Lucien Grey

Located in Kensington, and overlooking their city, the office of the king is the true centre of London. The government might like to pretend they make the rules, but everyone who's anyone knows London is really owned and ruled by one person alone: Lucien Grey.
The office is rather impressive, and, it might be argued, a little self-important. When Lucien had been looking for an office (or so the rumour goes), they hadn't been content with just a normal office building. It wouldn't be grand enough for the king, after all- no, the only thing that would appeal to their sense of grandeur was a converted cathedral.

Making an appointment to see Lucien is very easy; one simply needs to walk in, and make an appointment with the receptionist on the front desk. The phone number is easily findable, too, on the internet or in phone books.

As one enters the cathedral, they are greeted by the original hall of worship, untouched by the resident criminal. Often, during hours when they aren't otherwise occupied, Lucien can be found either sat in the main chamber, deep in thought, or strolling the corridors of their cathedral. Unfortunately, almost all of the corridors are shut off to the public, claiming there are unstable structures that make it unsafe to allow people inside.

Lucien's office is a rather traditional affair, with tasteful antique wood-panelling, and high arched windows that let in a stream of sunlight, which drapes across the dark wooden floor. A windowseat, resplendent with expensive, dark red throw pillows, complete with trims made from genuine gold, lies beneath the windows. It is easy to imagine Lucien draping themself upon it, and looking out over their beloved city.

Around the edges of the room wrap towering bookcases, each filled neatly with books on a wide range of subjects, carefully and painstakingly alphabetised, and kept perfectly clean and clear of dust. A chair stands against one of the walls, where the intimidating form of Pluto is usually seated, when he isn't stood menacingly over Lucien's shoulder.

And finally, facing away from the windows, and towards the door, sits the staple of the room: Lucien's desk. A grand, magnificently old thing, made from some dark wood and carved into a splendidly elegant design, it is certainly majestic. Upon it usually rests their laptop, but if they're holding a particularly important meeting, they may clear the desk entirely. If they do, be very flattered.
Behind the desk is Lucien's chair; it rather makes one think of a throne, and perhaps that is the point. Before the desk are three more chairs, intending for those who visit. They're somewhat less grand than Lucien's, but by no means uncomfortable.

Any visitors to the study are immediately rid of any doubts about the king's love for opulence or finery.
