Greetings!
I have been RPing for about 20 years now and during that time I have seen and done alot as many various characters. I have always loved writing and the world of RP has always given me somewhere to escape to.
I originally started RPing in The Mystic Tavern when it was a user created room on Lycos Chat. Since then I have been heavily involved in many various reincarnations of the days of the old tavern, and have my own RP website to house the stories which were borne there.
Activity has slowed down at my site and I am at the stage now where I wonder if its time to hang up my hat? I have a vision for online RP that I hope to reignite in others I have lost track of along the way. Hoping I can connect with some like minded souls here and maybe respark the brilliant flame of creative RP before it is extinguished for good...

Well welcome to RPR, I hope you can find what you are looking for, I also find myself wanting to hang up my hat. It is hard to find someone that is as dedicated as I am, it is a nice escape from 'real world problems'. Maybe hit me up sometime, or take a look at my characters, I am always down for old school RP 
Welcome, Eb. I can say for certain that I've yet to run across someone with as much experience as you - I've only been roleplaying for... about eight years total. I think that you'd be able to RP as much as your heart desires here - most of the topics I lurk around in get good attention. In terms of getting a nice, long game started, I know that several of the more experienced players might be down for that, depending on the story, scenario, etc. I would be among them.
I personally troll (no, not that kind) around in the off topic chats these days, but I'm working on whipping my [radio edit] back into shape. I'm aka'd as Bones, Bonebag (obviously), The Dark Lord Galvatron, and Pretty Pretty Unicorn.

DEFINATELY down for some old school RP. Ive already pitched an idea over in the RP threads regarding an end of the world style plot and I have alot of other ideas for fun, interesting storylines. My problem is I tend to be the one with all the ideas and I manage to get people excited in playing a story, but then unless I am there to prod and remind them to post regularly, the entire thing falls apart after two or more players go AWOL. VERY frustrating.
I look forward to getting to know you better and I hope we can get busy playing soon.

Yeah there were a few different forums sprout up after the demise of the origional tavern, and Minerva does sound familiar! My name at the Mystic Tavern was Moridanu Darkflame. That was my moderator name but I had literally hundreds of other characters.

If I remember, Mystic Tavern had an alternate chatroom pop up about five years ago, for a few years, on one of the nexxushost servers. I'm not sure if it was on nexxushost or darknexxus. One of the two. I went to it before then, though, when it had retired to forums. I think I found Mystic Tavern through the Slayers RPG forums. Your name does sound vaguely familiar.

Heh, I've avoided Nexxushost ever since I retired as head admin from CC (which was on DarkNexxus before changing domains) six years ago. Maybe I could be coerced to come in, but as my profile indicates, my net time is limited. I don't want to go into details but there was a lot of corruption from the man who took over CC that took side with the trolls that had been banned for extreme behavior to try to get me ousted, even though it was proven they were exploiting chat weaknesses and holes in security to torment both staff and users. I ultimately just left. All I've been to after that was into The Keep once every few months over these last several years.
It's funny. They all b!tched that I had no life when I was admin. I left for many years, I came back some years later on another name just to observe, and every single jack@$$ was still in that site, b!tching at people to get lives and b!tching about me still.
Ironic, isn't it?

While I multiplied the userbase nine-fold (statistically), it was apparently a huge mistake. God bless their new administration, their userbase returned to the crappy amount it was at before my stay. Hah.

Unfortunately your story sounds way too familiar. It is the reason alot of people have scattered and fractured off into so many versions of the Mystic Tavern. You should join our group on here! We are trying to collect any information we can on past players, characters ( their bios, bloodlines, clans, fights, births, deaths, marriages, etc).

If you ever went to CC or TK,
My Ash character went primarily to CC, under usernames "Unknown" (when it didn't idle and get taken by someone else), Anonymous, and later on just "Ash". He frequented the tavern before it became the default entry room and got destroyed by confused newbies. He later went to The Keep as "Ygg".
Luci went to CC as usernames Twilit and Luci, primarily (Twilit was a shared username with character Ferous, as well, who graduated to username Ferous when Luci became Luci screen name). He was my go anywhere and everywhere character. He mostly went to TK as Luci.
Zenthus went to TK as Zento, then to CC as Zenthus or Zaensus, and later on went to TK with the same usernames.
Rudianos went by Serpent, Santhis, Gaap, Ares and The-Pain in CC, then as Rudianos in TK.
Auroch was Auroch in TK and CC, Wehfre was CC exclusive.

As for my other listed characters: Itachikiritsu was CC exclusive, unless you count my chat, Szurane (still on nexxushost in its own private cubby; I'm good with nexxushost's admin, Web Janitor--he and I go way back and were close friends early on--it's darknexxus/cyberchat-rp's admin, Dave, that was the problem. Most people don't realize I'm the -reason- it was named darknexxus, alongside the other Kiritsus. I picked the friggin' name.)
Raphael Emmerich is more recent, mostly in Szurane and occasionally TK as username Wraith. Rumea is almost Szurane exclusive, went to TK on rare occasion many years ago, and a few times as Gold-Eyes in the last three years or so.

Oh, and Minerva is just my everywhere character. CC, TK, probably MT, Szurane, you name it. When I came to TK it had just graduated from its original version of being called "The Pub" and Minerva was one of two characters I played (Suzaku, a sanguin bird-creature that I don't have a profile for on here, I should probably put her under other, was the other.)
