Alana Ramirez

I love Star Wars and am happy to RP in almost any conceivable era or setting of it. My one "no" is any RP involving a Gray Jedi. I've seen too many of them who are just edgelords or special "chosen ones", who can use both the Light and Dark Side in perfect harmony because they're so special that thousands of years of studying the Force didn't disclose such things to lesser practioners. I'm burnt out on it and I find the concept lore-breaking. I'm not interested. A non-conventional Jedi, like Qui-Gon Jinn, or Force-user like Ashoka, is fine.

The Jedi Order has stood for millenia as a force of peacekeeping, justice, and and devotion to the Light Side of the Force. With a history stretching back thousands of years and myriad, notable members, it's an esteemed organization with a long tradition of noble deeds.

Alana only hopes she can do that reputation justice.

The Order is the only family she's ever truly known and she was almost passed up for training before her Master chose her. She considers herself fortunate and hasn't lost all of her naivety where the true nature of the universe is concerned. Unfortunately, her Knighthood came just in time for the eruption of the Clone Wars. Alana now finds herself a soldier rather than a peacekeeper and she hasn't decided how she feels about that role. With all Jedi now honorary Generals in the Republic Army, she's expected to lead... with no idea how to.

She's got to hit the ground running and do her part. The war saddens her, it feels unnecessary, but it's come to violence and now Alana only hopes the Jedi can help restore the peace.

Default Setting: Clone Wars but will alter to any from Knights of the Old Republic to New Jedi Order. She can also be a Jedi in hiding, trying to evade the Empire (this will almost certainly have a bad ending).

Alana grew up with tales of the Clone Wars and how bad they'd gotten. She had family who'd served in the Republic Navy and transitioned into the Imperial Fleet when Palpatine saved the galaxy from the Separatists and Jedi both. She's from the old blood nobility of the Republic, the ones who remained loyal to the cause even when the chips were down, and now proudly serve as part of the New Order.

Alana joined up as soon as she was old enough to do so, as was expected for all members of her family. She distinguished herself early on as a capable pilot and was soon in the Imperial Academy. A natural with a flight stick, she was a squadron leader there and quickly distinguished herself through tactical simulations as well as practical skill. She's young but naïve too. She hasn't seen how the Empire treats the "other half". If aliens are discriminated against it's only a natural outlook since most the Confederacy was made up of aliens as well... right?

Alana proudly serves as a TIE Interceptor pilot, defending the Empire from all external threats and Rebels who'd plunge the galaxy into chaos again.

Default Setting: Rebellion Era but will alter to New Order or Sith Empire (KOTOR). She can be Force-Sensitive if desired, otherwise she's a skilled but non-Force using pilot with a quick trigger finger and keen reflexes.

OOC: Alana isn't an evil, soulless being in thrall to the Emperor. By the time of the Battle of Yavin, Emperor Palpatine has been in power for nearly three decades. His rule is all she's known and Imperial rule is the status quo. Her parents remember the frightening years leading up to the Clone Wars, the campaigns against the Confederacy, and the duplicity of the Jedi.

The past shows Emperor Palpatine single-handedly saved billions, bringing the Republic back from the brink of anarchy. At a time when a strong hand was required to control the Senate and the corruption that riddled it, the Emperor was unafraid to do what needed to be done. He ensured that peace and prosperity became the right and privilege of every loyal Imperial citizen. History is written by the victor and the Emperor's victory of the Jedi has been told and retold a thousand times.

The rebels who oppose Imperial rule are remnants of the Separatist Movement, displaced Senators, Jedi fanatics, and criminals fueled by the same greed and corruption that pervaded the Old Republic. They're terrorists who use cowardly tactics. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom even as some of those freedoms must be sacrificed since the alternative is unthinkable.

What exists outside the Empire? The lawlessness of the Outer Rim territories, Hutt space, and other systems under the sway of rebel propaganda or criminals. The war has to be waged there too. It's a crime to deny them the benevolence of Emperor Palpatine's rule and in a generation or two they'll thank him for his efforts. As a loyal citizen of the Empire, Alana knows the war is horrible but it has to be prosecuted. She knows a number of people who've lost loved ones to rebel terrorism or who have family members serving in the Imperial army and navy. They're selfless individuals, putting the well-being of the New Order before their own, and risking their lives for the greater good. Their sacrifices can't have been made in vain.

Alana and other Imperial citizens might seem deluded but they don't have the benefit of OOC knowledge of their universe or the evil pervading the highest levels of their government. They take many factors for granted and are rewarded with a semblance of normality and order.
