You've been a prisoner in the brig of this ship for what seems like months. You have not seen the sun, yet you can tell when it has arisen by the intense, muggy heat within the underbelly of the ship. You knew that when the ship reached the port, you would likely be placed in another cell strait away, for the crimes you've been accused of.
Yet, it is the devils fortune upon you. Cannon fire breaks out by the late evening during a light storm, and the ship you've been held captive upon is going down fast. A few narrow misses of yourself, leave a hole in the ship's hull large enough for you, and another in your cell, to squeeze through.
The storm picks up, and the night falls - Despite your freedom from captivity, your hope of survival becomes bleak, and you find yourself washed away in the sea.
The sun kisses your skin come the break of morning. You don't know where you are, only that you are lying down in the sand, face up, with your clothes in tatters. But you are alive.

Looking to maintain yet another chapter in my fictional universe - It is mostly a medieval/fantasy setting, yet for the sake of entertainment black powder weapons are available in the warmer, northern regions.
Specifically, I am looking for:
Two people - Both human
One of them is supposed to be either a criminal, or someone accused of a crime.
The other can either be a criminal, or one of the sailors that was on the ship.
The Island they are upon is quite large, and will be inhabited with strange creatures.
Adrissa (My character) Would have also been one of the criminals aboard the ship.
The initial purpose of this will be to survive on the island, and eventually be rescued/escape - Whether or not the adventure will continue beyond that will be determined by the opinions of the players involved, and the relationship the characters have following that point (Such is to say, if they hate each other, one of them probably would not have survived the island anyway)

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Renaissance
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.

The setting is fantasy based, actually! Not sure if I specified that.. I meant to.. I should be more clear.
I'm very interested in this and have been needing a reason to create more fantasy characters. (I went on a non-fantasy character spree and now they're all just sitting there, getting all dusty and webbed so ive been wanting to replace them)
