayara finally exacted her revenge after one year away from Guildereim and Etla... The neko struggled to find another reason to live for and used her name and the belief that 'warriors don't goes to Hel' to keep her going believing sooner or later she would find something to worth living and dying for. Thanks to a series of events, coincidentally the neko stepped in Guildereim once again and while she's there, she might as well take the time to rest a bit from her wandering life and enjoy herself engaging in arena fights for a while before she does what she have been doing.

Nayara tends to be a quiet and serious woman. The kind of person who'll not mess with you if you don't mess with her first. Inside the arena, the neko is a very respectful fighter (unless if her opponent don't gives her reason for that) and will not pull and swing or punch against her opponent no matter who although she avoids head slashes and chest stabs with her weapon.

Thanks to months of male abuse during the Orgy House she worked, Nayara shows signs of PTSD regarding men and sex. She isn't going to openly talk with a man unless if they're well acquainted or learns the said man don't shows hints of lecherous behavior (being a religious, having a lover, an 'innocent' nature or some other moral compass of a kind). Still even if said man get past Nayara's first barrier, she isn't going to be comfortable in share the same room with him (save RARE exceptions). Depending of the circumstances, Nayara will have invasive thoughts about this fact of her past and violent reactions.

Nowadays, Nayara kinda overcame her fear/distrust to interact with men. Still, she prefers the company of other women if she's given the choice.

The Koratean [ko-RAH-teh-ahn] Kemononeko is a felinoid race that looks a bit more human in appearance than a typical anthro feline. While predominantly feline in appearance (body covered in a thin layer of fur, tail ears), their faces have a slight feline appearance (limiting usually to eyes, nose and sharp canines. They tend to be stronger and agile than the usual human in comparison.

Nayara is the result of the union between a male human and a female Kemononeko. Her race is called "Koratean Neko" or just Neko. But it's also known, sometimes in a vulgar way, as "The Race of One Gender". Truth is, for some reason, every union of a human and a Koratean Kemononeko ALWAYS results in a female Neko. This breed usually are only agile (but not as agile than a Kemononeko) and don't have the complexion the original race have. Nayara's strength is a rarity. Certainly she got that from her father.

Thanks to this, it's not surprising to say Nekos suffers from social stigma or even hatred from some Kemononekos. Some says it's a profane union, others says it's a way to make the Kemononekos race extinct in a long term. It's not unknown some Nekos to form colonies apart from the civilization and most of them are amazon tribes.
