trivial matters.
Personality and Habits:
Chrollo is an extremely intelligent and calculating individual. He is very charismatic, yet cold, and his outlook on life speaks of nothing but a very low regard, musing that humans are no different than mere puppets and easily manipulated. To him, his opinion on life is mere conjecture, where he feels that it doesn't hold much value or weight. This leads him to become comfortable with living alongside death. Down to the core, he doesn't care for his own self-preservation when it comes to the Geneiryodan as a whole and would allow himself to be sacrificed to keep them alive. Though he is highly confident in his own abilities as well as of each individual member. To him, in order to retain wholeness and minimize damage to the Geneiryodan is to work in pairs. He is rarely seen himself without two other members by him. He is also a capable strategist and easily able to combat most of what opposes him or the Geneiryodan. Above all else, he is far from being incapable of sadistic and inhuman acts, easily committing to mass murder without any care or remorse. Though in the face of crisis or high stress, Chrollo is easily able to retain composure, despite the vast and volatile personality differences of the rest of the Spider. He generally stresses unity among the Spider as a method to help keep them strong and persevere, making a point that when deployed on issued missions, to stay together and aid one another. He is highly regarded by the rest of the members and looked upon as the most valuable thing alive.
Past to the Present:
Little is known about Chrollo's past. He was born in Meteor City, a place shrouded in obscurity where it's residents are not registered in society. Those born there live in poverty, are nobodies and considered nonexistent by the rest of the world. It was at some point that Chrollo, along with twelve other individuals from the city were eventually formed into what is now known as the Spider, or the Geneiroydan.
Considered Class A bounties, Chrollo, and his Spiders live constantly on the edge, committing high acts of villainy, and not limited to full-blown mass murder. Such professing of this has been seen during the slaying of the Kurta clan where he and the rest of his group wiped out an entire village of innocents regardless of age or gender to harvest their Scarlet Eyes. The same was seen in response to the death of the member Uvogin, where Chrollo orchestrated the decimation of the Mafia along with the Ten Dons and their Shadow Beasts during the Yorknew auction. Highly dangerous, merciless and heartless, they don't think twice about spilling blood and death.
At the current, after many months of pursuit if his own personal goals while his Spiders were seeking a way to remove the Judgement Chain from his heart, he has found himself involved in fateful encounters. During one of his excursions, he came into contact with the very one of whom he is now involved in a very intense mental struggle with - the very one of whom had challenged him and won. Though this encounter was... Different. The once determined blond youth he had remembered who captured him and killed two of his Spiders... Wasn't exactly the same. There was that deep-seated shadow in those blue eyes and lingering malice that seemed to resemble his own. But, something else was underlying in those eyes. A more primal conviction. Something bordering between desire and need. It was in those eyes that Chrollo saw something of which attracted him to the blond more then he could understand. More then the lustrous allure of the precious, beautiful scarlet color they could turn. No, he found something else. Something more akin to licentious, and it was because of that his intentions changed. That obsession grew the more the blond came around, the amount of time involved together and those moments where the other left himself vulnerable. Which caused instances where he wanted to dig his hooks in so deep they could never be removed. But it was also those times where he saw the intense ferocity in the blond's eyes and the same domineering attitude. The very same that spoke of him wanting to take control of Chrollo for himself.
It was these very acts that generated an undulating yearning that couldn't be sated. The very same that created a deep need of his own to have the blond to himself and the longer he delved into the intoxicating presence of the other, the more it gripped him. It pulled him under and upended his ideals. Caused his mentality to sway and let down his defenses, and perhaps he was finding himself captivated enough to express more romantic desires, opening up his heart to the blond.
Though one thing has crossed the Genei Ryodan leader's mind; is truly what he had been experiencing after all the moments he's spent with the blond, his blond a form of love? Things have been changing between them, altering and twisting as a stirring has echoed within - albeit foreign, making him wonder if he was truly developing feelings far beyond sexual attraction for Kurapika.
