Evelyn lived at an apartment, but it was on the bottom floor and in a residential area, so she was sure she'd be getting some trick-or-treaters.

To ensure that her place was not missed, she had gone to great lengths to decorate the outside. There was a display of a spider web in her window that had lights on it, which were blinking on and off in an eye-catching patterns. Brightly painted jack-o-lanterns with twisted grins, leering eyes and long fangs lined the sidewalk in front of her apartment. She had a large poster of a black cat on her door.

She had left her door open, but the storm door was shut. Her own black cat, Midna, often peered out of the screen, peering out at the world with large eyes and meowing. Her pink nose wrinkled up as she took in the scents coming in off the breeze.

Evelyn herself was dressed up as what she was: a witch! Of course, her true identity was a secret, but this was the one day of the year when she could be 'herself.' She wore the typical witch hat, and a black dress that ended at her knee with some purple and black striped stockings and knee-high black boots that looked more practical than feminine. Her hair was purple, and her eyes were green currently. One could see a cauldron with some bubbling green substances, and steam rising from it, through the door to her kitchen. Her living room was decorated with cobwebs, spiders, paintings of haunted houses and monsters, and, what looked like a large punch bowl with misshapen eye balls in it was on the coffee table.

A huge bowl of candy, and another bowl with what looked like little toys and party favors, were on a little table next to the front door. So maybe she likes Halloween. A lot. She patiently waited for trick-or-treaters, trying not to look too excited, as she watched movies like Hocus Pocus or Corpse Bride and glanced toward her window often for trick-or-treaters.
After what seemed like the umpteenth time someone had shouted "Starlord, yeahhhh!" right at his face, Ajax decided he had enough of it. He didn't even know what it meant. Was it a new way of greeting around here? Was it a holiday he didn't know about that was happening right besides Halloween? Well, whatever it was, he could see a bunch of other party-goers ahead that was definitely going to pass along his way and would most likely scream at his face. Judging by the way they were stumbling around, it might not even be the only thing he might get right up on his face.

"Ugh, I hate drunks. They're too noisy," Ajax muttered under his breath, the irony was lost on him that he fit the bill exactly as he imagined it. But that was them and he was a special kind of breed when it came to drinking. Which he probably shouldn't do tonight, he had a mission to do. "I better hide or something."

Looking around, Ajax saw an open door and threw caution to the wind. The fact that it had an overflowing amount of decorations was indication enough that it was open for trick-or-treaters, something he could pass himself off as one, so he decided that he would stay there until the drunken group had passed.

"Hi there kitty cat! Are you guarding this, uhh, bowl of candies? Huh? Can I get some?" He hunkered down to talk to the feline, hoping that his massive form and red jacket would pass by unnoticed from the street.

Loki, the norse lord of mischief and trickery, could not possibly skip the opportunity to leave a mark on the event, more given the newcommer's worries. As he left Asgard to enter planet Earth and mingle with humans the lights flickered, as if it were an inconvenient but brief power cut.

Loki appeared seemingly from nowhere, a sly and devious smile across his face and disappeared just as equally fast as he had dared turn up, wandering down the street to cause further chaos.

What he did, however, was to mix up time and place, plucking Caesar out of Rome and leaving the emperor standing by the door.

Caesar frowned at finding himself suddenly taken by the unknown gods to an unknown place but decided to accept this unusual change of fates and investigate where he was and what was going on.

Logically there was a door open before him and opened at that, invitingly so, thus, he let himself into the appartment scanning the surroundings.

"Greetings... I am Gaius Julius Caesar, emperor of Rome" informed and introduced Caesar in the most serious and formal tone, clearly acting the part.

Evelyn was tending to her potion and adding some sort of powder she had ground up in a bowl, glancing over her shoulder and seeing that someone had entered her apartment. The storm door had been shut, but she had tried to be inviting and it seemed to have worked. She figured they would have knocked beforehand. Blinking whenever she saw that it was a handsome, muscular man she muttered to herself, "Oh my. Hello."

The black cat, Midna, meowed and chirped at Maverick, the side of her face rubbing against his hand. She seemed to think that the candy bowl was her bed and stepped into it, her frame curling over the plastic wrappers as she showed her belly, as if inviting him to scratch it.

Evelyn appeared at his side, "Don't do it, it's a trap! She'll attack after just two pets. 'Cause she's a naughty kitty. Are you a trick or treater? Did you come here seeking refuge? Do you want some punch? They aren't real eyeballs, it's just ice cubes with pieces of candy in it." The group of trick or treaters arrived at the door and Evelyn snatched up the bowl of candy with Midna still in it, the cat jumped toward Maverick, alarmed by the sudden motion.

