AU - Alternate Universe. What that means is a world in which events occurred differently. It's easy to become comfortable with the familiar, but what if those characters you know found themselves facing the unknown? How will they handle the realization that everything they understood has been replaced by the shattered remnants of dozens of other realities - ones where they might have become completely different individuals, or where the people they're closest to no longer recognize them? What if they stepped through the looking glass and encountered what they once knew as home, only to see it harbor a realm no longer theirs?

That is the basic premise of Shadows of the Eclipse. Characters emerge from one of a myriad of universes which were engulfed in what is known as the Omega event. These alternate worlds have been fractured, their pieces scattered among each other in a jumbled heap of a puzzle. Once the flash of light, which caught their populaces off-guard, dissipated, people would notice a crystal-clear 'bubble' surrounding their cities and homes, its surface rippling like the surface of a peaceful lake. But what they've yet to realize is what lies beyond that surface... and how it could affect their lives in a way they couldn't expect.

I'll do either one-on-one or group roleplay depending on your individual preferences. Dice use is optional, but freeform preferred. Anybody is welcome to roleplay in this setting with or without me. If you do decide to roleplay with me, my only real stipulation is no anime/superhero physics; other than that, just take a look at the rules on the site and we can get this show on the road!

The site is more or less a means to present the idea, rather than an absolute, dedicated group - but I won't object if players would like to submit their characters to it!

As stated in the premise above, I'm open to either one-on-one or group roleplay with different players. If someone joins and only wants 1x1, that's what they'll get; conversely, if they want group, then group it is! I don't feel a need to force one or the other, since I'm generally comfortable in either situation - provided neither devolves into a drama llama.

Actually, I'm sure there is. Depending on the level of magic you'd like him to have, he could fit in with quite a few in fact! Y-011 is a universe in which magic does what technology does, but that may not be 'arcane' enough for him. Y-016 is an interesting setting, as it includes two hemispheres for different types of settings - namely 'realistic' (in the west) and 'high magic' (in the east), with areas in between having different levels depending on their distance to the prime meridian. Y-032 and Y-040 may be optimal if you want a more 'traditional' fantasy setting.

I'm kinda interested, but my only charater's a dragon. He tends to use technology daily, though.

Actually... how do the settings work? Are they in a preset world or do they follow with our characters' stories? And how do we join the rp exactly?

Yes, it's a more-or-less preset world. The settings, as mentioned in the introduction, are alternate versions of each other. They all share some commonalities. I would have just used "alternate history" or "alternate timelines/realities" to describe it, but I understand a lot of internet writers are more familiar with the term "alternate universe" (AU).

If you'd like to join, it may be best to just apply to the group (linked in the introductory post) with a character you want to use. After that, I'll PM you and we can work out the details. ^^
