Various places in the USA just got a tremor! Places that aren't used to earthquakes. It was a 5.8 in the epicenter, Virginia. It was felt throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio and even New York.

That was my very first tremor. And rather scary. o-o

I've lived through a few minor earthquakes in my life. They are always strange and frightening and kind of cool. The earth isn't as static and dependable as we think it is!

I am glad you came through your first unscathed. :) A quick poke around the news and I couldn't find any reports of injuries (yet), but there were several warnings that there could be more. Remember to get into a doorway when the next one happens, if you can!

We went down into the basement where it was solid. There were no injuries as far as they know, because it was all in farmland. We're watching the news right now. I'm also glad I got through unscathed. Where I live, there's a couple dangerous things nearby that would be bad if we got a bigger earthquake. It was an interesting experience, but it seems things are better now. Relieved, I certainly am.
Hope everyone is okay! I didn't personaly feel it, my mother in lar (she's a 5 min walk from my place) called me. she felt it here in Ottawa ontario (canada)

Everyone seems okay for now. And yikes!

Right now, I'm located near Philadelphia, PA and I felt it. My parents are about an hour drive away and our house was shaking like crazy! We have two kittens and I'm scared they were freaking out!
I just read this on the news,
Quote:
The jolt could be felt as far away as Toronto, where CBC provincial affairs reporter Mike Crawley said he felt the walls of the Ontario legislature shake.

But no damage so far! Hope everyone is okay.

We had a few quakes here as well, but they've always been minor and I've always slept through them. XD The worst were some rattling glasses in the cupboards!

I'm glad you're okay though, when I saw the topic title all kinds of horrible things went through my head! D:

Last time there was an earthquake in the UK, I didn't even feel it.

Anyway, glad everyone here that felt this quake is okay. I'm seeing people talking about it on various social sites but no one seems hurt.

It was crazy! We never get earthquakes around here. So everyone was really surprised, and those in DC were scared it was another terrorist attack.

But yeah, everyone's okay as far as they know. There doesn't seem to be too much damaged. I heard there's some standing water in teh pentagon from a broken pipe, but that's the most I heard.

I'm glad everyone's okay, too :)

I felt it here in VA. Dang thing interrupted my shower. And it was only cause Nikina blew up my phone asking if I was ok that I knew it was a quake. I thought it was a sonic boom at first. Makes my 4th quake I've dealt with. And the strongest. On a side note I can now say i've dealt with and survived every natural disaster except for one.
So apparently we had another quake about 3 hours ago... A smaller one. Bout a 4.5 from what I've gathered. I got multiple sources saying it did happen. How bout you all here on RPR? any of you here about this new one?
that's the first I've heard about it! and I didn't blow up you're phone :p lol it still works.

Yikes Lance, that's scary!
And lol about the phone XD

Also, I heard about the second one but I never felt a thing. I guess the tremors didn't reach this far.
