  The metal railings groaned at the weight bearing down on it as a large man in an even larger jacket juggled his weight from one leg to another. Out of boredom, Maverick grabbed a piece of rusted rebar sticking out and it came off cleanly without as much as a snap.
  
  "Woah there! I didn't think it'd actually—" His sudden outburst was met with an instantly cold set of eyes, throwing daggers at him for disrupting the important meeting.
  
  Everyone in the room stopped talking as he stood there by the doorway with a broken piece of metal in his hand. While commotion offered a brief yet successful distraction, one of the men at the table swapped a piece of paper from the scattered documents with something from his own pocket.
  
  "I guess I better wait outside then. I don't want to mess with such a big trade-off or anything," he suddenly remarked with a sheepish smile, as he gave the other man an almost imperceptible nod and slowly inched his way out of the room. It would take a while, months even, before anyone could even notice the slight change in the whole deal. By then, it would be too late and he a richer man.
