Akilina Nadezhda (played by ZrinX) Topic Starter

Akilina woke up to the sound of creaking metal. She was in a claustrophobic bunk, The privacy curtain drawn. She couldn’t remember what had happened. Why was she in this strange bed, This definitely wasn’t her room. A sudden, loud clang broke her from her thoughts. It came from outside the room. It sounded like someone had dropped a wrench onto the cold, steel floor.

She slowly peeked her head out of the curtain. She was in a wood paneled room. The bunk bed was nestled in the corner of the room, A closed door was located on the opposite side of the room. A messy desk sat next to the bunk bed, The chair had been knocked over. Papers were strewn about like there had been a struggle. Another set of bunks sat across from the desk. The privacy curtains were drawn on those as well. She peeked her head out a little further to see a line of lockers set against the far wall. She looked down at the bunk below her, The curtain was open. She slowly leaned over to peer inside, It was empty. The bed was completely thrown around, A blood stain on the mattress. This had to be the crew quarters, The researchers had their own rooms.

She pushed the privacy curtain all the way open and swung her feet over the edge. Her heart was beating so loud it sounded like a separate entity. It almost scared her to death. She quietly pushed herself off the top bunk and landed silently. She just realized she was barefoot.

She quickly hit the ground when she heard another clang. It sounded like it was right outside the room. She quickly slid under the bottom bunk and hid. She stayed there for a good few minutes, Keeping a close eye on the door. She slowly built up the courage to slide out and stand back up. She slowly stalked to the door. She leaned against the wall and looked at the light feeding in through the gaps in the door. The lights outside were flickering. She stayed motionless for what seemed like forever before another clang rang out. Her heart stopped as she crouched down. The lights had stopped flickering.

She slowly turned the doorknob and cracked the door an inch. Outside was a cramped hallway. The steel was worn, The paint flaking off. She couldn’t see the end of the hall from her angle. She grasped at her hip, Her sidearm wasn’t there. She must have lost it at some point. She opened the door a little further and stuck her head out. Lights were flickering at the end of the hall, where there was a junction. It intersected with another hall before it led to a staircase leading up and down. She jumped when another clang rang out. It sounded like it was right next to her. She quickly turned her head to look in the other direction, There was nothing there. More wooden doors lined the hallway. There were various other offshoots from this hallway. Right beside her door was a red pipe leading from the floor to the ceiling. That must have been the source of the clanging. Akilina breathed a sigh of relief, Her heart rate began slowing down.

She tensed back up when a soft growl came from behind her. She whipped her head around in time to see the lights flicker off, The junction became dark. She could hear soft footfalls nearing the junction. She quickly but quietly closed the door. She made her way back under the bunk and pulled the bloody mattress on top of her.

She could hear the creaking of metal beneath a heavy creature grow closer. The lights outside began to flicker. The flickering of the lights was blocked out by a large shadow moving behind the door. The shadow moved past and the creaking with it. She stayed under the mattress until she could no longer hear the footfalls, Then she stayed a little longer. “One of the creatures must have broken containment.” She thought. “But there are no alarms, Why is that?”

She slowly crawled out from beneath the mattress. She made her way to the door and cracked it again. The lights shone brightly and didn’t flicker. The junction seemed clear. She opened the door a little further and looked the other way, It seemed clear as well. All the door were still closed. She opened the door all the way and stepped out into the hallway. She felt vulnerable, She had no way to defend herself and she was out in the open.

She turned and walked softly towards the junction. She stopped short and looked down the intersecting hallway. Both ways looked clear as well. She walked through it and into the staircase. She ascended the stairs to the next level. The rough metal hurt her feet, “I need to find shoes.” She thought silently. A sealed door greeted her on the next floor. She dug in her pockets for her keycard. “Shit!” She whispered as she came up empty. She turned around and backtracked down the stairs. She looked down the hallway she came down, The lights were flickering at the far end. “No chance.” She thought as she continued down the stairs.
Remus Doran (played by TheTwilightWarrior)

Remus stood at the foot of cargo bay's door, his hat covering the upper half of his red-tinted lenses. If one were to further examine his masked face, one would see a pale blue masculine visage. Remus' power-armoured sabaton laid resting next to the door, along with his arms crossed. He looked as if he was sleeping standing up. He was previously assigned to watch over the anomalous creatures in hopes they wouldn't cause a stir, along with the opportunity to bolster his pockets. A faint wheezing sound could be heard through his mask; a result of his emphysema and reliance on stored oxygen filters. The other cargo-bay guards seemed hesitant to exchange eye or even social contact with him, despite his appearance being more reminiscent of a Wild West gunfighter as opposed to your common man for hire.

