  • The basics - don't godmode, don't use knowledge learned oocly in rp, don't be petty or immature or pointlessly spiteful.
  • I'm not a stickler about post length - as long as I can read your post and have something to reply to, it's all good. My own personal length is a little over or under a screen in the smallest font, usually.
  • I am vehemently uninterested in sexual situations. I am equally not up for invasive, personal questions or creepy whispers.
  • Run major changes or actions at Saelent - killing blows, attempted mutilation, anything that screams permanent by me first. Otherwise, do what you will - but just because my consent isn't needed doesn't necessarily mean there won't be consequences for what happens.
  • I'm super open to public rp, suddenly being posted at or plotting, but please let me know if you want to rp - trying to subtly lead into it by complimenting my character will usually just end in a grateful thanks and nothing more.

• tl;dr

  Appearance

  Saelent is a low-slung, sleek creature, for all that she shows more than her share of old scars. One could mistake her for a feral dragon at first glance - unlike most of her kind, she has four legs instead of two. But her build is far more sinuous, neck, body and tail longer and leaner than a true dragon's, eyes more blatantly reptilian. Cold-blooded, she's drawn to heat and sluggish in the cold, though wyverns are less affected overall than mundane lizards. And while she can fly, her wings are suited for short distances or gliding.
  
  For a beast whose natural domain is a swamp, she's brilliantly coloured - her scales are predominantly white, but irregularly banded with both vibrant green and black markings. Her wings are no less striking - while a murkier shade of pale green in colour, they're oddly iridescent - like a soap bubble, or perhaps an oilslick. Her eyes are green, with slit pupils, and she also possesses a nictitating membrane that she uses to blink without having to close her eyes. While sinuous, she's well-muscled and more than capable of holding her own in close quarters. She's quite scarred, with thicker and duller patches of scales where they've grown over old wounds, and old scar tissue shows through on the membranes of her wings.
  
  There aren't many greater wyverns left - many hunt them, mistaking them for unusually weak dragons, and dragons themselves don't look too kindly on their cousins imitating them. Those left are solitary hunters, rarely seeing others of their kind for years at a time, and have honed their natural abilities well. Here, Saelent is no different. Her natural weapons are many; each foot boasts a set of sharp claws, four on her hind and three on her forefeet, her jaws have entirely too many teeth and her tail is tipped with a menacing heavy barb. Sharp spikes bristle, thorn-like, at the back of her head and trail down her long neck until tapering away at her back.

  
  

  Abilities

  Like all wyverns, she is incredibly venomous - even her blood is toxic. Folded away at the roof of her mouth is a pair of hollow fangs, and she has venom glands there and near her tail, meant to inject venom through the barb or into anyone she bites into. Less common is her more potent ability: she can secrete and mix chemicals to create acid, which she's capable of spitting with pinpoint accuracy. It eats through most organic tissue and wood, and wears down metal. She can also diffuse the acid and exhale a vapour of it, less effective but better at covering an area.
  
  Painstakingly, and unusually for her kind, she has taught herself how to speak Common. Her command of it is rough - extended speeches are difficult for her and she'll speak in broken fragments, supported by body language, as long as what she means is still clear.

  
  

  Personality

  Armed with the certainty of an apex predator, Saelent is often difficult to get along with. She has the savagery of a dangerous beast, backed up by opportunistic cunning and a gleeful delight in proving her strength or causing harm to others. She actively enjoys bloodshed, and the thrill of a pitched battle is superior to even the finest hunt. This makes her often provocative and overtly threatening, goading a situation or causing trouble so she can get the battle she craves.
  
  But her thirst for combat does not make her stupid. She had it beaten into her years ago that there were some fights she could not win, and while her acknowledgement of her betters is often grudging or graceless, she does know when to give way or grovel or simply surrender. Her pride is flexible, and staked upon her combat prowess - nothing more, nothing less. Outside of battle, she is contemptuous of ordinary slaves and often lazily mocking, but when not fighting she is more than content to sprawl around in a heap of scales, basking in the sun or sardonically watching events without lifting a claw. Uninterested in the often complex hierarchies of the Tether or the ambitions of others, she's focused on spending as much of her life as possible in the heat of battle. Even the matter of whether she's a slave or free pales in comparison to that.
  
  Dedicated relationships aren't exactly common - her species is solitary to begin with, but the truth is that Saelent is used to being far more social than most, if only since she's spent a great deal of time in constant company. Her general approach to others is to treat them with mocking disdain, while superiors are shown calculated respect and caution. Enemies come naturally enough, as grudges and a certain level of vindictive venom are expected of something both poisonous and intelligent. But the real mystery is that somehow Saelent is quite capable of friendships, which baffles both her and likely everyone involved. Those she cares for are usually classified as favoured prey or opponents, people who she wants to die at her fangs - but not now, just... eventually. And until then, she's inclined to make sure no one else kills them, and generally spend as much time in their company as possible. It's an undeniably territorial bond - but a positive, even affectionate one all the same.

  • OOCly: Some tutelage with aspects and the arena system! I'm rusty and mostly unfamiliar with it, and since I'd like Sae to be a gladiator once more, it would be a good idea to get the hang of things.
  • All rp: Saelent is an old, old character, currently being revamped, and I'd love for her to rack up interactions.
  • Owner: Pretty self-explanatory, though I'd prefer to go through a few separate interactions before she's purchased by anyone, just to ensure it's a dynamic we both enjoy.
  • Fights: A former gladiator, Saelent is an accomplished fighter and more than willing to take anyone on.
  • Friends: A daunting prospect normally, but Saelent is quite fond of anyone else as bound to bloodshed as she is, and can be even considerably loyal to those whose strength she respects.
