The Red Mother

The Begining

• When the Earth was created the process left behind residual energy, and from these energies sentient beings were born. In their youth they simply watched, studied and waited, evolving along with the earth as it grew. They would soon learn how to manipulate matter, this becoming some of the first semblance of magic. They lived in harmony with Mother Nature, ripening their knowledge though the simple minds of animals. It wasn't till Humans came that these energies changed, as they found something almost satisfying from the potency of complex human emotion. They guise themselves in religion, becoming what most would call God, their power seeming infinite and invincible. Their power was truly something to fear, and the world near fell to them until a hero discovered the power of their true names. Symbols, lost in time, to be carved into metals and cursed with magic the likes of which we will never know again. This hero didn't kill the beings however, just sealed them away in various weapons to be scattered across the earth, in deep seas, underground, and dark caves, never to be discovered again. All history of them was destroyed, burned and broken, leaving not a trace of them for fear it would give them power to return. One did however discover how to return, sharing her soul with that of a mortals she was able to begin a road back to her former power, and go searching for her brethren....

• The God Herself.

  Mo comes from a time before times, predating history. She has gone by many names throughout, appearing across many different cultures. Some had been known to destroy and deny the history of her, fearing it would attract the creature back. As the story says, she could be banished for a few years but not killed for the longest time, until a Hero of lore discovered her true name through a symbol, it is said his very will to kill her was what gave him the power to banish her to a sword. Though she was not the only one of these beings, as she had those she called brother, other beings created like her that all respectively had their own taste in human emotion. All sealed in seperate weapons and cast to different parts of the world. Mo is the first to have discovered how to escape. The hero then threw the sword down a bottomless pit, never to be seen again, but nothing stays underground, specially something holding in the will of an omnipotent being.
  
  It somehow, someday found itself in the hands of a girl. She was weak and sickly and easily overcome by it. She was promised beauty and power, and as anyone who didn't have such things she took it, gave herself to the being. But the Goddess underestimated the power of the symbol, it caused their souls to fuse, bound her to a mortal form and left her with many of the weaknesses of a common man and their emotions. The symbol is now burned into the flesh of her right palm, and she now holds some control over it, it still surprises her. Keeping a lot of her prior power, amplified by the pleasure and energy of her worshipers. She finds new body's every so often, preferring virgin women, she found it easier to exploit the hearts of both men and woman a like with a buxom, young beauty.
  
  Her power among most beings, both mortal and supernatural were pleasing, it rippled off of her in an energy that engulfed you. It was sheer euphoria, it made you feel calm though completely in control, you'll feel a warmth in your belly and your loins, it could be described as orgasmic. As suggested the closer you are to her the more it effects you, though it creeps on you can can take time to build into something too overwhelming. The effect will wear off all depending on how long you are with her and how long you are away. So most people who visit her will feel the effects wear off within hours of being out of range, though the want for the feeling may linger, as it something that can not be felt without her, it is like a drug.
  It is said though that she has these vials of a golden, honey like liquid that tastes better then anything every tasted, it was sweet, and warm and it coated the throat down to the belly. The warmth would pulse and vibrating, soon taking over the entire body. You will feel younger, stronger, more confidant, generally all the same effects you get when in her presence only ten fold.
  
  Your libido will rise ten fold and sex will feel as if you touched nirvana. Old wounds won't hurt, you will heal faster and you will think more clearly and move faster. It is her essence and when ingested it causes a similar ripple effect as her own powers for the time it is in effect. You will find others will be nicer around you, lovers will be more then pleased with you, and drawn to you, and all the other goodies explained about though only in a lesser effect.
  
  She creates this potion using two things, her own blood and the blood of a virgin, preferably of the same gender as her body at the time. The two are fresh dripped over a pot of some secret potion of strange and almost unknown things. As anything that makes you feel good, it can cause addiction and also her own effects to overcome quicker.
  
  As stated before, if time is spent away from her it will eventually ware off, less they remain in her sanctuary while she is not with them. It mimics all the same feelings less Mo herself denies the person such things. This is a conscious effort on her part and she'd rather not do it. Overtime one can succumb to it all, pitch into euphoric madness, crack. The goddess seems to enjoy this, though she also will do what she can to keep it from happening before someones use is used up.
  
  She is of course stronger in her home, and also stronger amongst those who worship her. And many do worship her, would die for her, and she feeds off of that, revels in it. She has her own order that functions as a pocket religion, mostly confined to the walls of the Sanctuary itself to be near the Goddess.
  Legend states she enjoys the hunt of manipulating people to worship her, its one thing to have someone give themselves willing, its another to slowly make them submit and turn them to see her as something more to them. She is a snake oil salesman, giving people their every wish and desire, building them up with spoken contracts that they will find they cannot break when they cannot hold up their end of the bargain.
  Some say she can love, others say she is a heartless creature for all but her connection to nature. She was born of the earth all those years ago and she respects it and draw power from it. Plant life will grow towards her and at an alarming rate, and animals are also drawn to her and will usually fight for her if need be. She has been known to go running with packs of wolves, or play fighting with bears, and will seek revenge when those animals within her circle that are harmed as it almost seems she can feel their pain.
  
  She would rather have worship then death, and will genuinely try and make someone come to her side before she will resort to such. This does not mean she is not evil, she is by far a being of dark, unknown things not to be trifled with easily. She is sadistic, narcissistic and cunning, and will manipulate and prey on people. Even if you anger her the repercussions will be slow and torturous, she will make you fear turning a corner for a very long time before she will deal with you. She'd rather see someone suffer for injustices against her rather then simply kill them.
  
  Though one cannot deny she was a forced to be reckoned with, and not to be angered on trivial things, for she would surely wish to see you suffer for your mistakes, just as much as she'd love to pad you for your glories. She is the devil on your shoulder, not to be trusted, but it was so hard to deny it. She doesn't lie when she tells you she will give you something, though nothing comes at a cheap price. Tit for tat, and she usually seems to expect nothing more then extreme, unyeilding gratitude for the aid.
  
  Her sword still exsists, the one she was sealed in, tucked away somewhere in her temple and very safe from any wishing to try and capture it. For it is a leash which she is tethered to, some backup magics to ensure future people could have some control over the beasts, lest it was in the creatures own hands.
  
  Still there is a lot of unknown things about the woman, histories destroyed and lost in time, and things yet to be discovered....
