His name was Kai and he was a merman. Well, merboy would be a better description, being that he was only 10. Right now he broke through the surface and was watching a group of humans sitting on a boat trying to catch a glimpse of a mermaid or merman. It made his giggle at how eager these people were. Why? Kai knew that he and his kind were rare, in fact, most believed they didn't exist. But it still confused him as to why they would be so intrigued.
Grinning mischievously, the young merboy slipped under the water and he went over to the boat. Once there, there was a guy and girl sitting at the edge not paying attention. So he promptly splashed them!

The boy rested on the boat swinging his legs back and forth against the surface of the water, why his father dragged him on this crazy fishing trip is beyond him, and all because of rumors of a mermaid. No wonder the other kids made fun of him, his father was a nut.

Dousing the one closest which was the boy, Kai giggled to himself and dove back under, watching with his sea-green gaze filled with mirth. His hair was long and black, it has shells and seaweed stuck in it too. His black tail moved back and forth, keeping him in one place.

"What was that !"
The boy stated as he soft up from his place on the boat.

Grinning wider, Kai swam up and through the surface of the water gazing up at the shocked boy. "Hello!" he greeted cheerfully.

Alex stood there in shock, internally he was screaming though.

Kai's eyes twinkled with amusement and so he swam closer. "Hello?" he repeated.

"Your real?"
He asked in a quiet voice.

Soo Jung was sitting on a rock admiring all the little fishes. When Soo Jung was younger she wanted to be a veterinarian. Now her dream was just to get into medical school. Her family decided to spend time at the lake for a “family vacation” Soo Jung watched as a boy was talking to the water. “How interesting,” she said to herself. Getting a better look she saw it was a merboy. She could hardly believe her eyes. She didn’t think they existed and she didn’t bother telling her Oppa ( older brother) or her Dongsang ( younger sister) because there was a high chance they would think she’s nuts.