Remus' head shot up as he heard a clang not so far from him. He adjusted his hat in order to clear his vision. He looked to his right and sighed. He also noticed his shortness of breath with each passing second. Perhaps... it was time for his prescription. Sighing, he stood up and made his way towards the noise. Whatever it may be, he could also benefit from going to the medical bay for his prescription. As he approached, he let one hand rest on one of his two revolvers tucked in his belt. He quickly drew it as he heard another clang. He pulled the hammer of his revolver and held it to his hip as more clangs began to ring out. Feeling somewhat on edge, he called out. "Hello?!"
Hasgramorne (played by Draken901)

Cairn happened to fall asleep in one of the hallways leading to the cargo bay. Possibly dreaming about the ongoing battles on Hasgramordia, when he awoke to a clang. The same clang that rang throughout the ship. He shook his head, and groggily stood back up, Blazaar on his hip, and launcher strapped to his back. Now that he thinks about it, resting on his launcher possibly wasn't a good idea, as his back kind of hurts now.

He pressed some buttons on a keypad on his right forearm armor, which made his helm and guantlets redeploy. He began walking down the hall, keeping a hand on hi blazaar. "Hey, anyone there?"
Maetharanel (played by HufflepuffPisces)

Maetharanel woke feeling like death warmed up. Whatever they had drugged her with made her head fuzzy and painful, her thoughts disjointed. Clang. The sound rang out, and a distant part of her realised that must have been what woke her. Through the bars of her cage she saw one of the guards moving, presumably to investigate the sound. He was wearing an unusual hat, something she recognised but...the name escaped her foggy brain.

The cage was 10ft square, made of a strange metal that even she, with her Elven strength, couldn't bend or break. The simple bed she was curled up on was bolted in place, a tray in the corner with an empty cup made from the same nigh indestructible metal. She was wearing a fresh set of clothes; simple black leggings and a black, long sleeve top. Her armour and weapons had been taken away, locked in a storage room in the room above the cargo bay. She had heard them admiring it and growled. Not long after someone had decided they'd feel more comfortable with her being sedated regularly. Enough to keep her docile. Apparently she was troublesome. Fiery. A pain in the butt.

She pushed the blanket off her and slowly rose to sit up, the pain in her head increasing and making her eyes water. Slowly she looked around; everything looked the same. The man's back was to her, and she watched him for a moment before trying to speak, her voice a little hoarse. "Hey. Hey, you." She called, and cleared her throat. "Whats going on? What is that?"
Vera Canid leaned back in her seat as she flipped through the notes on her clipboard. It had been rather dull on the ship at the time, no adventure, no big events, nothing that could distract her from her regular work that had now become tedious, she was expecting more when she was allowed the roll of the medic on the ship. The odd humanoid let out a low sigh before standing up and placing the clipboard on a nearby medical table, perhaps staying longer in the infirmary wasn't such a great idea after all. Vera rubbed her tired eyes before making her way to the exit of the infirmary, her tail swayed about with each step she took, what the hell was she doing here? Ina dump like this? Vera couldn't help but smirk as she questioned herself. "hehe....it makes sense for fifth like me to be here...who am I trying to kid?." The halfbreed opened the door and slowly stepped out as she talked to herself. "Something like me? on a shifty ass ship?...really...it's perfect for me." Before vera could continue on with her personal banter a strange sound caught her attention, her ears perked up as she stopped dead in her tracks along with falling silent. Vera stood their with her ears still perked up high as her eyes quickly darted around, the hallways were dark and ominous and the odd clanging sound seemed to be getting louder although she wasn't sure where it was coming from.
Akilina Nadezhda (played by ZrinX) Topic Starter

Akilina knew that there were guards in the cargo bay. It was risky, considering that there was a breach. Who knew what else had escaped, They were transporting some nasty stuff. She wondered if she was the only one left alive. She shook her head and tried to rid her head of those thoughts. She couldn’t think negative right now, There had to be others left alive.

