Let's see how much I remember:

RPing was a major hobby of mine a million years ago, back when I was in high school and college [oh the lost halcyon days of my youth!]. In those days, a good RP was the best way to keep my writing claws sharp as I battled my way to a degree in English, a degree which has since proved all but useless in my professional life. Unless, of course, one calls proofreading the emails of middle managers a use (may it be said that no C-level executive has ever used the wrong "there" on my watch).

As my idealism crumbled and sent me tumbling down a black hole of tech companies and administrative work, I let go those dreams of writing not just the great American novel, but even the trashiest of fantasy/steampunk/romance pulp paperbacks. I settled into responsible adulthood, paying my mortgage, joining a gym, and watching far too many sitcom reruns on Netflix.

Then, in the hopes of building some kind of a social life for myself, I started playing DnD, with real live people in real live places. There was even wine. And it became a ritual, every Saturday night I and a small group of like-minded individuals would gather to tell ridiculous stories and build interesting characters.

But, ladies and gentlemen, it wasn't enough.

While I still play DnD (and WoD, and Urban Shadows, and some odd Harry Dresden game I'm not much of a fan of), our crew is slowly but surely evolving to the next level of adulthood: getting married, having children, moving to Seattle, etc. And because my story void still needs some filling, I have strolled into town like a bandito into a wild west town, just looking for trouble and a good time.

Call me Shiva. Nice to meet you. Let's play a game.

Hi zombie. Hello and welcome to RPR.
I actually started roleplaying on YouTube when I was in elementary school, in grade 7 or 8... Now I am 21 years old and still love it. I used to be TERRIBLE at it but I have come a long way. It is kind of like riding a bicycle in the sense that practice makes perfect :D

Welcome to RP Repository!! I really hope that you find what you are looking for and enjoy it here :)

Welcome to RPR! Hope you find lots of great games, fantastic friends and all in all enjoy your time here. Happy gaming! :D
Welcome! This is a great site to get started back in RP. It's very character based compared to a lot of sites I've been on.

Welcome to RPR. I'm Asroc. I RP many and mostly Canons, but I am friendly to OC RPers and will RP with them. I do mainly AU RPs as them. Enjoy your time here.
Welcome to RPR. I came here for the same reason. I needed an RP platform that would fit with my Adulting.

It worked out rather well. Connected with some wonderful writers and the RP itch gets scratched.

I hope you have the same positive experience I have. Happy writing!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm still looking something Lovecraftian to take part in, but that's by no means my only interest. I'm open for almost any genre as long as the plot and characters are interesting. I do have a particular spot for medieval/steampunk/wild west stories though if anyone has any of those running!

Only slight exception is that I don't do many fandom RPs, because I am old and all my fandoms are dead D:
