Background
Miyoshi grew up in an elven village, far away. Lamior. She was a happy child and from a young age, the girl knew how to get what she wanted. She used her beautiful outerior and slight, sly manipulations. However, said elven village was famous for one things, their warriormasters. Warriors that exceed the limits of what seems possible, praised as gods by some, legends each. Almost all children tried to apply for the masters, but only some were able to qualify for the test and even less survived the actual test.
With young age, Miyoshi started to train for when she would apply. Her weapon of choice, a naginata. With it, she trained, a lot and oftenly, spending years to prepare. She grew friends with other kids quickly, her personality and beauty made her popular. However, she was always most fascinated by Ajisai Miwato, a male elf her age, that would apply with her, most likely. She grew good friends with him, developing a crush, eventually.
When she applied for the test, she got placed in a group with Ajisai, his little sister and his best friend. They succeeded, as the only four that passed that year. And many years afterwards. The four became legends as the four warriormasters, Miyoshi starting to mask herself, to intimidate potential enemies.
But after a few hundred years, a battle ocurred, one of the biggest of the lands history. Thousands of opponents attacked Lamior. The four stood ready to defend, but it were simply too many.Okuma died first, then Miyoshi fell, Ajisai followed and soon, so did Ikasia.
Miyoshi had taken hits to her chest and stomach. She appeared dead and so, when Ikasia, who had survived, arose, she thought her friend to be dead and left the corpse.
Days later, Miyoshi woke up. Around her, corpses, broken weapons. Her wounds hurt badly, but they were already healing. Elves healed quick, after all. She saw her broken naginata, recognizing the weapon, even though the blade was missing. She knew what it had been. She knew it was hers. But that was all she knew. Not recognizing any of the masked corpses, but feeling her own mask, she shook her head. A masacre must have happened, but she knew not why and when. She did not know her name, neither her past. But she knew her weapon. A name engraved, she found out she was Miyoshi. But no last name was given. She left the doomed place, getting her weapon renewed in an instant.
Roaming the lands as a woman without past, but great skills as warrior, she became a mercenary. Soon, she got to know another mercenary, just as lost as her, an older man, fighting with two katana´s. His skill was incredible. He was named Ikage. Miyoshi stayed around the older man, becoming like a daughter to him. They spent years like that.
As if history was to repeat itself, the army of the kingdom they lived in sent out forces to bring down the mercenary Ikage. He was a criminal in their eyes. Miyoshi was just returning from a mission, when she saw the fire being set. She could not save her friend, but she avenged him, as the second she arrived, she started to mow down the knights. They did not stand a chance, fleeing, until their leader, a centurion of the royal forces, showed up. He was skilled as well, being a match for Miyoshi. Some time during their battle, as she recieved a punch to the head, she lost her mask and hat. But in the end, she was the victor. The centurion at her knees, her blade at his throat, he forfeit his life to her. She asked for his orders, for his reasoning. He explained, that he had been ordered to burn the building. That he worked for the royal forces, that he fought and killed to live, just like her. That he did so to earn his family´s bread. Miyoshi showed mercy that day, the centurion promising to let her go without a words, telling the king Ikage slew his troops, but he killed him in the end. Miyoshi thanked the man, he thanked her. He promised, should they ever meet again, he would help her. But it was not to be. She left the kingdom.
Since that day, Miyoshi roams again. She took Ikage as last name, in her felt fathers honor. But she has sworn, never to return to the place he lived. And never to return to the place she awoke. -
