    At the very least the Institute was most definitely destroyed. However, the fate of the BoS seems like it might remain more ambiguous. While it seems the ending with the Minutemen is the most probable canon given their significance, if the East Coast BoS were destroyed canonically along with the Prydwen seems difficult to say. It might be all three factions make it through all right and at peace, which seems most likely of Bethesda.

  "Wildman"
  This is a hated nickname - Maximal, derived from "Max the Animal" and a play on his fury in battle and "raider" tendencies, was accepted to combat the (more) unpleasant implications of the other. Unfortunately, some aspects of his nature are far too similar to deny, making the moniker all the more despised.
  
  Now that he's living among the people of the wasteland and often having diplomatic interactions with raiders on the behalf of traders, he finds the name Maximal has taken on much greater meaning and value. It's been fully adopted -'Maxwell' is both a name and identity he associates with the life he left behind, one that never really suited him to begin with. It's best left there.

  Maxie was (presumably) born around 2252, somewhere in or around the area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - better known as The Pitt. Sadly, he isn't certain of his birthday or exact age, as the details of his origins are not entirely clear.

  Hair:

  A deep auburn red with gray yet to creep in except perhaps in shaggy sideburns and beard, texture rather straight if windblown and with a low wave only showing when longer. It's short and scruffy, about as well kept as beard rarely cut down to goatee - to accompany are thick, slightly hooked eyebrows. There is a distinct widow's peak in his hairline. Max is also a rather hirsute man with abundant body hair.

  A very dark and deep blue - rich, warm, and frequently troubled. Maxie is also myopic and tends to squint a lot in order to make out fine details in the distance.

  Complexion:

  An uneven and weather worn face, fair-skinned with a light ruddy wash - rather prone to flaking and harsh sunburn. A pattern of heavy freckling covers his entire body - splashed absolutely all over, varied spots and speckles and smears of pigmentation are spray painted across his features sporadically, in some places clustering - like the river of congested freckles crossing the bridge of his nose between cheekbones. There are numerous and varied scars across his body.

  ...

  A lesser "psyker" of sorts who managed to hide his ability for most of his life: he possesses a seemingly natural affinity for and a psychic suggestion over feral beasts. This empathic connection gives him a compassion towards mutants most of those raised into the brotherhood lack - one that never faded, regardless of what he was raised to believe.
  
  When actively using his power of suggestion over them, this mutation appears much like that seen in the tribal beastlords recorded to have lived near St. Louis a century ago or the infamous AntAgonizer. Unfortunately including a similar unpleasant inclination towards an unacceptable diet, something that frightens him and he goes out of his way to suppress.
  
  Whatever the origin of his curious mutation, it was surprisingly easy enough to hide as the Brotherhood of Steel had limited interaction with animals - something that was primarily considered a trait of raiders and too much of a liability beyond livestock. It was the discipline and access to regular meals that allowed him to curb his darker inclinations.

• Attire

  A fan of t-shirts and flannel shirts, sometimes double layers of long sleeved shirt and short sleeved button up, with pocketed pants or patched jeans, combat boots, fingerless gloves, and a reinforced heavy jacket of some kind. Is prone to collecting knick-knacks on his jacket and simple bracelets. It varies quite a bit depending on what he manages to hold on to or come across.
  
  Is distinctively myopic and wears glasses; currently has a pair of classic horn-rimmed, the kind with the thick black half-frames and squared feeling. Max tries to keep them in good condition, but they're pretty scratched up - he's always looking for new pairs.
  
  While he isn't entirely sure of why, he tells himself for identification in the case of his demise, he still wears and hides his BoS holotags under his shirt.

  Maximal is a rather emotional and instinct driven individual, some might even say primal at times - full of a raw curiosity and energy that never really suited the Brotherhood like his skills in combat did. The temper he can harness as a weapon makes it hard to believe that outside of battle, he is a compassionate and gentle man with an interest in animals and enjoying the simple things in life. Max loves to have fun and comes equipped with an excellent sense of humor, at times an even childish one if always good-natured. It's important to him that people remember to laugh, no matter how dark the world around them gets.

• Lucy

  Maxie has a mutant hound named Lucy; she is an excitable and happy dog, mysteriously intelligent in the way some supermutants retain their minds. She's big enough to be rather effective as a pack animal, happily carrying around his belongings in a pair of tailored saddlebags. What passes for a collar is made from two old wide and long belts.

• Beast Whisperer:
  
  This mutation resembles an advanced form of Animal Friend with some traits from Wasteland Whisperer, giving him influence over a wider array of 'beasts'.
  
  While his abilities do extend to deathclaws, feral ghouls, and supermutants to some degree depending on their intelligence, they do not affect any arthropods like radscorpions, radroaches, giant ants, mirelurks, etc.
  
  It comes with plenty of drawbacks, not as simple as full mental control - more of a strong psychic suggestion, the more complex control he tries to exert, the more he seems to harm himself mentally and to a lesser degree, physically. It's a taxing experience to 'steer' another animal, escalating with their strength of mind. They seem to naturally relax in his company and that's enough for him.

  Cannibal | Hematophage
  Maxie occasionally craves the flesh and blood of others (especially in times of dire need) and is fully capable of consuming it without ill side effect as part of his mutations. It isn't something that he's particularly pleased about and certainly not something he pursues to make a part of his identity. This means he has no kindness for those like him who actively pursue the flesh of innocents and take no steps to manage themselves, secondarily frightened to be influenced by them and therefore avoidant.

  Maximal's Mace

  A unique bludgeoning weapon that resembles more of a cudgel or kanabo. It's a hefty weighted slugger that has been modified with metal plates and rows of thick studs.

  
  Expertly trained in power armor and likely even concealing his old gear somewhere, but prefers combat armor these days for range of motion. Similarly, while efficiently trained in energy and heavy weapons, he seems to prefer pistols, shotguns, and melee weaponry. It may be he has tired of seeing enemies reduced to a pile of unpleasant goo. Isn't at all fond of distance either unless he absolutely must go on the offensive in that way, feeling opposed to what he feels are tactics lacking honor - it doesn't help that his eyesight isn't the best and his glasses only help so much. A lousy sniper, but agile, enduring, and strong. While power armor offered distinct protection, he has been enjoying his freedom to move and has been training hard to improve his freerunning skills.
  
  Among his favorite non-projectile weapons are a machete and much beloved macelike slugger bat. They see much greater use then his .44 or double-barrel.
  
  Knowledge:
  
  While he was raised into the BoS and has plenty of learned knowledge, his aptitude for the sciences is lacking - he's by no means an unintelligent man, even a clever one with among the best education someone in the wasteland can even have, but he has no real passion for technology. Is good with hands on things like building, crafting, farming, fighting - not using computers, mixing chemicals, or working with numbers.
  
  However, is fairly decent with a lot of machinery - vehicles and vertibird in particular. Is a decent tinkerer, putting what he does know to use in repairing and altering weaponry and armor. A pretty dependable handyman who is also a fair farmer and construction worker. Is only half acceptable with a lock - beyond standard doors and cabinets don't expect too much.