However, it had been some time since he began his journey to acquire the younger man's heart, and over the course of their time together, Chrollo soon began to realize everything he had been gradually feeling turned out to be the love he suspected he was harboring. After a near-fatal encounter with a strong Nen user among a prominent mafia family while seizing a pair of Scarlet Eyes, it was then Chrollo realized just how strong of an emotional connection he and Kurapika shared. Because of this outcome, Kurapika ultimately confessed his true feelings for him and not long after, (much to Chrollo's surprise) the Kurta agreed to join the very same group he had once sought out to destroy.
Now they are in a strong, loving relationship.
Both Chrollo and Kurapika continued their search for the remaining Scarlet Eyes, but have since, encountered a large group of mysterious, vicious and terrifying beasts who threaten the existence of mankind. Realizing what kind of threat they now face, he and Kurapika returned to Yorknew in hopes of procuring reinforcements, but to also reunite with the rest of the Genei Ryodan. It is then Chrollo revealed to the comrades who studiously supported him for so long about his status with Kurapika. After a chaotic uproar and much reluctance among a few of the Spider's members, they prepare to return to the decimated city of Mirie to face the creatures once more and for Kurapika to prove his worth.
Nen and Abilities:
Chrollo is highly skilled and proficient in his Nen. Being one of a few to reach Specialist status, he is confident in his abilities, using them with great precision and care. He is also methodical with how he uses them and does so without any heed or hesitation when used, and on whom. Generally, they are all commonly used equally, especially when called to situations that require his attention. Though he does act without prejudice or bias, feeling his strong connection to his Nen allows him to do so without restriction.
Skill Hunter (Bandit's Secret): Special conjured book that allows Chrollo to steal another person's Hatsu, though under strict conditions that also come with limitations.
First, he must personally witness the Nen ability of the person he has chosen to steal from.
Second, he must inquire about said ability and be answered by the person he has chosen to steal from.
Thirdly, the hand of the person he chose to steal from must touch the handprint on the cover of Bandit's Secret.
Forth, all above conditions must be done and met within an hours time.
In order for him to use one of the abilities he has stolen, he must open the book to the page of the chosen ability, while keeping the book open within his right hand. Due to this, he can only use one stolen ability at a time. Furthermore, each ability is also restricted to the original creator's thoughts and emotions. This disallows Chrollo from modifying any stolen ability as he must it exactly as the original would use it. However, should the original owner of any stolen ability become deceased, the ability will then disappear from the book's pages. The only objection to this condition would be if the Nen of the original owner becomes stronger after death, then he would be able to keep the ability, despite the prior user has passed.
Double Face: An ability classed under Specialization and used in conjunction with Bandit's Secret. This allows him to circumvent up to two restrictions placed on Skill Hunter, which is a bookmark that can be placed on the page of any stolen ability and maintain access to it without the book remaining open or touching it. This allows Chrollo to partake in hand to hand combat more efficiently. However, should he keep the book open and utilize the bookmark on a different page, this grants him usage to two stolen abilities at the same time.
Stolen Abilities:
Indoor Fish: Conjured fish-like creatures that can only be summoned into a completely closed room. They are ethereal and skeletal in appearance and feed solely on human flesh. Once a victim is assaulted by them, they will remain perfectly conscious without any pain as they are being consumed, and will feel no effects until the fish disappear. The victim will then potentially die depending on the severity of the wounds generated by them.
Fun Fun Cloth: Nen ability that conjures a cloth which can be altered in size by the user's whims that is place on objects to conceal them. Should the user wish the objects to return to their original state, releasing them from the bag allows this to happen. Consequently, humans are able to be concealed in very much the same mannerism without suffering any harm.
Teleportation: This allows Chrollo to transport one person at a time without their consent, without actually having to see the person or without having a known destination in mind. This can be used while standing still or moving.
