  Strengths: Willing to give most people the benefit of the doubt, even villains, Mathew is often willing to try and extend the chance for others to redeem themselves. He also has a tremendously large amount of spirit, making it very hard for others to either break him emotionally, mentally, or take control of his mind through the use of mind dominating abilities. Adding to this are his immensely good reflexes, some natural, some from his enhanced abilities, and his creative thinking when using his powers.
  
  Weakness: While hard to control directly, it is not difficult to influence Mathew's actions. Threaten or harm someone he loves, and he's quick to start acting rashly, if dangerously. Put him in a situation where civilians could die, and you potentially open him up to attack. All in all, he extremely high character can be a downfall if used against him properly.
  
  Likes: Hit with hormones as most his age are, Mathew is fairly attracted to the opposite sex, and his wiry appearance occasionally can help him in that area. That said, Ritter, like most of his legacy, is a huge bookworm and one of the top students in his class. Get to talking to him about school subjects, and his attention is hooked. Adding to this is a deep love for reading and music, making him about as stereotypical nerd as one can get. He also fancies himself a sketch artist, and is somewhat good at sowing, though that particular skill is influenced by his need for repairs to his suit.
  
  Dislikes: Despite his relatively kind nature, Mathew butts heads frequently with the jocks of his school, mainly because of their abrasive bully attitudes towards those they think less of. It makes him a bit of a loose cannon around such types, often mouthing off about how all they have is brawn and that their brains had dried up years prior, or something along those lines.
  
  Interesting Notes: Unlike many of the previous people among his bloodline to don the mantle of Spider-Man (or even Spider-Woman), Mathew has strayed from the typically used red primary, blue secondary of the suit. Instead, using technology of his time period, Mathew's suit has two different color schemes. The first is a deep, cobalt blue and matte black with silver webbing crossing all over it and as the spider emblem and eye pieces, somehow managing to both flashy and smooth simultaneously. The second, activated when pressing a certain button installed on the wrist of his suit, would turn the entire suit into a blackened version of itself, reminiscent of the suit worn by Peter Parker himself when he was first infected by Venom. Using this suit when wishing to be unseen or unheard, the fabric also gains an odd sound dampening and unreflective quality about it, making it nearly impossible to see. Aside from this suit, Mathew has several other suits more reminiscent of past webslingers, just in case they are needed.
  
  Additional Suit Info: Aside from the colors of the Spider suit worn by Mathew, he has added several other useful items. Built into the lenses of his mask are devices that allow him to see in both the normal light spectrum, UV spectrum, and Infrared spectrum, as well as offer him night vision. The suit also has a built in toxin filter, rendering most conventional gases ineffective against the teen. There are several other tricks built in, such as a sonic screech emitter and electricity generating gloves, all of which have been built in to help serve some purpose or another. Perhaps the most unique aspect of the suit, aside from his visibility options, is his ability to dive for up to five hours in it, and to a fairly deep depth of four hundred feet. This tends to make drowning a hard thing to do against him as well, as well as aid him with troubles in the different harbors.

• Approximate look of Jacob's suit, though the webbing and spider symbol is silver rather than blue. This and the other suits are all other versions in Mathews possession. The final is his earliest suit, later ditched in favor of his current, but all occasionally see use.
