So, I am pretty sure that it says, when you block someone, that they can no longer reply to your RP ideas in the Looking for RP section. However, I have discovered, it still lets the person I have blocked reply, I just don't see a notification about it on my dashboard. Why is that? I can't figure out if I misread something, or it's some kind of bug? I mean, I'm positive I blocked them, but low and behold, they still reply to my looking for RP posts and I just don't know it until I look at the actual thread and see they responded.

I think that is a leftover from before the RP Finder and Looking for RP board got merged. It used to be that you could respond to the RP Finder concept and it alerted the OP with a default message (So and so is interested in your concept) - being blocked meant you couldn't do that.

This method doesn't exist anymore though. Now it's merged with the LFRP forum, which means your concept is a forum topic and treated as such. Blocking an individual doesn't stop them from responding to your topics (they can't PM you though).

I recommend talking to a moderator to see what the best thing is you can do to get them to stop trying to start roleplays with you for your particular situation. In the meantime, my advice is to ignore them until then!

Ah, I see. Well, that would make sense. I should have thought of that, that it could be leftover from before they merged the two.

Eh, well, I'll just leave it alone then. I just wasn't sure if there was something wrong or not.

Sanne is right that the message is old; I had no idea it still contained inaccurate info, so please do drop a bug report to me so I can get that fixed and credit you with finding it. :)

That said, that people can still respond willy nilly to your Find RP concepts is a very interesting use case that we should probably move to accommodate.

I will do so Kim!

Unfortunately, I get a bit tired of people who reply to almost every single looking for RP post, sometimes to the point where it appears to me like they don't even read what the post they're responding to is about. I don't know if spam is against the rules or not, but it certainly gets old for me to see the same player name name over and over when I'm browsing the Looking for RP forums.

Spam responses are definitely against the rules, and you can feel free to report them. We want to encourage high quality and thoughtful responses to RP ideas. Just make sure to include a note about what the problem you had with the response was when you hit that report button! :)

I'm pleased to report that not only has that message when blocking someone been updated to contain more up to date information, it's now also true that someone you have blocked can't respond to LFRP topics that you start.
Just a few questions Kim, if you are blocked by someone, can you 1) subscribe to their topics, 2) get around a block by anonymous, 3) join a game as anonymous with them and 4) be in a PM chatroom with them, anon or not?

I believe, Dragon, that blocks are supposed to extend to all characters belonging to the player, presumably anonymous or not.

You can subscribe to their public topics, as stuff done in public is public.

You cannot use an anonymous character to get around any form of block, be it responding to a LFRP topic or sending them a PM. Moreover, if you block an anonymous character, then that user's main account and all of their characters will also be blocked from contacting you, even if you don't know what those other identities are.

Blocking any portion of an account will block the whole account, no matter what characters the blockee creates or delete. Even if they delete the character that you'd originally blocked.