The group of people that Maverick had fled appeared at her door, drawn by her Halloween display. She chattered with them about their costumes, asking and answering questions. "Do you want some party favors or toys, too? They do some neat tricks!" More like pranks, but they didn't need to know that. Taking up some paper cups that were also on the table with the bowls, she said, "I have some eyeball punch too, but it's just candy and ice, not real eyeballs, don't worry."

"What's that potion in the back?" one of them asked.

"It's a Hiccuping Potion! But it's not ready yet, so I can't send any with you to give to people. They'd probably get a nosebleed or a pimple instead at this point, it's not ready." The party going trick or treaters accepted the party favors and drinks before moving on, having given each other looks as if asking each other if she was serious or just very good at deadpan humor. Maybe they just couldn't figure it out because they were drunk, they thought to themselves.

Turning back to Maverick, looking for Midna, she set the bowls of candy and little toys back down. "I'm Evelyn! That's Midna," gesturing to the cat, wherever she was by now, if Maverick hadn't caught her.

No sooner had the trick-or-treaters left, musing over the eccentric young woman, whenever the emperor arrived. This was turning into an impromptu party. "Hello! I'm Evelyn! Do you want some punch or candy? I didn't see you just then, it's like you appeared out of nowhere. Maybe I should get my eyes checked. Or you're sneaky." She was impressed with how serious his voice and mannerisms were, just as much as she was his 'costume.'

"Have you taken acting lessons? You're so serious," examining him. "Where did you get this made? This is better than cosplay," poking at his attire, his shoulder specifically.

"Ave" saluted Caesar at Maverick

"Ave" saluted Caesar at Evelyn, on each occasion raising his palm up and forward and letting it drop relaxed, greeting them in a very Roman fashion turning the attention to the host.

"I cannot quite explain how I ended up here but I shall certainly partake of your feast, since you so graciously invited me" nodded Caesar with a warm smile looking around amused

"As for the armour... it is usually made by slaves at the blacksmith's forge, only the finest to be had of course" mused Caesar looking at the cat

Caesar smiled noticing the cat and petted the head "My friend pharaoh Cleopatra from Egypt had one almost exactly like it" noted Caesar glad to find something in common between this world and his

"So what festival are you celebrating?" asked Caesar interested

Evelyn thought that this guy had his Roman knowledge downpat, quirking a brow at his explanation but deciding to offer him some candy and punch all the same.

The cat was very interested in Ceasar as well, twining about his legs and mewing a couple of times. "Oh yes, the Egyptians revered cats, I have more but they are shy, not outgoing like Midna here." She was not really sure how to handle his remark over how the armor was made. Evelyn glanced over to Maverick, gauging his own reaction to how seriously this Ceaser guy was sticking to character.

Giving him a look as if he were being very odd, her head tilting a bit, she said, "Halloween. All Hallows Eve? The night when the spirits walk among the living and all that?"
anon (played anonymously)

"May fortune help us all, if Hades is indeed walking among the living then it would be most unwise to venture out" gasped Caesar horrified to hear of spirits of the dead were freely walking among the living

"Here, here, I shall pay lodging at once..." insisted Caesar extending a pouch full of coins. They would indeed all look more or less alike one another, bearing his own inscription of course.

"I believe it to be sufficient for sheltering on this dark night of woe" mused Caesar accepting the punch and candy glancing at Maverick "And better you shelter this one too" muttered Caesar for good measure
Bliksem (played by Pirate)

Drunk bets among friends made for interesting, yet embarrassing challenges. Like every Halloween the young Ork enjoyed going outside, dressed up as a spooky something. Sadly this year he decided to be a brave and risky fellow, taking on a bet that he could outdrink his friend, Gangplank, a massive troll of a man. Needless to say, Bliksem lost, and thus he had to honour his bet.

Over a dark street he walked, his lips turned to a scowl as the grip around his woven basket tightened. It may have been a chilly night, but at least he wouldn't be cold thanks to his fluffy white bunny outfit. All night he had to go trick or treat in this cutesy outfit. How he loathed it. At least he was still allowed to wear his blue glasses. That softened the blow a bit.

"Go to that apartment, mate! There's people there." A voice spoke in Bliksem's ear through a commlink as a nicely decorated place came into view. Bliksem took a deep breath."God damn it, I hate you guys." He muttered under his breath as he would walk up to the door, swiping his one floppy ear out of his face.

The Ork took note of the people there. One visitor was a strong musclebound man, which reminded Bliksem of a jock he used to know back in the day when he was a teen. The other man, who seemed to be in deep in his role, made the bunny looking man a bit more relaxed as he was suddenly not the strangest person at the door anymore.

