  Nora’s mom was born several decades too late, she should have been a flower child during the summer of love but that didn’t stop her from living a nomadic lifestyle in search of enlightenment. Her mother had joined no less than 5 different cults by the time she showed up at her mother’s house pregnant with Nora, swearing that she had conceived from a divine source. It was not long after Nora was born that her mom left again, in search of the next new age religion that would solve all of her problems.
  
  That was how Nora came to be raised by her grandmother, a loving woman but one who was done rearing children so she treated her granddaughter more like a friend than a child. Surprisingly enough, Nora was a pretty good girl despite her lack of authority. She stayed away from drugs but found a strange addiction to cutting or burning herself when she was a teen to help her deal with the strange things that would happen around her. It took awhile, but Nora found out that she had the power to heal people and animals but the gift was a double edged blade and every time she gave life she had to take it from somewhere else. She swore off using her powers except in extreme cases and kept them secret from everyone.
  
  Years later, when Nora finally got herself together she managed to graduate from nursing school and get a job in a hospital, mainly in the accident and emergency department. There on rare cases she uses her power, taking the remaining life from the terminal and giving it to the occasional needy person. She hates it, and loathes herself for allowing herself to be the judge of life and death. Somehow she deals with it, often going out and getting new tattoos so the pain can relax her.
