    Hi I'm Vanessa. I live with my grandmother during the week and every other weekend I live with my dad and every other weekend I live with my mom. It's difficult to understand but you figure it out after awhile. I'm abused. I'm starved by all three. I'm deprived of light except for when I'm at school. At my grandmother's my little brother and I are always in a dark room with just a mattress, pillow, and blanket. We're not even allowed a bathroom. If we have to go, we have to use the floor in our room. Disgusting right? At every meal we have to sit on a mat in the kitchen and watch my little sister and my grandmother and her guests eat and they throw scraps off their plates to us. Being there is worse than anything. They even call us names. There my little sister is treated like a princess. At my dad's my little sister and I have to sleep on the floor of the basement where we basically freeze to death. We're barely fed and get one bathroom break a day. He beats us a lot. But it isn't half as bad as my grandmother's. At his house, my little brother is treated like a prince. My mom isn't so bad. I mostly have to stay in my room all the time. She gives me one meal a day. And if I'm lucky she'll give me something besides water to drink. When I am out my mom has me clean the house. When I'm in trouble she forces me to spend the whole day in the basement. But I don't care. As long as my younger siblings are treated right. I'm bullied at school and my only friend died from being beaten to death by her mom. We were really close and we understood each other. I miss her a lot. My older sister lives in a foster home. My parents put her in foster care when I was four. My older brother lives with my aunt. He's been there since I was seven. My aunt actually cares about us. I'm really sweet and shy. I'm over protective and I love seeing my siblings happy. They keep me going every day. We have a tradition where each sibling learns the song Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. We even have hand motions to go with it. It's a promise to each other that we will never give up and we'll get out of this with a happy ending. That's me. Bye!