She quietly crept down the stairs. She cut her foot on a jagged piece of metal. “Damn it.” She said. She tried to keep her voice down as much as she could. She didn’t want to attract the attention of the monster. She couldn’t run like this, She had no traction on the slippery metal floor and now she had a cut on her foot. She put a hold on the cargo bay for now and stopped on deck one, The medical bay was on this deck. She vaguely remembered where it was. It didn’t really help because she had no idea where she was on deck one and which way she was facing.

When she arrived on deck one, She looked out into the hall. It continued straight for sometime before it ended in a T-junction. There was an intersecting hallway right outside the door. She peeked around the corner and cleared the hall for as far as she could see. She didn’t expect to come across anyone anytime soon. There weren't that many people on the ship. Only enough guards, researchers, and general staff to make sure everything went relatively smoothly on their journey. She couldn’t even remember where they were going.

She contemplated on which way to go, She decided to go right. Maybe she’ll hit the edge of the ship, Then she could get her bearing a little more. She tried not to put too much pressure on her cut, She didn’t want to move that fast anyway. There were a few wooden doors that lined the hall. Every time she came to one she opened it up to see if anyone was hiding out in the room. She had no such luck before she came to another four way intersection. She peeked around the corners, Empty halls. The lamps lit the hall brightly but the isolation still put her on edge. She knew there was something roaming the ship that could kill her.

She continued on her heading, Opening doors as she went. One of the rooms had a flashlight on laying on a desk. She maneuvered around the clutter and picked it up. She flicked it on, It shone against the wall with intensity. She turned it off and stuffed the metal flashlight in her pocket, She didn’t need it now. If the power ever went off though, She was prepared now. Feeling a little more secure, she stepped out into the hallway again and continued her journey. She took a glance behind her, The hall extended so far that she could barely see the end. She turned back around and continued to creep along.

She came across a small, red sign with a white cross in it. A little arrow pointed the the left. Ahead of her was a four way intersection. She looked both ways and proceeded left. She quickened her pace slightly, The pain in her foot still stung with every step. She stopped checking rooms and just kept walking.

She stopped, She thought she had heard something. It was the clanging again. She looked behind her, The lights started flickering. She looked back forward, Medical wasn’t far away. She decided to make a break for the medical bay. The pain in her foot disappeared as the adrenaline started pumping. The clanging kept following her, Was whatever it was making that sound? It didn’t sound like footsteps, More like someone striking the walls. The clang reverberated throughout the halls as she kept her pace up. The lights around her started to flicker, It was catching up to her. She saw another medical sign, It pointed to the left this time. She ran around the corner. Her heart almost stopped when she saw someone standing there. She quickly tried to stop herself, She only succeeded in slipping and falling backwards. She hit the floor hard, The metal flashlight in her pocket made a loud bang as it fell out of her pocket. She looked up, The person standing in front of her looked strange yet oddly familiar, Her dog ears were definitely odd. She quickly scrambled for her flashlight. Once it was in hand she looked back, The lights were flickering badly. It was coming for them. She scrambled to her feet, “There’s something coming, We need to hide!” She whispered in a heavy Russian accent, She looked around. There was a door right next to them, What luck. She opened the door, “In here!” She said as she ran in.

It was a supply closet, Spare medical supplies lined shelves. The were a few lockers inside, She opened one. It was empty save for a few miscellaneous items on the bottom. She sighed, There was no time to look for a better hiding spot. She kicked the stuff out of the locker and looked back to the strange lady. “We have to hide in here, No other choice.” She said as quickly as she could, Her accent made that difficult. She stepped in the locker and closed the door. She took care to not close it all the way lest she got locked in.
Remus Doran (played by TheTwilightWarrior)

The clanging awakened a sudden impulse in him. Whatever it was, it was certainly nothing friendly. What the hell...? I thought they were well secured! He thought to himself, believing a few of the detainees happened to escape. He couldn't hear what the elf was saying as he suddenly started running towards the source of the clanging, his armoured sabatons making faint hissing noises as its pressurised anatomy went in motion with his steps. His shortness in breath suddenly became more apparent; he needed his prescription, especially if he were to face off with any of the escaped detainees.

