I'm checking to see who on this site roleplays and/or is otherwise a fan of elves!

Doesn't matter from what universe--Tolkien, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Witcher, Harry Potter, Hellboy, Marvel, folklore, even your own, etc.--all pointy-eared characters and fans thereof count!
My first OC was basically an elf with digitigrade legs. 8)

I don't think I have any at the moment, but the elven characters can be pretty dope.
Depends on the kind of elves. I am most partial to traditional folkloric elves, whether that be the original Nordic Alfar and related Vitterfolk, or the Celtic and Britannic take on elf-fairies. I don't mind Tolkienesque elves, but I sometimes get exasperated by them, due to their overuse in derivative fantasy fiction, and their tendency towards being portrayed as having a homogeneous culture where all elves are the same.

I love playing with elves. I don't mind what lore they use. I want to try one myself but I don't know enough about them for that.

ELVES!

I love elves!
Ilexys, what got you onto the topic of elves? I notice you've got a wicked world-building situation set up where they're the dominant species and I'm curious to hear about how that rolled out.

I'm drawn to elves because I find them more to my aesthetic liking--overall--than humans, dwarves, orcs and a number of other fantasy species presented in games and books. They're just the right combination of features--pointed ears, slender build, youthful, and large, beautiful eyes. I'm also a fan of BJD (ball-joint dolls) and elven features tend to lend to that look really well.

I was a bit perturbed that I couldn't find all that much diversity in the mainstream portrayal of elves in the fantasy genre as I could with humans (which is a species I don't bother with in the fantasy genre, especially when there's an option of other species to work with and--HI--I'm already a human!). Outside of The Elder Scrolls series and other games that allowed for broad customization, elves--unless they were drow--were white, frail, srs, soft-spoken creatures who only knew how to use bows and daggers and live in forests and wear light or medium leaf-inspired armor and clothing.

I got really freakishly bored with this trope, so I decided to reinvent them for myself. Give them an entire continent where there are no humans, and more diverse culture, dependent on the environment they hail from and the history they had...kind of like humans...but better!

Warhammer high elves have a really cool aesthetic you guys might dig. I like their wood elves too, but those are fairly standard, all things considered. But the high elves are cool.

I LOVE ELVES, AND I LOVE BREAKING ELVEN STEROTYPES.

So I made this bulky bearded son of a gun ages ago, who is by far NOT a slim and elegant creature.

But seriously I adore elves, in all shapes and types, weather it's the Tolkien depiction, Drow, or far more folklore-y non-modern Nordic elves of Alfheim.