His gaze turned to the woman. For a moment he didn't say anything, not even a hello. He just took a deep breath."Do it! Do it!" The voice in his ear urged him on.

Suddenly Bliksem would be doing a little dance, throwing out his left and right leg to the sides repeatedly while holding onto his basket of candy. If that wasn't awkward enough, he also start singing.
"I'm a little bunny-boo
Let me do this dance for you.
If you like it give me a treat
chocolate, peanuts, candy sweet.
Sugar makes me hoppity hop
If I have none I may as well stop.~"

After that performance the Ork fell to his knee, holding out the basket for his reward. The laughter in his ear was deafening, adding to his embarrassment.
There was laughter in the streets as Janine walked down with a friend of hers at her side. Both of their cheeks were flushed, a sign of their obvious intoxication as the ambled ever closer to the decorated abodes. Some of the apartments were bare, naked, and boring... these deterred the two that shared their mirth and jovial stories while in their drunken stupor.

One apartment that had been the first of many called out to both Janine and her feathered friend, as it had been decorated quite liberally -- it was hard to miss. What was even harder to miss were how many people that had gathered around the entrance. It seemed like maybe there was a costume party underway.

The guest dressed in the bunny outfit stood out the most -- naturally. During All Hallow's Eve, who would be dressed for Easter? The sight alone made Janine snicker, which in turn made Seria start to laugh as it infected her. Even more still as both Janine and Seria watched the bunny man in front of the house start to dance and sing.

"Pfftah-haha!" Janine wheezed. She needed to take time between breaths as she used Seria for support. "Zenith above, never in all my life would I though I'd be able to see something like that -- even with all my visits to Opyria! That's one hell of an introduction to someone's party, I'll say that much!"

Seria let out gentle chuckles here and there as she did what she could to support Janine the best she could manage.

A paleskinned elf approached the dancing Bliksem, holding out a small camera and pursing her lips as she caught the entire show. "Whoa. Doing good there Bliksem." The elf who went by the name 'Yin' said. Her own costume was rather simple. She was wearing contacts that made her eyeballs completely blank, was wearing torn greenish-white robes and had applied dark patches around her eyes that made her look like a banshee.

She looked at everyone around her, a lot of strange figures as could be expected on a night as this. Most of them were probably not even as strange as they currently looked. Especially the one with the whole Roman act going on caught her eye. That was some very good acting indeed!
If the appearance of a total beaut hadn't already startled Maverick, then the warning that came suddenly had certainly caused the man to flinch and freeze. "Huh? Trap? Wha—?"

Double the trouble when the cat suddenly jumped towards him as the gang of intoxicated revelers had decided to swing by. For some damnable reason, they had chosen the exact place he was trying to escape the group from and went on to accost the two of them. He turned his back to most of the commotion, only answering the lady and reacting to what the guys were saying with some "Oh, yeah?" or "Hmm, I see!" and the occasional "Uhuh, that sounds awesome!" all the while facing the wall.

Preoccupied at not being someone who would stand out, the inexplicable appearance of another cast of misfits went by behind his back without him noticing how strange everything had become all of a sudden. All he heard were laughter, an offer to stay, people introducing themselves—he caught the name Evelyn at the very least, he would definitely remember that—and someone bursting into song. Well, that was certainly something he could not afford not to see.

Maverick turned around to see a motley crew of stranger people, if that was even possible at this point, and attributed the fact that it was all because of this infernal holiday. Not that he had anything against Halloween, celebrating craziness was something he could get on, but it made the current mission of his extremely difficult to accomplish.

"Thanks for the offer, demented soldier. But I can't really stay long," he offered the man a pat on the shoulder and turned to the others. "Very VERY nice to meet you Evelyn, you'll definitely hear from me. I share the same sentiments as our pirate friend here; terrific show bunny-guy. Oh, and send me a clip of that video. Thanks, little ghostie-girl." Maverick added a wink at the end and flicked both hands like guns, reaching over to pat the cat and grabbing some candy.

"Oh, and Evelyn! I might drop again later once I'm done with my job and when it's just the two of us. But don't wait up!"

The man threw a piece of candy in his mouth as he went the other direction as the drunk bunch.

The young woman opened the pouch that Caeser gave her and was astonished to see the coins inside, testing them to see if they were real gold. "The weirdos are out but you could stay in a five star hotel with this. Did you just get out of an asylum?" she asked with a suspicious voice, eyes narrowing a bit. Her demeanor brightened after an uncomfortable pause. "I'm just going to assume that you are very dedicated to your costume. You are of course invited to stay, but I will only settle for one of your coins in exchange from sheltering you from the spirits and the weirdos."

