  Sunshine—she was sunshine personified. It was, perhaps, the perfect word to truly define the effervescent presence that was the lovely Miss Caroline Anne Summers. She held warmth to her presence that was undeniable, manifesting through an all too infectious smile... something she was rarely, if ever, seen without. Every one of her mannerisms carried a vibrancy that few possessed. A veil of long, dark lashes curled above a pair of blazing green eyes that carried the breadth of her emotions, dancing when she laughed or darkening when she cried; they took center-stage just above a dusting of freckles that kissed her cheeks and the bridge of her petite nose. Her skin had a natural sun-kissed glow, offset by golden curls left often in beautiful disarray. Wide-eyed and carefree, she was a light in a darkening world, living carefree and without worry for what was to come—even with the end on the horizon.
  

  

  
  

  History

  A little picture of perfection, born to parents unable to support the burden a child would put upon their drug addled lives. She was abandoned by them to live with and be raised by her grandmother, and it turned out to be for the best—six months later, the pair had been found Romeo and Juliet style, overdosing on whatever drug was popular that month. Her grandmother taught her the usual life skills, but she also taught her how to make soap and maintain a garden. The pair could be seen every weekend at the local farmer’s market, selling their produce and toiletries to anyone who showed an interest. These skills would, no doubt, come in handy later in life—the world was headed down a path of no return, although no one truly knew the severity. When Caroline turned 14, she noticed that something was wrong with her grandmother. Dementia, as it turned out, was a wicked beast that ravaged the woman she once knew. The entirety of her world was turned upside down the day her grandmother died a year later, and she spread her ashes in the wind as per her request.
  
  She lasted another six months in her grandmother’s home alone before the itch to run got the better of her. After a year of wandering, living amongst the homeless and on the good graces of others, she ended up in a little community in Oregon where she would, for a little while, settle down. It was also here that she would meet the man who would become her husband, Sebastian Lenchantin, a full year into living with her newfound family. After they had been together for a year, she and Sebastian decided to make things “official” by getting married—the impending end-of-the-world made this sort of thing a bit more complicated, but stealing a marriage certificate and calling it a done deal was good enough for her. In the summer of 2021, she married the man of her dreams and life was perfect. Four years later, she gave birth to their first and only child, Liam Max Lenchantin. Though the world was ever-changing and it was a terrible idea to bring new life into it, she loved him with everything she had and was determined to raise him through everything despite the obstacles.
  
  During the seven years that followed, life was a picture of post-apocalyptic perfection. She and Sebastian raised Liam as close to normal as they could despite the circumstances of the world around them. As with everything, all good things must come to an end… something Caroline had never believed but would soon learn. Meeting the Tall Man would no doubt turn their lives upside down, and end Caroline’s short before it ever truly began. She and Liam were burned alive together with Sebastian bound and left only able to watch on in horror. Her only request was that he be given one last token of love from her, a note reading: ‘Live on, my love. Do not let the world turn you to stone.’
