  Appearance

  Iva looks younger than he is. He has a 'boyish' appearance, being on the shorter side and not weighing too much. He is mostly lean muscle, and struggles to gain weight despite trying continually.
  
  His messy, black hair falls around his ears and often hangs in his face. His eyes are strikingly dark-- almost, seemingly, black. A few freckles dot the bridge and end of his nose... Exclusively his nose. He suffers from occasional outbreaks of acne on his back (less often his face), as a side-effect of taking testosterone. Iva has a somewhat 'feminine' face, having wide, crimson lips and dark eyelashes. His roman nose is inherited from his father-- the freckles from his mother.
  
  He wears a lot of clothes that he has outgrown, being unable to replace them. Having decided not to undergo surgery, he takes better care of his binder than he does the rest of his wardrobe. Even that is ill-fitting. He mostly wears t-shirts and comfortable jumpers/ sweaters, with jeans and combat boots (the only pair of shoes he owns). If he wears a jacket, it'll be his oversized, grey duffle coat.

  Personality

  Desensitizing himself to violence helps Iva to cope with the psychological impact of the attack. He likes anything with a military aesthetic, and is fond of war films. Once, as a child, Iva aimed his bow at his mother's head. It was then that Josephine realised she had lost all governance over her child.
  
  Iva is arbitrary at best, and much of his mother's neurosis has rubbed off on him. He dislikes other people and will avoid them whenever possible. He has zero trust for strangers. He says very little (partly due to his restricted vocabulary), and will hold a grudge forever. He takes brutal honesty like tea. Iva is unnervingly calm-- somehow at the same time as looking perpetually pissed off.

• History

  Iva was born and raised on the outskirts of Munich, Germany. His mother, Josephine Hoffman, left his father around the time she discovered she was pregnant. She only married the man for German citizenship, after her family emigrated from the country when she was a child. Alois Schneider was kept out of Iva's life-- never mentioned, the topic promptly changed should he ask about his father. Josephine despised men, that much quickly became clear to Iva. She was overjoyed when she gave birth to a baby girl. She was horrified when her daughter informed her that she wanted to be a boy. Josephine did everything in her power to mould Iva into the perfect, god-fearing young woman. Modest and disciplined.
  
  Josephine was extremely over-protective (as well as neurotic) though not for love of her child. Iva's education was delayed by a year as his mother feared sending him 'out into the world'. She would often turn up during the school day with an excuse as to why she had to take Iva home. His education suffered, as did his relationships. He found it difficult to interact with the other children-- lacking both the knowledge and the desire to do so. Iva only remained in education until the age of ten (attending Grundschule). At which time Iva withdrew to his home property, thus never enrolling in higher education or passing any exit exams. This left him unable to enroll in university in the future. Homeschooling is illegal in Germany, and Iva left compulsary education below the legal age. Hence, his mother rarely let him leave the property.
  
  The law caught up with the family, and Josephine was eventually questioned over her son's education (and welfare). By which time, Iva had already eloped, at the age of sixteen. Josephine was committed to the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry, Munich, shortly after.
  
  Iva went to the same hospital, after leaving his childhood home, in search of someone he'd met whilst visiting the child psychologist (over the worrying things he'd been saying to other children). Adrain Wolff, a professor of radiology. When they'd met before, Wolff had spoken to Iva about his interest in modern medicine. Radiology seemed like a bizzare thing for an eight-year-old to be intrigued by. Iva wanted to know everything. He ended up being late for his appointment.
  
  Later, at sixteen, Iva was seeking an an education. Wolff took him on as an apprentice, allowing him to shadow his work between the Max Planck Institute and the Deutsches Herzzentrum München. The two of them became very close during their commuting between the two hospitals. Wolff eventually allowed Iva- who'd been sleeping at the houses of friends- to live with him. By which time, Iva was seventeen-- almost eighteen. As he was almost a legal adult, Wolff thought 'adopting' him to be less risky. Iva's time with Wolff was short-lived. Though he had once looked up to the professor, Iva became increasingly paranoid that Wolff was a sexual predator. He lost all faith in the doctor, who claimed he was concerned over Iva's health and began watching him almost 24/7.
  
  Iva disappeared once again, albeit taking with him the education that Wolff had provided. By the age of eighteen, he had managed to land himself a job with a small, independant radio station-- where his interest in telecommunications came to fruition. Whilst working at the station building, Iva had nowhere to live. He moved between the houses of three friends, who would induct him into their-- unbeknownst to Iva-- facist gang. Life was relatively simple and mundane...
  
  Shortly after Iva's twenty-second birthday, his 'friends' discovered that he was transgender, and attacked him. Iva was lured into an alleyway where he was stabbed and thrown into a dumpster. Left to die.
  
  Iva survived. He is still recovering from the mental and physical trauma of the attack-- but will insist that he's fine. He manages to maintain his job with the radio station, and usually resides at his old family home. It has been condemned. As far as the legal aspects go, the house is unoccupied. Iva is currently on leave from work, and has ventured outside of Germany for the first time in his life.