As he ran, he tried his best to recollect on the location of the medical bay. The seemingly endless halls didn't help much either, save imprinted signs of the directions for the bay. As he ran, he kept his revolver to his side, ready to fan all six shots into the escaped anomaly, before potentially fanning a secondary barrage of bullets. He was hoping his .45's would be enough to blast through the (in his mind at least) thick skin or flesh for a proper kill. His eyes widened as he took sight of Cairn. "Hey! You heard that, right?" He called out to the Saerinian guard.
Hasgramorne (played by Draken901)

As Cairn was walking, he was beginning to hear the clanging again, and a new sound, heavy footsteps coming from where he just came out of. He grabs his blazaar, whips around and aims it at Remus for a second, before putting it back in it's holster and giving a relieved sigh. "Yeah, sounds like it's coming from around the med bay. I was just heading there."

He takes notice of Remus' breathing pattern. Sounds like he has asthma or something. "Hey, you alright? Running down the hall get you exhausted or somethin'?"
Maetharanel (played by HufflepuffPisces)

By the time her voice managed to work properly the man had disappeared, and apparently hadn't heard her or didn't care to come back. That wasn't particularly unusual, none of the guards really talked. Some just stood there, completely ignorant to the prisoners and others only interacted in terms of taunting and insulting them.

She sighed and stood, tensing and relaxing each muscle several times before stretching as she did each day. The occasional guard would watch her as she did, earning him an icy glare and the occasional threat. She had learnt that threats sometimes earned her sedation, so she mostly stuck to her glaring.

More clanging. It sounded like one of the prisoners was banging their cup against the cell bars, like the other day. Or was it week? It was so hard to tell in here. But this clanging was strange. The sound travelled and echoed a little. Hard to pinpoint it's origin even for her.
Vera cocked her head to the side in confusion. She stood out side of the room silently as she watched the woman scramble with emptying one of the many lockers in the storage room, normally she would have scolded someone who was making a mess or her working environment and her supplies in general, but this seemed like a matter of importance. Vera slowly walked into the room and closed the door behind her carfully, as not to make any loud noises. In a soft feminine voice, Vera whispered." Are you alright? You fell earlier, are you hurt? Are you having a paranoia attack?, just please get out of that locker and let me have a look at you."Vera said with concern in her voice as she waited for the woman to answer her." I am a doctor after all and have been given the duty to ensure this crew is in good health." Vera kept her hand gripped onto the door knob as she continued to talk.

Thud, Thud, Thud, what hell was that sound? Vera thought to herself, it sounded like...footsteps, was someone running around in the halls? Perhaps that's what she heard earlier and that's what frightened the woman so much? Regardless she had to be carful and cautious, with a slow turn of the knob and a slight nudge the door was open, although the just a crack open, enough for her to see outside of the room." If your hurt my dear, I strongly advise you come with me, being in here and locked up like that won't help."
Akilina Nadezhda (played by ZrinX) Topic Starter

“I am not paranoid.” She said sternly. “There is something walking around out there that could kill us. You need to make sure it does not see you or we'll both be killed. I do not want to die because of you not believing me.” She said as the girl peeked through the door. She heard thudding outside, that wasn't the monster. The monster walked softly, someone else was out there.

The lights outside the door began to flicker and turn off. The hall outside became pitch black. The soft footfalls could be heard as the creature walked nearby. “Hide!” She pleaded. “It's coming.” She hunkered down in the locker and waited for it to pass.
Remus Doran (played by TheTwilightWarrior)

As Cairn pointed his blazaar at him, he slowly raised revolver till its barrel was facing the ceiling and let his free hand come up as if to say 'I surrender'. He let his hands go loose once Cairn holstered it. "Same... I need my oxygen prescription anyway. That's why I've been breathing a little irregularly." He said before bolting off towards the direction of the medical bay. He stopped and looked back at Cairn. "It seems one of the subjects are loose. Best we hurry and subdue it before it ends up hurting anyone."
Hasgramorne (played by Draken901)

"Something escaped? You know what did? Is it dangerous?" He began running down the halls with Remus, hoping to get to the medical bay before something else does. Who knows what could be lurking around the ship?
Maetharanel (played by HufflepuffPisces)

She sighed and once again shuffled over to the door, placing her back against it. She then lifted a foot and put it between two bars as leverage to push against the door. It wouldn't budge, the hinges held. Within the first few days in there she had tried everything she could think of. There were no weaknesses in the metal or the construction of the cage. The only time she could get out of the cage was bathroom and shower breaks, for which she was always given a small amount of sedative and escorted under armed guard.

