Hi, I'm part of a very large group with multiple forums within the group. There are a couple forums within the group I am a part of, and I would like to receive activity notifications for them.

However, there are so many forums and so much activity in the group that if I turn on the group notifications, my feed blows up with unnecessary things. And even if I subscribe to those specific topics while turning the group notifications off, it doesn't show up in the feed.

Is there a way to get notifications only to specific forum topics within a group, so long as you're part of that group?

This is quite easy to do!

From the group page, mouse over 'Your Membership' then click 'Notification Settings'



You can then select which items you want to be notified about.
To subscribe to an individual thread, just click 'Subscribe' in the thread itself.
You should be able to unsubscribe from individual troublesome topics.

So with the notification settings, it doesn't allow me to pick and choose which topics I get notifications to.

let's just consider Forum Posts/Topics, which is what I'm most worried about.

Example: Amongst topic A, B(subscribed), C, D(subscribed) and E in the group, I only care about B and D, right?

How can I get my notifications from the group to only display notifications from specific forum topics within the group? Currently, it's all or nothing, regardless if I'm subscribed to the ones I care about or not.

What you're trying to achieve is currently not possible (I just tested this and can't create a settings combination to see in-group topics I subscribed to while being unsubscribed from the rest of the group forum posts). I don't know if this is because the features work as intended, or if it's a bug. In either case I would personally love to have an option where you can unsub from group forum posts, but toggle to see notifications on topics you're subscribed to.

I have not been able to manage this. In my case, given most my groups are active (partially my fault), I unsubcribed from all notifications and just check the forums manually every so often, otherwise my news feed becomes cluttered

It would be a great feature to be able to unsubscribe from the group as a whole except for particular forums

I have also had to just turn off all notifications for a group with a lot of active forums. My character is only in one of them. I just try to remember to check on it every day.

You're right, this is a sorely needed feature! I'll see what I can do...
