Meandering around the river bed, peering copper gems simmered with mischief. Fleeting to and fro, silver fish danced about, fleeting in and out of her glimpse. She paused, but only briefly, admiring the graceful movements.
But also, studying them. Analyzing them. Keen lust spilled from the depths of her orbs. Nestled within the sockets of her sunken face, the fur that made up the embodiment of the ne'er-do-well was... lackluster. Disgusting and filthy. The bitch had lacked the desire of self-care. Her only desire now was the feast of royalty.
Swallowing hard, she tried to shovel the self-doubt into the catacombs of her mind. Her body wrapped in primal determination stilled her, stiffening her limbs.
A soot colored, serpentine-like muscle twitched behind her; tail flickering with anticipation. Like a bomb's fuse being devouring by the fire, her body surged forth with a mighty bound.
Consumed by the depths, a chill akin to death's embrace grasped her as she slipped beneath the surface. Slippery rock bed gave little for footing, causing a ruckus by the large mammal.
And, ultimately, defeat.
No fish. No supper.
Her black head, adorned with her ashy namesake, bobbed up above the water. Puckering her lips, a small fountain of water shot from her mouth.
"Blimey...." She muttered.
This was Comet. And Comet was still hungry.
