Life in Yaesha

Hers was simple as far as stories went. She grew up in a loving home, surrounded by loving parents. She never wanted, and her life was comfortable. Her family was neither rich nor poor, but instead a healthy working class of people. They made enough to have Sonovia schooled from a young age; a rare commodity on the Isle of Yaesha. Regardless, Sonovia was a bright young girl, and a wonderful pupil. Reading and writing came to her with ease, allowing her to take up the practice quickly and master it. By the time she was 10, she could recognize most words.

Sonovia had a special love for books. It seemed as though she almost always had her nose in one. She loved the way the words whisked her away to faraway lands. When she wasn't reading for herself, most of the time she was reading to others. The words rolled off her tongue and weaved bright stories in the minds of all the youngsters, making Sonovia a prime leader for watching unruly tykes while mothers and father bustled about their days. Sonovia didn't mind, in fact on particularly long days, she was often rewarded with sweets or gold. It was easy work, and the little lapine never minded lending a helping hand. Helping others was in her nature.

The Storm

Life in Yaesha was calm. The weather was almost always balmy and tropical. Of course, when the cooler months began to sweep in, storms began to rear their ugly heads. Mostly though, the village would hunker down in their cozy homes and allow things to pass. No one ever suspected a thing. No one ever saw it coming. Sonovia was becoming of age. As a matter of fact, it was four moons until her 17th birthday. There would be a celebration and she would be set to marry. The day had been particularly calm, the air was still and oppressive. Some expected a storm, while others in the village laughed. The skies were clear! Not a single cloud to darken the day.

It wasn't until night fall that the clouds rolled in, and with them came angry winds. They ripped through the island pulling trees and branches in their wake. The tides rolled heavy and strong onto the earth, lapping closer and closer to the village. The people huddled in their homes, praying. Children cried, but the winds carried their wails far away. Sonovia and her parents sat motionless in their own home, listening to the torrent of the storm that snuck into their island. The last that Sonovia remembered was whispering how much she loved them.

Street Life

It had been several months since Sonovia was ripped from her home, and her parents presumably perished. There were times that the girl now found herself crying, mourning the memories that spilled into her consciousness. She had not lost all hope, though. For in that time, she had made her way. Earned a living, and in just those few short months, it was as though she became an adult. She learned to survive on more than just her kindness. When she couldn't earn coin, she resorted to thievery. Of course, sometimes it didn't always go to plan, and for that there was always a plan. Sonovia had a way of weaving her words in such a way, that often times a merchant who had caught her would let her leave with a strong warning of, "Don't do it again, or else the consequences will catch up to you," and often times Sonovia left it at that.

But there were times that it didn't work out to her favor. It was then, she was forced into an evening of servitude to work of the debt she acquired. At first, the lapine was mouthy and ungrateful about it. How dare they not understand her tragedy! She was hardly 17 years old, and she was left as an orphan to figure out life on the streets. Surely, someone would take pity upon her.

It didn't take long before Sonovia associated mouthiness with lashings. Oh, how they hurt! Hands were the least of her worries. Their sting was temporary, and left only a soft heat to her flesh. The whips are what sent her spine tingling. Their crack was terrifying, but their bite was much worse. Had she ever been bitten by an animal, this would be what she associated it with. The pain was deep. A harsh lash that burned for a long, long time. Should the wielder wish to inflict injury, they could, but Sonovia was fortunate enough to never have experienced it.

Coming to Guildereim

By the time Sonovia had reached the age of 20, most of the street vendors knew of her and knew her tricks, and quite frankly, they were tired of the thieving little lapine. Sure, Sonovia worked off every debt she acquired, but none would keep her for longer than the intended time to serve everything off. Nonetheless, in the past months Sonovia had seen equines dressed in silks and gold. The lapine knew the worth just one piece of jewelry would hold, and of course the cunning bunny tried to snatch something.

It was then her greed overloaded her ass. Those visitors turned out to be scouts from the island of Guildereim, and they seemed quite interested in Sonovia. If she was stupid enough to attempt to steal from guards who knew all the tricks in the books, then she could come to the island and earn money for The Golden Tether working whatever skills it was that she had.

At first, the bunny was processed. Anything of value was stripped from her, and her worth as a slave was assessed. Sonovia made little mention of her ability and knowledge to prior servitude, but did make mention of her skills in writing and reading. However, Sonovia was informed she would be spending a quarantine time in the Underhall to ensure that she had brought no diseases and was able to prove her skillsets.


Life in the Tether

Several years had passed and Sonovia was now blossomed into a beautiful and well rounded woman. She managed to keep her nose clean in her time with the Tether and had even earned herself a spot in the Harems, a place where only the best can reside while awaiting work. She had passed through the hands of only one owner in that time. Redark was an interesting feline that had taken interest in her for a short time. However, when plans changed, as they often do, Sonovia was relinquished back to the care of the Tether.

It was then, that Graham Weber took the woman in. He had barely spoken to her before asking for papers and a private room. Within the hour, Sonovia was collared and owned by the medic. His reasoning was simple in the fact he chose her to help with his medical career and she was to serve as his assistant. Sonovia had never practiced in any sort of medical or healing sense, and found the tasks to be quite overwhelming, but with guidance from her new Master, she was able to quickly learn the most basic of first aid. Something that would be useful when he was away, and a patron or slave alike needed basic medical attention.

As time passed on, Sonovia noticed her Master being pulled away time and time again leaving her to eye patrons as they came and went. None of them called upon her services. So, day in and day out she sat until one day Mr. Purrcival Myrrwyn half stumbled into the Atrium. He looked as though he had a tangle with death and barely won. So, the medic in training offered her services to him, only to find that he was on the mend. Surely, now he would leave her be as every other person had, but no Mr. Myrrwyn had plans for the bunny.

The Bunny-Dog

The first night's rental with the noble lion left Sonovia quite confused. Though she was quite obviously a lapine, Purrcival had asked her questions that didn't even pertain to her species! He would begin with asking her if she knew how to fetch, and then continued until he made mention of dungeon-training. As the two retired to Mr. Myrrwyn's chambers for the evening, Sonovia found herself wondering if the very apparent sickness that gripped him is what made him ask such off colored questions.

Sonovia had ending up returning to the Harems sometime the next day, only to find the lion needed her once more. Of course she obliged to his wish and joined Purrcival where she had met the Guard Jacob Cross and one of Mr. Myrrwyn's "pack members" Cyntawni. This was not the first run in the bunny had with the two. She had overheard the heated she-wolf and Jacob speaking about a sinister force that was taking over the island. It seemed as though the conversation had carried on into today's agenda as well.

This was the first Sonovia had heard of it. The lapine imagined horrible things that sounded like nightmarish creatures that could only exist in fairytales. It seemed as though the wolfess had her own encounter with the creatures, but she was able to destroy it. This set Sonovia in a mood of unease. The fae was a powerful creature it seemed, and deep down she made Sonovia uncomfortable.

Life with a Lion

It had been nearly three days that Sonovia had been with the lion and the wolf. In fact, it had gotten to where she was no longer returning to her Master's quarters to bed down in the evenings. The lion insisted the she come with him and the she-wolf and together the shared a bed. Another trip to the Atrium warranted meeting another member of the Myrrwyn clan, Purrcival's sister, Tail'rr.

The woman was very kind and doting to Sonovia, and she possessed incredible talents to sketch people, but her stay was short lived and she took her leave rather quickly.
