I'd been looking for these forums for quite some Time. Imagine my surprise when I learned that they've only just been finished. 8V

Anyway, hullo, folks! I'm Edward, but you're free to call me Wizard, if you so please. I roleplay primarily on Furcadia and World of Warcraft, with a strong focus on medieval fantasy settings. All of my characters are magicians and at least two of them are chronomancers.

I am one of the folks who runs a newish Furcadian roleplaying guild located in the Imaginarium, Skuldhellir.

I genuinely look forward to watching this hugely encompassing website grow, and getting to know the excellent roleplayers and characters that make it up! It's really exciting to be here when a community like this is still in its fledgling stages. Applause for Kim and all of her hard work that's been getting it going and working, and everyone else for populating it with characters and making it such an interesting browse!

Aww, thank you Edward. It's good to know the effort is appreciated, and I have to join you in applauding everyone around here that's been making sweet and sassy character profiles. I love to see all this stuff in use!

I can vouch for Skuldhellir, it's a really interesting community and I like playing there a lot. There's almost always someone awake and wanting to play at any crazy time of the night I happen to stop working too, which is a huge plus for me. Just last night as I was about to pass out amidst the early birds chirping, someone there asked me to play with them. I'm not used to seeing anyone even online at that hour, much less ready to play.

What about magicians appeals to you so strongly?
Hello!

I love playing mage types as well. I don't constrain myself to medieval, but most of my characters are non-modern fantasy and many of them magic users. It's like my brain's default setting when it comes to characters. I can always go somewhere with it. xD I'll have to remember to check out Skuldhellir next time I'm on Furc.

I agree. This site is shaping up to be an amazing resource so far. I was overjoyed when I discovered it.

@Kim: Thanks for your kind words! We do have people from all over the world in Skuld, and some of the other folk have the strangest sleeping schedules. It's actually quite convenient, in many regards, haha.

As for your question... well, that's kind of hard to answer briefly! My characters aren't only magicians, they're a specific kind of magician--they're closer in style to Merlin and Gandalf than to, say, Harry Potter. I suppose I like playing with characters that actually look and act (to some extent) in a manner that evokes the image we think of when someone says the word 'wizard'--robes and pointy hats, eccentricity, wisdom, an aura of mystery, and a great respect for the powerful gift of magic. I really enjoy all of those traits, because most of them are really fun to play with. And as an added bonus, it's an excuse for my characters to be asexual. :B

@Marionette: That's awesome! No matter how you look at it, magic offers a ton of possibilities, and there's so many directions you can take it that it's a great thing to just tack on to your character in its basic stages and watch develop. (8

Thank you again for the pixelsandwich of Justice. XD I cherish it still, for I have not yet procured a worst enemy to throw it at.
Hey, Wizard!

Oh my, this is a very, very old topic being revived! Wizard must feel loved to have this dug up from the grave. XD
Hullo Edward the Wizard! I think I've actually seen you in chat a time or two. I don't raelly have any mage characters, but I do have a lovely lass who is trying to control some elemental powers. Maybe she and one of your wizards will rp together sometime!
