I'm curious, which forum would be the best one to post about your group looking for new members? I've seen some people post this in the smalltalk forum and some members post in the LFRP(adults only and normal) forums for this as well?
I just want to ask, to simply eliminate the possibility of promoting my topic in the wrong location.
I'm not really looking for roleplay as much as I'm just looking for people to join a group on the site that they themselves can roleplay in.
I want to reach as many people as possible for the group, so I'm hoping to post it to anyone who doesn't just look in the LFRP adults only forum. My group is rated for 18+ because I want to reach mature writers and the group itself does not contain content that should be accessed by all ages. Violence, language, and some sexual themes are a definite in this group.

The LFRP-AO forum is definitely your best bet for this! In the past people have also used the RP Discussion forum for group promotions, but I don't know how wide your reach would be there as the purpose of LFRP has not been present in there for a while. (I also don't know 100% for sure if mods move LFRP type topics out of RP Discussion these days or not.)
In case you didn't know yet, you can also restrict access to the group for members who are 18+ or 21+ in the group settings so you're always ensured only people with adult accounts can join.

The only time promoting a group in Small Talk would really be appropriate is if that group is for out of character discussion rather than for roleplay, so there's one potential forum hopefully off the table!
The two looking for roleplay forums are absolutely appropriate places to make a post about an in character group seeking new members. Which one you pick is really up to you, with a few caveats. If sexual content is going to be possible in the group, then it really needs to go into the adult only forums. Otherwise, you'd be free to put it on the all ages looking for role play forum, though I'd definitely include a note about your age restriction and why it's there to cut down on the number of people who try to click the link only to realize they can't go any further. does that help?
