Your just an average teenager. You go to school, you go home, that's the normal. Your walking home, staring at your report card and fretting over what your parents will say about your F in history. Who cares about the salem witch trials anyway?! It's not like any of that matters today anyway! While your walking home you look over into the woods and can't help but feel something drawing you towards it. You walk into the woods until you come across a hole in the ground. You bend down to see if there's anything in it. You feel the earth beneath you fall as you go face first into the hole.
When you wake up you rub your head, crawling out if the hole. You don't know how long you've been down there, but something feels...off. regardless, you start to head home, only realizing when you get there that it isn't home. It looks like you've been transported into the past, as your city is replaced with a village. You walk around the village, trying to find some clue as to where you are when you run into someone. You rub your neck and apologize, when you see the kid look at your clothes then take several steps back wide eyed, almost scared. You raise an eyebrow and are about to speak when the kid starts screaming.
"WITCH!!! THERE'S A WITCH!!!" Now your really confused, and start to panic as a crowd forms around you. Your surrounded by whispers when what looks like the village head walks up to you, takes one look at you and shouts.
"Their clothes!! They're not like ours!" He turns to the crowd and points to you. "We will not allow this witch to take our village! You've all heard about what happened to the village several years back that sheltered one of those demons! DEATH BY FIRE TO THE UNCLEAN ONE!!!" Many of the villagers grab you and bind you, walking you to the village square while the villagers shout insults at you. They tie you to a stake, douse you in gas, and just about start the flames when a shout comes from the crowd.
"STOP!!!" You hear a woman's voice echo from the crowd. Moments later a woman climbs onto the platform and stands between you and the leader. "This isn't right!!! They havent even had a chance to defend themselves!" She says, her arms outstretched to protect you. All you can see is her long, wavy black hair from behind.
"Raven...don't interfere. Why are you protecting this witch?? Are you one of them??" He says to the girl with anger on his face.
"of course I'm not! I was just thinking that maybe they're being controlled! I mean look at them! They're terrified! Maybe a witch took control of them! Which is exactly why you need to spare them!"
"Why...? Because you think they wer controlled?"
"No. Because they could tell us who the others are." Whispers come among the crowd as the leader silences them all and looks at the girl. After a moment the girl speaks up. " think about it. If they arent a witch and truly were controlled, they could help us find and get rid of the rest!" The leader thinks, amd after deciding to let you help them, the girl undoes the ropes and leads you to her house. She hands you a bowl of soup as she continues to cook. You take the soup and eat, stunned by everything.
"T-thank you...." you can't think of anything to say or ask, but one question pops in your mind. "Umm...ma'am?? How did you know I wasn't a witch??" The girl bites her lower lip, hiding her face behind her hair. After several minutes of silence she speaks in a low, hushed whisper.
".......because I am one...."
