  She has a single battle scar running across her belly in a partially diagnol slash, from the Cleaver of a Hive Knight. The metal flesh looks to have been fused together, an ugly contrast to the smooth, silver sheen the rest of her body has.

• Biography

  Before the arrival of Oryx, before the slaying of Crota, before the war with the House of Wolves... There was just the usual patrols on Mars for Mariana-10. Repetitive, endless, boring. Not even fighting Cabal tanks and high-ranking individuals, or Vex machine dieties, could truly keep her occupied. She's done it all, and was ready for something new.
  
  That something came in the form of witnessing the Taken King, Oryx, send out his forces and began to subsequently 'Take' or slaughter everything in the Sol System. For months, she and her comrades in Dead Orbit fought the Taken across the red dunes of Mars, the planet's title as the Roman God of War finally being given weight. Phobos, a long-lasting Cabal base, quickly fell to the Taken armies of Oryx, who's massive Dreadnought ruined the rings of Saturn. Eventually, the Taken's attacks became wild and uncoordinated, and word told of Oryx's defeat and retreat from this dimension.
  
  But Mariana would always remember the horrors of the Taken, and would always waken from nightmares of lost comrades, being killed and revived over and over fighting them, and worse. Even an old lover of hers, a Hunter by the nickname of Bolt (he never could remember his real name), to Taken Cabals. His Light was drained, his Ghost killed, and his corpse lost.
  
  Now, she simply goes about fighting the minions of the Darkness wherever she can, her rage being specifically saved for the Taken and Hive.
