Inspired by today's rp prompt! 7/13/18

Ever since the death of the elven king Jhahardis Navishiène, the forests are dying and crumbling. He leaves behind no heir, as his children have fallen one by one to the forces of war. For decades now, the elves have waged a fierce war with their sworn enemies, the Orcs, over the Shrine of Mystalion, the construct that is said to give life to the whole forest. The shrine is currently in possession of the elves, however only the ruler can be blessed by it and impart its power to give life.

With King Jhadaris and his sudden, mysterious death, his envoys and the rest of the nobility have scrambled to set up a series of trials that allow them to choose their new king. These trials will test various portions of the elven ideal: battle prowess, stability of will, courage of heart, and mastery of the arcane. The High Council, the king's former advisors, will be the ones to oversee the contest and will ultimately be the ones to choose who is deemed worthy.

Xyla's past has never left her, as much as she tried to turn away from it and escape what destiny had borne for her. But now with the forest and her people in dire need, she has found the resolve that it's time to go back, and maybe set things right. The contest is just the first step.

Hey all! Looking for people who can write at least a proper paragraph, preferably with an elven character or another humanoid. I will be using fantasy Xy here and may throw in other characters as I feel the need (I.e. the High Council, etc). Hoping for this to be a fun group rp!!

Romance is optional, and I would accept ideas for the trials themselves even if you don't want to play! For romances with Ayu, I prefer mxf. But this is mainly adventure.

Ohhh I have a few elves to throw in!

Kayghet here is a dark elf hybrid if he'd be acceptable- certainly not the team player but definitely the kind who would GLADLY take over a new kingdom.

Alternatively, if Kayghet isn't desired, I could throw in one of my younger characters; he's a child in elf years, granted, but Theo was a prince before he was....sorta kidnapped by the Onyx clan? He'd probably be accompanied by Wyvern (listed on that page) or even Iskra herself, or perhaps all alone.

I do have plot advantage, and be warned that I might be absolutely shameless about it

@breezy Talayna is fine, and I might have some dice use every now and again, but likely not often.

@Tus ahahaha. We can talk about any of your characters being in the Council or in the actual competition.

@strawberry you can even put both of them if you want to. If Theo does show up, I do want to ask him to be older than 20 years (still very young in elven age) and I may have some plot things to disclose to you.

This plot is still a vanilla shell at the moment, I would be happy to work with all of you to make it deeper and more complex. You're all a familiar bunch and I think it'd be great.

I was just about to ask about this! I had a character concept I wanted to run by you before committing to using a slot for and joining in. Will do so shortly.

Ill be trying to think of a starter! Again, as I've said before, I accept plot and trial suggestions. Weekends tend to be somewhat busy for me but Ill have a starter up Monday at the latest.

Sorry it took me a quick minute to respond- I don’t mind using an older Theo, no problem there. If that’s the case I’ll use them both- Kayghet accompanying Theodwin as a sort of favor to Iskra.

I have a clear preference for evil * cough * neutral-ish characters in power (at least temporarily)

All the elves on this profile are members of the council, one being the leader and some with hidden darker agendas

And I do have some trials and quests pre cooked for our daring challengers

You can definitely put in all of them for the Council if you like. I will also put in Nemoto, Houzin and Mal'luch like I used in Ivory. Shoot me a pm and we cam maybe discuss the trials themselves and the Council's motives and relations with one another.
