  Alex had somewhat of a normal upbringing until the concept of preferring to be identified as the opposite gender occurred to him as a pre-teen. His parents were a gay couple that adopted him as a baby, and at first saw their daughter being tomboyish as adorable; even praising Alex, and facilitating the behavior. It only dawned on them that it might have been a bad idea to do so when Alex balked at being referred to as a "girl" or any of the pronouns associated with femininity. He was always a little too spoiled, and when told no, would resort to outlandishly bad behavior to get his way.
  Being young enough to believably crossdress, his parents didn't see it as something that could be too harmful, but as Alex neared puberty, he was looking less boyish, and more like a pretty young girl. He matured mentally, and his attitude improved by then, but his feelings revolved around having himself properly categorized as a male only solidified with years of practicing it. Suddenly growing breasts, bleeding out from between his legs, and being taller than everyone else in his class complicated things, to say the least.
  
  The Fuchs' caved in to Alex' persistent distress pressuring them into seeking alternative help, and long story short, he was prescribed testosterone which at least gave him the outward appearance of a male. Throughout his teenage years, he didn't do much of anything with anyone beyond aggravatingly platonic dating, kissing, and dry humping, because when you're a freak, word travels fast.
  Pretty much until adulthood, he weaseled out of peoples' grasp in terms of letting their relationships develop into anything serious to avoid disappointing his partners who presumed him to be a biological male. The only times he feels relatively free to be promiscuous is around strangers whose opinions he has no real concern for. It's a little tolling on him emotionally, as he's rather social, and the idea of having someone close to him is something he wants, but under current circumstances, he finds his body too undesirable to be open about it with someone he had feelings for in fear of rejection, or public humiliation.

  With a surname as sleazy-sounding as "fucks," it's unsurprising that Alex had a rough time getting anywhere near a soundboard considering how heavily regulated radio broadcasters are by the F.C.C., but with his dads' support, he eventually got his foot in the door. Right now, he's damn near the bottom of the totem pole; screening calls in a California news talk station that's being threatened to have its format flipped to top 40 hits bullshit. Even with the highest ratings of consistent listenership in the country.
  Really, Alex doesn't need a job, but after having been practically babied to death by his parents, some independence (and personal space) was nice. Now he's not entirely sure he made a great career decision, but the last thing he'd want to do is admit defeat by asking for help. Over the years, he's developed quite a few possible misconceptions about what it is to be a man, and being able to stand on his own two feet is one of them. Even if it means he's only able to stand on them by dumpster diving, and living in his car.
  
  Things haven't gotten that bad yet, thankfully, but Alex is bracing himself for the biggest financial assraping of his life once its time for the show he works for to renew its contract; selling off valuables, potentially-stolenables, and anything big or heavy. If you saw his apartment, you'd think he was robbed, and he knows his fathers would think the same, or realize something was up. They've got an inkling, -- especially Bottom Dad, whose specialty happens to be making living spaces look fabulous year round, -- that something's wrong, but with Alex being a crafty little fuck by arranging to meet them in other locations only to give them the slip with some other business he needs to take care of, they're probably not gonna find out any time soon.