She took a single coin and then tried to insist that he take the rest of the coins back. "These are rare historical items, you are very generous but I cannot accept them. Or perhaps you had them made yourself." The witch began to look more thoughtful, it was Halloween night. "Just how did you end up here?"

The young woman was excited to see another trick-or-treater at her door, though she paused, her jaw going somewhat slack whenever she saw what it was. It looked like someone in a costume . . . who was wearing another costume. Her surprise deepened whenever he went into a little song and dance, almost dropping the bowl of candy but catching it just in time. Leaning toward Caeser and Maverick, she asked, "Are y'all seein' what I'm seein, or did I add the wrong ingredients to my potion?"

Once she was sure that this was not a hallucination, she burst into laughter. "For that, you deserve a special addition to your punch," she said. Taking out a bottle of clear liquor, she added a generous portion of it to the punch and handed it over to him. She added several pieces of candy to his basket as well, speaking confidentially, "But I would like to inform you that you seem to have mixed up your holidays quite a bit . . . but somehow you made it work," she handed the punch in a paper cup to him.

The black cat, Midna, visited everyone in the room, wanting attention, sniffing at people. She jumped to a shelf that was next to Evelyn's door, trying to bat at the Ork's floppy ear.

Evelyn was disappointed whenever Maverick said that he had to leave, but she waved good-bye at him. "I'll be up late, but maybe you can drop by another time," she called after him as he left, busy greeting some other people that had arrived at her apartment. The witch was regretful, things had been too chaotic for her to even try and give him her number. He did know where she lived now, not that that sounded creepy at all, she giggled to herself.

Nonetheless, she was delighted over the crowd that had turned up.

Her attention shifted to Janine and Seria, seeing that they were tipsy and enjoying the bunny dance show. "It has turned into a party! I have candy and punch!" Looking at Janine, she said, "I love the color of your hair," eyeing the bandana around her eye, she asked, "So are you a pirate?" she asked Janine. Offering punch to both of them, she said, "I'd offer an alcoholic addition to it but you two seem like you have been indulging already. Want some candy?" Leaning forward and taking a close look at the feathers on Seria's ears, she said, "Wow! That is so detailed! Do you have a makeup artist?"

The witch jumped and gasped whenever there was a loud popping noise that originated from the potion that was in the kitchen. "Oh shit," she mumbled to herself, clearing her throat, "Excuse me!" She rushed into the kitchen, taking up a long wooden spoon and stirring the brew she had created, acting hastily to save it. "Whew! Just in the nick of time!"

Arriving back in the living room, carrying a bowl of the glowing green drink on a tray with some more paper cups, she set it down on the coffee table. "Want to prank some people? Offer them some of this drink! Don't worry about the look of it, it'll start looking like apple cider once it cools down. It'll make them hiccup until they get a good scare!"

She had not spotted the elf due to the near crisis she had experienced in the kitchen, taking some punch and candy to her, "Where did you get those contacts? That is so creepy and cool. Do you know this guy?" referring to the Ork, "Is he confused? Or is he under some evil spell for the amusement of a sorcerer? Not that I would judge said sorcerer," she said. "I can add an alcoholic beverage to your punch, if you like." Her enthusiasm over so many odd people turning up to her apartment was obvious.

While Evelyn talked to the other guests, and seeing she had accepted the payment, Caesar entered into a chamber and closed the door, the furniture looking somewhat similar albeit in a different style.

He removed his armor and took out an outfit from his leather travel pouch, to be more comfortable and at ease, and returned to the conversation and to the unanswered question from his host.

"I am not entirely sure how I ended up here... perhaps the gods have sent me here for unknown reasons or perhaps a sorcerer has done so out of spite. If so I shall need to find another witch or sorcerer to return me to my empire for sure" mused Caesar thoughtfully
Bliksem (played by Pirate)

The laughter turned the Ork's cheeks bright red. It was bad enough a pair of new arrivals happened to witness this event, hearing Yin's voice didn't much help with his rosy complexion, especially when he noticed the camera."Ohh... Oh for crying out loud just kill me now. I'm ready to embrace sweet nothingness." Bliksem grumbled. He had officially hit rock bottom. Things could only get better now, and after the laughter had settled, the saying seemed to be true. He got free alcohol out of this!

Bliksem gladly accepted the paper cup."Thanks. I could use some alcohol right about now." He said, about to take a sip until the cat latched onto his floppy ear, getting the Ork off balance."Whoa!" He uttered, suddenly letting out a sneeze loud and powerful enough to helicopter the cat around his cranium if it decided to hang onto his ear still.

