I'm looking for a detailed, plot-driven roleplay. Some things I’m looking for are equal contributors, someone who doesn’t care about a character’s sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or romantic orientation (I’ve actually had people reject me for these specific reasons on multiple occasions), and someone with well-crafted characters. I have widely varied, (mostly) in-depth characters (some are still newer and not completely “done.”), and I can deliver fairly decent, detailed posts. Plotwise, I’m not 100% sure what I want to do yet, as I prefer thinking over the general plotline and whatnot with a potential partner.

Gonna put a little plug for my want-ad here, since we seem to have some mutual interests (big fan of modern RP with subtle or low-powered fantasy elements)

If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, I'm happy to work on something else. I tend to build my characters to fit the setting, so there's not much to see in my site collection.

Yeah, that's not quite the type of thing I was looking for. (Also, anything with a "kin" species/person is a huge turnoff because of the speshul snowflakes I encounter a lot... |D )

While I might be interested in a modern light fantasy deal, the "building characters for the scenario" thing makes me wary, as I've encountered tons of problems with that in people.

Heh. I'm going to have to retitle that, I think. The Key-kin are just humans with a natural knack. No wings or tails.

Hahahahaha, that's just a personal thing for me. Mostly because of the apparent "otherkin" who would harass me on deviantART and Tumblr because I collect taxidermy and it's "evil" or "offensive."

Yeah, sorry. I've just dealt with so many awful people about it, ranging from severe inconsistencies to trying to make perfect "mates" for my characters...

Oh yeah, that's a poor use of the "write to your setting" approach. The reason I do things that way (apart from my tabletop background, where it's the norm) is because I like to imagine how events in history shaped my character and their family.

I'm kind of romance-neutral, to be honest. I'll go with it if it makes sense, but it's just one ingredient to a story.

Hey there! I'd be interested in a 1-on-1 RP, or maybe just discussing mutual interests for a modern RP and seeing if it goes anywhere. Any gender identity, sex, or orientation is A-OK. It should be mentioned that I'm somewhat new to the site; my one character page is somewhat hastily made and I have many more developed characters than are displayed on my profile. I could provide more information on them as needed. I also read your FAQ - feel free to ignore any kemonomimi-ish stuff you find on my character pages; I almost always default to plain ol' human characters, with the exception of a few fantasy and sci-fi RPs I've had where my partners/friends/what have you really like that stuff. I'm really itching to roleplay with one character in particular in a modern realism setting.

Also, I noticed most of your characters in that category are in their late 20s or 30s. Mine usually hover around eighteen, but this is definitely flexible and I could go up into early twenties. And I think that about wraps it up!

Try this: http://www.rprepository.com/community/forumthread.php?t=21040 . It's really new and should grow into a highly detailed world, though it's not now very detailed at all. It may not be what your looking for in the way of genre or format, but I believe a surprising number of character possibilities fit in.
