The man is a powerhouse of dichtonomy, perpetually stuck in the grey between his true calling and an against-all-odds sympathy he's discovered himself to harbour for the disparaged human race. Rummaging within the minds of those stricken by the current state of their world gives you insight into the reasoning behind madness behind man and when it matches up to your personal insanity, you're unwilling to condemn the broken. It means throwing yourself under the bus, too.

He's hardly a good person. Tailored by hell, his morals are bound to be incredibly questionable. A man wholly fighting for himself and nobody else, unless benefits are promised, Vasil or Sadriel dropped to Sin City already prepared for its cruel streets, ready to conquer from day one. Power is dangerous, even more so when it's collared and coupled with brutal ambition. He hasn't gotten his due, he feels, having spent an eternity in hell for crimes he committed but does not deem worthy of punishment. Ego is his biggest vice, clearly, and more so even now, roaming the streets of a place where 'Kill or Be Killed' is the pinnacle of survival. He's made it through worse, crawled his way out indoctrinated with hierarchy and knows where to put those lesser than him - underneath the sole of his shoe. Empathy is not something inborn... no, it must be learned. He has the potential for humanity. Will he choose it?

n i g h t m a r e s ... As a nightmare demon, he has full reign over the bad bits of the dream realm. Creating, as well as desroying bad visions, tainting dreamscapes with his own little creations made of golden dust. He can't enter someone's consciousness, make no mistake, he's not that powerful, nor can he scour heads for information. His rule is only over the sleeping subconscious. Feeds off not only fear, but nightmares too. Capable of making a twisted dreamscape implode until there isn't a horror in sight. Double-edged sword, right there.

h e a l i n g ... Fix up wounds by filling them up nicely with his dust. Closing them up. Not untouchable, but close.

s e n s i t i v i t y ... The demon can sense those troubled and wrought and is quick to pursue them. Other than misery, he's quick to spot magic as well. It doesn't bode well with his abilities.

H I S T O R Y

Chucked into the fiery pits of hell for being a power-hungry leech, Sadriel didn't start off as a nightmare demon. He was something far worse that hell mellowed down into tolerability. He plagued the minds of those awake and asleep alike, drove them insane for the hell of it. He stood behind kings and queens and guided their hand to ruin, started wars for his own entertainment, claimed lives upon lives upon lives until even his own kin grew tired of imbalance and threw him to the big wolves, where Big Daddy had plans for his reckless child.

78 days in Hell

Day 1
Receives a brutal beating upon returning back home. Many broken bones, whippings, humiliation, stonings and a few consecutive burnings. Skin stripped off bones. Gold whisps reconstruct his body. Not much mental damage.

Day 2
Similar treatment. Torture mainly focused on prolonged and intense physical pain. Has his left hand cut off.

Day 15
They break his mind and invade his head two weeks in. They pull out every loving memory, dream and aspiration and taint them with jeering and humiliation, horrifying visions and illusory terrors; hey throw all that he's done back in his face. They create perfect worlds for him, reunite him with his loved ones, let him hold and kiss them and then rip them away from him. They put her beautiful face on and make her laugh in his face, make her hurt him, make her abandon him and hate him and destroy him by just standing there and watching him hurt. He cries for the first time two weeks in.

Day 24
They gut him for the first time. Slices from neck to abdomen that expose his pulsing insides and make him scream his throat hoarse. They find it most fascinating to torture him in this way. They like that his skin struggles to close and his arteries try to stop bleeding even as they continue to hack. They enjoy that his body fights even as he is unconscious.

Day 40
The days blur together. Martyrdom blurrs together amongst burnings, beatings, cutting and humiliation.

Day 58
It's never really her... thankfully, it's not her screaming i hate you, but neither is it really her whispering sweet nothings to him. It's always them tainting her image, playing with his head and he doesn't... he doesn't know anymore. If she's real at all, if she ever existed at all.

Day 62
In the pinnacle of his desperation, she finds him. She actually finds him. He sees her face and it's not a mirage of his twisted mind, she's real. Limned red and gold by the fires of hell, submerged in his world by her own choosing. He makes her leave. She cannot free him. The only way she can help him is by surviving. Living on for him.
