  Meet Silas. Lead singer. Wannabe writer. Dick lord extraordinaire.
  
  Silias has always had a talent for music. He can read sheet, he can make covers, and boy can he sing. However, he has difficulty with the one thing he'd like to do the most; composing and singing an all-original song—lyrics, tune and all.
  Silas has tried numerous times to write what he hopes will be a hit, but always misses his mark. He corrals a group of friends and forms a band, telling them he'll draft up music for them soon, but always delays on delivering.
  
  Much to Silas' envy, his sister Lillian is a natural. She writes lyrics, vocals, and instrumentation. Her songs are phenomenal... but she won't go public with them. She says they're for her and her boyfriend to share together. To Lillian, these songs are a private and intimate duet between her and her beloved. To Silas, an immense waste of talent.
  
  Especially considering Lillian is terminally ill.
  
  True to the predictions of her doctor, Silas' sister dies from her illness. He has creeping, guilt-riddled thoughts of stealing her music, but even if he were to take the leap, one source of opposition remains—Lillian’s boyfriend is still around. Through vicious wishful thinking turned verbal and by taking a suggestion a little too far, Silas accidentally pressures his sister's boyfriend into suicide. Silas has no more opposition. No witnesses. No one to keep the music locked away from publicity. He takes it. He says it's his own. He performs it with his band.
  
  Of course he also lives with the soul-crushing, life-destroying knowledge that he indirectly murdered someone just to be the "good writer" he always said he was. His life is irreversibly ruined. He is an entirely different person. He is not happy, he doesn't feel successful. He just feels like a fraud and a killer.