The clanging continued still, and it unsettled her.
Vera slowly closed the door and kept her grip around the knob, was this for real? Did something actually escape out of the cargo hold? Whelp, it looked like her night wasn't going to be boring after all." Fine, I'll take your word for it, I'd rather not test fate" The skeptical dog girl said as she let go of the door knob and quickly started to search her pockets for her Keys, she didn't have the keys to the entirety of the ship it's self, but only the keys to the section she worked in, the lab, the medical Bay and the storage room. Vera let out a low animalistic growl as she pulled her hands out of her pockets, damn! Was the only word that rang through her mind right now, how the hell could she be so careless as to forget them in the med Bay? Vera cracked the door open one last time, maybe she could run to the med Bay? And draw what ever it was away? The halfbreeds eyes lit up with horror as she saw the lightd go out one by one."W-What the?." Vera whispered, her ears twitched as she heard a second sound, something else was moving, slowly, but in their area regardless. Taking the russian womans advicr Vera took a deepbreath before slowly slinking away from the door and towards one of the lower cupboards in the room, she didn't want to risk making any noise by shutting the door or moving things around so simply crawled into the empty spot and quitly closed the small wooden cupboard door.
Akilina Nadezhda (played by ZrinX) Topic Starter

As the lights flickered off, The room grew more and more dark. The soft footsteps from the creature edged closer and closer. As the last of the lights flickered off in the hall, The room fell into complete darkness. The footsteps grow louder and louder until the stopped, Right outside the door.

The loud thudding resumed somewhere nearby. It sounded like someone in powered armor, It must be a guard. The creature uttered a low, guttural clicking sound. It let out a sharp hiss and the footsteps rapidly receded down the hall. A loud clanging started Akilina, She let out a breath as she listened. The soft footsteps were gone, Only the heavy thudding remained.

She slowly cracked the locker door and slid out silently. She crouched low and walked to the door. She pressed her ear to the door and listened, She didn’t hear it. She saw the lights flickering back on from under the door. She turned the doorknob and peeked outside. She could see a ventilation crate laying on the floor, Not far from where she was. She opened the door all the way and stepped out. She looked behind her, To make sure she wasn’t being tricked. She turned back around once she was satisfied the creature was gone, for now.

She stepped closer to the vent and leaned over, trying to see inside. She was interrupted when the thudding turned the corner further down the hall, It was indeed a man in a powered suit. She did a double take when she saw the cowboy trailing behind him.

She silently pressed her finger against her lips, Signaling for them to be quiet. She then gestured with her head to the open vent. She mouthed, “It’s in there.”
Remus Doran (played by TheTwilightWarrior)

"I... I don't know..." Remus said wearily. "Whatever it is, it probably needs to die..." He held his revolver to his side as he sprinted towards the medical bay. Unfortunately, it seemed whatever's out is in the same exact direction. He felt himself sweat somewhat. He was never really one for closed-in spaces and the thought of something jumping at him behind any corner set him on edge.

Remus ground to a stop as Cairn would near the medical bay. He looked over Cairn's shoulder to see Akilina. He nodded as she mouthed the creature being in the vent. As quiet as he could, he squeezed himself passed Cairn and trotted cautiously to the vent, revolver by his side. He couldn't help the fact of his power-armoured sabatons making hissing noises as he made his approach. Standing in front of the vent, he would bring his left cybernetic hand to his opposite hip just behind the revolver's hammer.
Hasgramorne (played by Draken901)

"That is, if it's actually dangerous. For all we know it could just be some sort of space gerbil." He continued running down the halls to the med bay with Remus. When he saw Akilina and the torn off vent grate, he slung his cannon over from off of his back and trotted over to the vent with Remus, loading a single concussive rocket. He then pressed a button on his armor's right forearm, enabling thermal vision. He looked over Remus' shoulder down the vent.

"Say lassy, did you catch what it looked like? Did anything happen?"
Maetharanel (played by HufflepuffPisces)

She looked at the other cages, just like hers. Most of the occupants were sleeping under sedation, on the bed or the floor. A few were awake, staring ahead with wide eyes. And a couple were as awake and sane as she was, and they all looked at each other with expression of worry, panic and confusion.

She heard something coming from the walls, like an echo. Something in a vent system? Wonderful. If it stopped by the cargo bay it would have plenty to choose from, and the only thing they'd be able to do would be to sit in the middle of their cage and hope it couldn't reach.

That's what you get for locking people and creatures up. Sometimes one wilk escape and want revenge. She thought wryly.
