• Description

  current furc description: This is the type of girl she is: she shrouds herself in cigarette smoke and -- whether intentional or not -- an air of mystery. She drinks red wine, even though it makes her sad; tequila, even though it makes her stupid; and whiskey (most of all whiskey), even though it makes her angry. The books she reads (all dark and disturbing and sad and romantic and wonderful) have dog-earred pages and broken spines, and the pages are yellowed from use and those cigarettes formerly mentioned. She is a pretty girl, but with the kind of sad eyes and pout that make guys try to coax a smile out of her -- and all she can ever muster is a shy half-smirk. She thrives in the shadows -- cloaked and hidden and safe -- where she watches with those big brown eyes and breathes in her cigarettes and sometimes, when she sees something interesting, she shifts in her seat and opens her mouth to speak -- but rarely is she ever heard.

  Her wardrobe changes from day to day. A fashion staple for the little Polack is her ugly hideous manly combat boots: hardly ever tied, the tongue always gaping open and the shoe-strings always whipping around as she clomps about. For the summer weather, she is oftentimes seen pairing them with a pair of acid washed denim shorts (example) with a never-ending rotation of loose tank tops (oftentimes black), a bandeau just barely maintaining her modesty underneath. She is always wearing a simple gold Star of David necklace.
  
  Some prominent markings she sports are a mole she has on the crook of her jaw, on the right side of her face, and a tattoo sleeve: a massive bouquet of roses-- cascading from her shoulder to the crook of her arm, where a few thorny vines spill onto her forearm.

  --books: mystery-thrillers and true crime; some recent favorites are Sharp Objects and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. She longs for a Nick to her Amy. She recently completed You by Caroline Kopnes, and found it romantic, in the most twisted way.
  
  --movies: she is a fan of David Fincher. like her books, she enjoys movies about crime and psychological thrillers (Seven, Prisoners, Zodiac, The Black Dahlia), but horror also holds a special place in her heart (Pet Sematary is her favorite, and she thinks it is terribly underrated).
  
  --tv: Nelia does not watch a lot of TV, but the X-Files is her favorite. One of her most prized possessions is a ratty t-shirt two sizes too small that says, in the iconic X-Files font: "Mulder, it's me" (Scully's choice phone greeting for her partner).
  
  --cigarettes: she buys Camel Crush, but she will smoke any that she is offered.
  
  --wine: she gravitates towards bottles with dark and interesting labels, but price point is also a determining factor. 5$ bottles of wine always taste better than their more expensive counterparts, right?! she prefers red to white.
  
  --hard liquor: tequila is her liquor of choice, especially if in a margarita (always on the rocks! frozen margaritas give her brain-freeze). she enjoys having an orange slice sprinkled with cinnamon after a shoft of tequila, in lieu of the more traditional lime. on special ocassions (ie: it's bought for her, or there's nothing else to drink), she will drink whiskey; however, it makes her mean-spirited and angry.
  
  --detailed personality (quirks/disorders/general): Nelia is prone to sudden mood changes. She can be playful one moment, enraged the next, and then aroused the next! She is imaginative and likes to imagine scenarios and will often involve whoever she is conversing with in her fantasies, which can be humorous or dark and scary. She has an addictive personality, and this is true in all areas of her life: if she finds a food or wine she likes, she will consume it until she hates it. If she discovers an author, director, or subject matter that intrigues her, she will collect and study and research until she's a near expert. This addictive nature becomes particularly troublesome when it comes to her relationships: If she meets someone she likes, she will obsess-- sometimes to stalker-level (definite Stage 5 clinger). She is jealous, and for this reason usually only has a few close friends at a time. In addition, she has your typical Daddy issues -- she is hyper-sexual and promiscuous and often pursues married or older men. Because she is insecure and self conscious, she craves male attention and approval; this is truly her drug. She will often manipulate her personality in order to better suit whoever she is chasing (or, alternatively, whoever is currently showing any interest in her). Nelia does have an attraction to women, but very rarely acts upon it. She is the type of girl who drinks to get drunk; she can never open a bottle of wine without finishing it, and drinking hard liquor often ends in her nearly blacking out. However, she has built up a fairly high alcohol tolerance and functions very well when intoxicated. Her addictive and obsessive behavior even further extends into her diet: she is a chronic calorie counter and will purge if she feels overloaded. She has an impulsive tendency to steal things she likes -- especially is she imagines some sort of attachment to the object ("This was put here for me", etc). In spite of these could-be short-comings, Nelia is a fiercely loyal friend. She is feisty and quick to defend those she cares about. She is intelligent, too -- a whiz at math and science -- and is in the process of getting her Masters in Animal Science at NVU. She is sarcastic and witty with a wicked smile and a cackling laugh.
