With no support network to turn to, she has withdrawn into herself and into her home, and hasn't left in a year, except to go down to the mail slot in her apartment, and sometimes to sit on her fire escape.

  • Talents: She is a talented artist, and a fairly decent cook as well though it takes her forever to do anything as anything that does not resemble her idea of perfection is tossed out. She's so good at cleaning her house is practically a surgically sterile area.

• Backstory

  The Avery house was by most standards a normal one, Fairly rooted in middle-class life, Mary-Ann Avery, a school teacher, and Jonathan Avery, a branch manager at the local bank had a seemingly ldylic life with their white picket fence and their three children. At 16, Rue was the middle child, always a little bit looked over in favour of her higher maintenance siblings but usually happy and content with her place in life.
  
  All that changed on the night on December 8th, when a masked man broke into her home after following Rue home from school one day. The murder of the Avery Family would make the national news overnight, Both parents and two of the children had been Brutally murdered, and Rue was missing. For Months the investigation had been the talk of the town, until at least all leads had run cold, and nothing further could be done.
  
  It wasn't until two years later that Rue's captor was apprehended and Rue was liberated from his cruel imprisonment just blocks away from her family home.
  
  The Rue that emerged was very different than the one her friends remembered though. Ruled by her fear and unable to function in society anymore, Rue made a hasty retreat. She was unable to bring herself to go back to her family home, or even to stay in the same city so she made a drastic move and took herself overseas, where she acquired an apartment with the inheritance she'd been afforded. For a long while, she tried to reintegrate, but after a while found it easier to simply shut herself away where she had safety and control. She hasn't left her apartment in over a year, and to this day hasn't shared anything with anyone about the circumstances of her imprisonment.
  
  To Substitute her income she is the creator of a Graphic novel called Captain Anxiety, which she submits through a manager who is willing to come to her door to pick up the strips,. They follow the adventures of a little boy who is afraid of everything and in some ways mirrors her own life, though her protaginist is often more triumphant then herself. The comic strip has a fair following at it has kept her comfortable while allowing her her reclusive life.
