...now that we have editable CSS?

Having made myself something of a career on Gaia Online working with their CSS structure and doing quite well, if I may say so myself, I'm curious as to whether there would be a market for such ilk here.

I'm still learning the Div structure that RP Repository uses, but once I'm comfortable, the offer is most certainly there...

I'm curious as to how much people would pay, and whether or not there will ever be an option to 'gift' a membership to someone (after all, it'll be awefully hard to code if I don't have a membership of my own...)

I own the character CSS Test. Once I get home tonight I plan on playing around. Feel free to friend the character (He needs friends so that I can test what they'll look like!

Yes, this will definitely be something available in the near future.

I suspect that if there isn't a big market for CSS smiths today, there most certainly will be down the line. It always seems to become a cottage industry wherever customization is available, given some time. It may be too shiny and new for people to have seen and understand the possibilities. :)

Depends on the people who want them.

There is definitely a market in Custom Templates. But perhaps it's also wise to consider the following facts:

- Only epics have editable layouts right now.
- They're already paying for the memberships.
- Custom character templates will cost money as well and will become useless if the membership stops.

Only a very small number of people are willing to dish out a lot of money for a template, so I'm expecting this to run only when the templates are fairly cheap. (Naturally, the more kick-butt templates are, the more people are willing to pay for it!)

Maybe I'm entirely off on this one though. :P I've no real interest in buying templates considering I can make my own.

That's exactly what I was thinking, actually. There's 'upkeep cost' to having a template. And if you can't afford to pay your Epic, you wasted your money on a template.

I'm slightly concerned that the going price wouldn't be worth the amount of work and time I put into them; perhaps I'll just whip up a few generic versions of ones I've done for my characters, and then throw them about as the 'available for use for everyone'.

I'd honestly be more interested in paying for custom graphics for templates, but I've done CSS coding before. I cannot do the drawing, though, which makes making things prettiful difficult, even if I can arrange them.

I wouldn't be too sure that buying an epic membership will deter people from then buying custom artwork or templates. A certain percentage certainly will have spent their limit. However, the fact that someone picked up an epic membership is evidence in and of itself that the person in question has at least a little bit of "fun" money -- As awesome as the RPR is, not even I would make the case that it's as essential as purchasing food or paying rent. ;)

Meh, food and rent are unimportant compared to coming here and interacting with all the fun people ;)
