Something that could be super helpful would be to be able to delete a post after you made it.
Like how you can edit it, then it would be neat if you could get to delete a post, if it proves to be an unnecessary post, or if you just want to clear up a thread??
Hi there!

We actually don't allow the deletion of posts by users for a few reasons, as summarized in this previous topic on the matter:
http://www.rprepository.com/community/forumthread.php?t=4723

To sum it up nicely, we (the site admin & the moderators) want to preserve posting integrity (who said what and when) and the flow of conversation between our members.

However, if it's a legitimate enough reason, you're more than welcome to ask a moderator to delete a thread/post you have made; maybe there's a thread that didn't get replies and you're done with it, or an accidental double-post (rare, but it happens), or it's an ancient topic from two years ago that someone revived accidentally. Harmless things that don't threaten the above-mentioned integrity and flow.

The mods delete things from the forums in our day-to-day work for content that breaks a rule, if serious enough, but regardless any post or thread is looked at case-by-case regardless of how it was brought to our attention or why, to ensure deletion is a necessary action.

it's more for editorial purposes, like for my own sake.
I personally find it super annoying, but okay.
Sorry it's annoying to you, but that's how things roll! I imagine it's similar to those ol' screenshots that used to float around where someone makes a comment on Facebook in reply to something, someone replies to them, then the first person who replied goes and deletes their comment and make everything that follows totally out of context to the original post.

Hope I'm both right on that theory and that makes sense, on the integrity front! :3

If I may ask, since you bring this up for editing purposes, why you would need to delete a post as opposed to just using the "edit" button to go back and fix the post up? I feel I'm misunderstanding something here.

Well, occasionally I end up having an ooc conversation in an ic forum, which looks silly, so is like to be able to delete those.

This type of thing has proven problematic in the past -- what looks silly to you might be valuable reference information or memories to others in the RP, who then complain when it suddenly vanishes. :)