"Someone get that cat off of me, please. I'm pretty allerg-" He didn't finish his sentence, instead he sneezed again, nearly spilling his drink. People probably got the gist he was allergic.

Regardless of the possible amount of cat hair inside the witch's house, he really didn't want to walk back down the street and be tormented with that damnable bet he took. The longer he could stay inside, the more houses he could avoid. This turned out to be a rather good decision, though. At the sight of the cups his face brightened up. This was exactly what he needed!

"C-Can I have a couple of those miracle drinks of yours, miss?" Bliksem asked eagerly."I know a pair of drekheads who deserve some payback."
Evelyn Johnstone (played by JustaBitEvil) Topic Starter

"Midna!" the witch scolded, reaching out to yank the very reluctant cat away from the Ork and set her down. Midna meowed her displeasure and went to sit in Caeser's lap instead. Evelyn kept her apartment tidy but it was inevitable that a certain amount of cat hair and dander were floating about.

Evelyn was more than happy to send some of the potion with him. As it gradually cooled, it turned from green to the rich tan color of apple cider. It even smelled like it. "Of course! And give them a couple of these party favors, too. They cause orange hair or blue skin and a couple of them make you much shorter or taller, just depends on which one you get. They look like little noise makers and all that but the second they use them, the jinx will take effect." The cups of punch, and a little plastic bag with the party favor pranks, were given to the Ork. "The potion lasts for several hours unless they get a good, genuine scare."

Observing that Caeser had changed out of his armor and made himself more comfortable, she tapped her chin in thought. "Well, I might be able to whip something up and send you back sometime tonight. I cannot be exact, but I can send you to roughly the same place and time where you had been. Do you want something to eat that isn't candy? Some liquor added to your punch?"
Hui Shang (played by XinonHyena)

Yin raised her eyebrows at Maverick's question. “Afraid I can’t do that Mr. Muscles. If you want to rewatch this you’ll have to film it yourself.” The dressed up elf replied with a sheepish smile. She loved to tease Bliksem but he was still a friend, she would never spread humiliating footage of him just because someone asked.

When addressed by the host Yin shot back a smile that turned into a grin when the contacts seemed to impress. “Oh these contacts? Got them through a guy I know and- check this out.” She took a phone-like device similar to the one Bliksem had out of her pocket and typed some commands, as she did the blank eyes changed to give Yin yellow eyes, she typed another command to turn them into cat eyes. “Nifty little things aren’t they?”

She turned to Bliksem as she slipped her commlink back into her pocket, she’d stick with cat eyes for now. “And yeah he’s a buddy of mine. If I’m not mistaken he lost some bet, I wasn’t really part of it.” The elf shrugged as she moved over and looked at the punch. “And yes I’d love some punch with ‘punch’. Thanks!”

Yin made sure to take careful note of what the various ‘party tricks’ the witch girl handed over looked like and made a mental note not to accept anything from Bliksem for a while. She’d be disappointed if he didn’t at least try to pull some of these on her later.

Her attention soon turned back to the Roman and how could it not. She was quite the theatre fan and this guy was sticking to his part unlike anyone she’d ever seen! Part of Yin started to believe Caesar actually did time travel in some way and seeing as the host played along… “Got a witch right here right?” She said, pointing at Evelyn. "This is so going to mess up the timeline."
anon (played anonymously)

Gaius Julius Caesar nodded in confirmation and accepted the alcoholic bevarage he had been offered "Thank you, you make an most generous hostess indeed" complimented Caesar

"Last I recall, I was talking with my nephew, Marcus Junius Brutus about the Norse gods, about Loki in fact, and how the god of mischief must be assisting the gauls for them to offer so much resistance... it is beyond belief. Asterix and Obelix skirmishes are causing quite a stir and Vercingetorix makes no matters any easier with his new alliance in Gallia" muttered Caesar displeased gazing at the pouch of coins

"Keep this gold... if Hades is roaming outside with all these walking dead, you will need two coins for each dead man's eyes; the Styx cannot be crossed freely after all, even in death, one must pay up their dues and Charon is not one to budge, we wouldn't want these dead spirits left to roam about for lack of payment" mused Caesar seriously, shuddering at the thought of it all.

"If you do know incantations I would appreciate being returned home no later than hora tertia (which was roughly 9AM) if at all possible" nodded Caesar right away as he too started to suspect that he was indeed out of place and time, judging by Yin's expressions and looked at the bunny.

"Why not sing your song for us again?" prompted Caesar well amused with the rhymed song and the hopping, taking another pouch of gold and tossing it at the entertainer to help him live the embarrassment down a little
