This topic is for discussing clues and potential answers to the island symbol in Epic Week 2018. Please stay on topic. Remember, these riddles are designed to be challenging and require a group of people noodling together; don't feel intimidated if you don't know the answer right away. Every little idea can help.

Monkey Island (Tri-Island Area) maybe?
So, no idea what symbol it might potentially relate to, but I want to reiterate that the in video posted to tease EW coming up, a rock around :30 has script of some sort on it. I think similar script was on the back of the rock with the alien code when shown in the video with the princess and the hero, and I'm pretty sure one of the pages in their book in that video also showed it.

And it looks like some of our symbols to solve for.

Well, it says set on a trio of islands. Maybe its not the islands themselves.
I think rat is onto something with the monkeys, like the three monkeys that will not see, hear or speak no evil. But im not sure how.

The structure some of these riddles have followed before (for the geeky trivia ones at least) is that the first clue is usually a franchise, the second a character/object/place/etc within that franchise, then the third something very specific or abstract relating to them - but it might not necessarily apply this time (or to this riddle). Just a thing to keep in mind when brainstorming!
Trio of islands. Three islands.. three genres? we need more clues!

Also, from what I've experienced in previous years, the ones with the symbols that feature parts of the code we need to crack (beta, singular, tango for example) will most likely have answers relating to RPR and the plot, but the other ones (island, archery, vulture) are most likely to have answers relating to franchises, science, history etc. The symbols themselves are a hint too.

Oh, whoops - I never noticed that the riddlers this year tell you if it's a trivia or a puzzle! So this one probably has an answer relating to RPR/the plot.

No wonder something was missing. Hehe

And trio islands...hmmm.. im thinking of Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso...
Is it a Legend of Zelda reference? The triforce and all that?

I know that should make me think of Dante's Divine Comedy first and foremost but I am afraid to admit my first thought about seeing those terms was of the Bayonetta video game series.

Though, it appears The Divine Comedy has an influence on many things. I'm sure, if it is a sort of franchise, we could find one also pertaining to this theme. I'm just not sure they would go that route and Bayonetta seems like a silly direction to go, in my opinion.
I was thinking Monkey Island too. But it's tough to say without another clue
Question: Does the second hint need to be revealed in order for the third to be?

I don't believe so, I think they can be revealed in any order

Yeah, hints can definitely be revealed out of order. This one'll probably be tough to progress on without further clues!

The second clue can only be revealed to someone whose birthday is on the 18th day of any month. You unlocked this clue!

The Golem's second clue is: Has this improvised accoutrement in common with Kim

The third clue can only be revealed to someone who visits me when there are less than 85 members online.

Uhm...you're welcome I guess? XD
Hmmm...this would make more sense with the third clue...