Lovely Chostwriter: Stolen ability that allows Chrollo to predict one's future. However, it is set to strict conditions and cannot predict his own future.
First, he must know the target's full name.
Secondly, he must know the target's date of birth.
Thirdly, he must know the target's blood type.
The target then must write this information down and hand it to him, who he then summons a ghostly appearing creature that takes control of the pen and then puts him into a trance-like state while the predictions are then written out. These prophecies take on a poetic form, corresponding to each week upon a month's time where the first stanza is generally in relation to a past event.
Black Voice (Borrowed): Stolen ability that allows the Chrollo to control or manipulate a person via special phone that has portable antenna. Once the antenna is placed on someone, orders can also be given to the person being controlled via commands through the phone.
The Sun and Moon: Ability that generates two symbols on the backs of Chrollo's hands. One is a sun with a plus symbol in the middle on the left and the other being a waning moon with a minus symbol on the right. After touching the chosen target, the symbols can appear depending on which hand was used. But for the ability to reach its intended, full potential, he must touch the target for at least three to five seconds. Depending on the duration of the contact depends on the ferocity of the reaction. Once the marks on his hands touch, an explosion is reached, causing the target (and anyone nearby pertaining he was able to achieve the ability's full potential) to die. The symbols he generates is essentially a bomb, and despite it is said the symbols themselves are to explode, the area of explosion can be anywhere relative on the body. Furthermore, these marks will remain affixed to its target even after the book is closed and until they are detonated.
Order Stamp: Chrollo summons a stamp that can be placed on whichever he chooses to control and essentially turn it into a puppet that can be manipulated through vocal commands. In order for this to occur, the target must have a head and be lifeless or inanimate. The ability cannot be used on corpses as the original user had never viewed the dead as inanimate objects. It can, however, create Nen copies of the deceased, using those to his whims. If the head to any of his puppets were to get severed, it deactivates the command. This ability is also capable of controlling large numbers of puppets at once, which has allowed him to conjure as many as two hundred at one time. He also cannot issue commands too complex. But by the same token, should he issue any commands that would have gone against the user's beliefs, the results could be drastic enough that the command is ignored. One way to circumvent this is to use alternate phrasing for certain words such as break as opposed to kill.
Gallery Fake (Borrowed): An ability able to generate exact fake copies of something he touches with his left hand into his right. This relatively works only in inanimate objects and does not take effect on anything living. If he were to try, it would only generate inanimate looking corpses, which does not copy the target's Nen. These replicas will dissipate after twenty-four hours and up until this occurs, Chrollo is able to track each and every one of them by using his En pertaining he touched the originals.
Covert Hands: Conjuring this ability places two marks upon Chrollo's palms. On the right, a solid black ring with an arrow inside it of the same color which points to the middle finger. On the left, an inverted symbol like the one on the right with the arrow pointing to the wrist. When Chrollo touches someone with the right, it will allow him to take on that person's likeness. If he were to touch someone with the left, they will take on his likeness. If he were to touch someone with both marks at the same time, the places are swapped. Though only the images are transferred. This does not affect any abilities or personalities. Though the marks will remain on Chrollo's hands regardless of how they are used. For him to initiate this ability, he must use Bandit's Secret, but with the bookmark. Once the ability is activated, the book can be closed or used normally.
Blue Flame: With this ability, Chrollo is able to summon ethereal-appearing blue flames varying in sizes that function as a purpose of detecting traps and lighting dark spaces but also can warm any area in an instant. Once they are summoned, unless Chrollo wills it, the flames will not burn anything they come into contact with regardless of what the object is. This counts for even items that could be considered flammable. Should the condition of the flames change, or Chrollo desires it, the flames can become raging infernos and decimate anything in their wake. Both beautiful and deadly, it's an ability of usefulness and purpose despite its short range. After activating this ability, it's not necessary for Skill Hunter to remain open.
